    Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance Assistant

    Overview

    • The Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance Assistant position is responsible for the administrative support functions for the IPRA and QA team.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides administrative support, including IPRA documentation (blue sheets, labels, customer questionnaires, agreements, etc.).
    • Must be able to draft certain elements of a product or dossier registration under direct supervision.
    • Responsible for entries on the ERP system that are related regulatory and quality assurance.
    • Management of product labelling programs.
    • Publishing and management of product documentation on Kemin database(s).
    • Responsible for filing and record management.
    • Support the Raw Material Risk Assessment (RMRA) process.
    • Management of supplier approval documents.
    • Assist in audits.
    • Support the quality assurance change management process.
    • Keep abreast with food and feed safety rules and regulations.
    • Other duties as assigned, including assistance with primary IPRA Specialist functions.

    Qualifications

    Education level.

    • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific background, e.g. BSc Animal Science, Veterinary, Para-Veterinary or Pharmacy.

    Essential skills and experience.

    • 2+ years of relevant experience.
    • Good knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Must be fluent in English.
    • Excellent computer skills required.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Good prioritization skills and time management skills.
    • Ability to learn and apply food and feed regulatory law and regulations.

    Personal characteristics:

    • Ability to develop strong networks and influence internal and external stakeholders.

    Production Operator - Olifantsfontein

    Overview

    • The Production Operator position is responsible for picking the prescribed raw materials required to provide a consistent quality, following the picking list/mixing instruction and procedures established by the company without deviation. Ensure that all products are produced safely, efficiently and meet all quality standards as set forth by the company is also responsible for Environmental, Safety, and Health compliance.

    Responsibilities

    Picking:

    • Daily organization of the picking line
    • Follow up use of correct raw material, lot numbers and administration.
    • Ensuring that the picking area is clean at all times before picking can commence.
    • Picking raw materials into bags, drums with the correct weights before supplying the production line.
    • Packing, palletizing and wrapping of the raw materials to be transported to the lines.

    Mixer/Line:

    • Daily organization of production line i.e. cleaning and maintenance.
    • Follow up use of correct labels, lot numbers and administration.
    • Accurately weigh and measure ingredients, clean, and other auxiliary equipment.
    • Operation of the picking installations in accordance with the instructions.
    • Lifting and moving up to 50kg of bags, up to 200kg drums and 1000kg IBC of raw materials.
    • Picking of raw materials in accordance with the mixing instructions and the picking list.

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of experience of chemical Batch processing experience a plus.
    • Must have Matric with Maths and Science or equivalent.
    • Chemical qualification is an added advantage.
    • Forklift license an advantage.

    Language Skills:

    • Must have strong verbal communication skills.
    • Must be able to effectively speak in front of large groups.

    Mathematical Skills:

    • Must be good with the figures/calculations (numerical literacy)

    Reasoning Ability:

    • Ability to identify bottlenecks and equipment inefficiencies.

    Physical Demands:

    • Lifting and moving up to 50kg of raw materials, up to 200kg drums and 1000kg IBC of raw materials.
    • Packing product into bags and buckets.
    • Using stairs for most of the day when required
    • Unafraid of heights

    Work Environment:

    • Typical manufacturing floor environment.
    • Hazardous chemicals
    • Shift work when required

    Senior Accounting Manager - Olifantsfontein

    Overview

    • The Senior Accounting Manager CA(SA) is responsible for the entity's accounting function. Assist the Finance Director to ensure sound financial management and controls are in place and continuedly improved. Providing the Local business and International Group with information relating to the company's financial standing for strategic decision making.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure that the accounting function is carried out accurately and timeously.
    • Oversee finance from processing until Monthly and Yearly reporting packs.
    • Expense Analysis (All departments & Cost Centres).
    • Prepares financial reports, forecasts and budgets.
    • Responsible for managing the External and Internal Audit process.
    • Monthly and annual tax submissions.
    • Ensuring compliance with group internal and credit controls.
    • Review of capital investments including IRR calculations.
    • Be part of worldwide project team implementing an improved ERP system.
    • Manage effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in order to ensure business continuity.

    Qualifications

    • CA(SA) qualification.
    • 5 - 10 years’ experience in accounting and financial management.
    • Experience with working in a team giving guidance to junior staff.
    • Good understanding of a manufacturing environment.
