    Obsolescence Administrator X2

    Your role

    • The main responsibility of the position is to co-ordinate and control the obsolescence tools as well as to populate and maintain the databases. It also requires publishing and reporting of information and status of obsolete and new components. Designing of the component management processes and procedures will also be part of the activities.
    • Obsolescence Reports: BOMs clean up, import BOMs into the 3rd party obsolescence tool, edit reports for internal/external customers. Obtain environmental/chemical reports from 3rd party obsolescence tool.
    • Administration of 3rd party obsolescence tool (IHS):
    • Alerts from IHS: Process and assign EOL/status change tickets to different product TDAs, process all other notifications, monitor EOL tickets continuously
    • Alerts from Procurement/Suppliers: IHS supported EOL alert (submit research request to IHS), not IHS supported EOL alert (manual ticket to be raised)
    • LTB process: Prepare LTB sheet, obtain quotes, Forum 1 meetings with relevant parties, monitor progress until stock is allocated to relevant projects in IFS, close ticket
    • Status monitoring of parts in IFS:
    • Liaise with production (Manufacturing Planning & Control, Production Controller),
    • Ensure parts in Part Master, Inventory Part and Engineering Part (IFS) are up to date by notifying relevant parties of changes
    • Obsolescence for specific customers:
    • Monitor alerts weekly: Reports to be created for customer if any obsolete part affects the customer.
    • Maintain component databases

    Your profile
    Required skills:

    • 5 years in the electronics design industry 
    • Purchasing procedures
    • MS Office
    • Obsolescence management recommended
    • Creating and defining work processes

    Desired skills:

    • Computer literate
    • Configuration Control knowledge
    • Good internet knowledge
    • Knowledge of logistic support

    Qualification:

    • Matric
    • 5-years work experience
    • 2 years in an obsolesces department
    • 5-year computer experience

    Engineer, Integrated Logistic Support

    Your role

    • Inputs into budgets, quotes & tenders, in support of the ILS manager 
    • Responsible for effective and efficient timesheet management (recovery of hours). 
    • Participate (with strong influence) in the establishment of the Logistic Engineering process and tasks for target / customer and development product baselines 
    • Influence the design in terms of reliability, maintainability, testability and safety 
    • Perform a Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) in order to capture all maintenance data in order to support a product / system (maintenance tasks, resources, tooling, personnel, support & test equipment, etc.) 
    • Define the most suitable and cost-effective Maintenance Concept per program 
    • Consolidate all maintenance data in a Maintenance Plan 
    • Define the required Support and Test Equipment to effectively support and test the main equipment per product / program 
    • Calculate and define the optimum recommended spare parts for a product / system as per a define operational profile and relevant maintenance level 
    • Define the required Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation requirements per program 
    • Identify and define facility requirements for maintenance and training 
    • Participate in failure analysis and relevant corrective actions
    • Perform reliability analysis for products and systems 
    • Analyse products / systems by identifying all possible failure modes, the effects of the failures, the causes thereof and possible mitigation actions
    • Expand the Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) to make provision for additional test data to subsequently convert the FMECA to a Failure Catalogue 
    • Provide support to the System Engineering environment to perform a Testability Analysis 
    • Support Safety Engineer during safety analysis regarding failures, effects / consequences of failures and the probability of failures occurring 
    • Support Safety Engineer in the construction of the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) 
    • Authoring of Service Letters, Technical and Service Bulletins per program 
    • Authoring of Technical Publications per program on an ad hoc basis when the Technical Author is not available or overloaded 
    • Provide the required support to Product Areas and other groups who interface directly with clients 
    • Assistance in identifying and evaluating vendors as part of the development and industrialization process. 

    Your profile

    • Perform Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) analysis tasks to develop in coordination with the system engineering effort and each other, trade-offs which may be required between elements in order to acquire a product / system that is; affordable (lowest life-cycle cost), operable, supportable, sustainable, transportable, safe to operate, reliable and environmentally sound which meet and exceed the market / end user requirements.
    • Required skills:
    • Knowledge regarding EW and Avionics products and their operational environments

    Desired skills:

    • Logistics & System Safety Engineering, Technical Authoring and training experience 
    • Experienced with MIL-HDBK-217F Notice 2, MIL-STD-1629A, etc. 
    • Systems Engineering knowledge / experience will be an advantage 
    • Project and Product management experience. 

    Qualification:

    • Technical qualification (Minimum requirement: National Technical Diploma – Electronics)
    • Management or leadership training 
    • Specific software tools training (e.g. Windchill Quality Solutions (Relex), MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, IFS, Eagle LSA Toolset, etc.).

    Hardware Systems Engineer, Digital Receivers: RWS

    Your role

    • Plan, Manage, Design, Execute and Support of the Digital Receiver development effort from concept through to Production Readiness.
    • Take the lead in defining the Roadmap for Digital Receivers for EW system applications.
    • Perform Research on existing digital receiver technology and do conceptual design of future systems.
    • Perform requirements analysis, definitions and allocations, functional analysis and system synthesis.  Derive lower level sub-system or component requirements where required and ensure traceability to higher-level requirements.
    • Act as Technical Team Leader for the development of Digital Receivers for EW system applications.
    • Be the technical interface to customers (internal and external) for assigned projects.
    • Create technical documentation to ensure the establishment of Requirements and to ensure traceability to Specification Tests and Results.

    Your profile
    Practical Experience Required

    • 5-10 Years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering R&D and product development environment
    • Experience in the development of Digital Receivers
    • A good understanding of RF system design
    • Electronic Warfare knowledge and experience will be an advantage
    • 10+ Years’ experience in Hardware/Firmware design for FPGAs using VHDL.

    Specialist Knowledge

    • Experienced in Digital Circuit Design
    • Experience in Digital Signal Processing
    • High Speed Signal Processing knowledge and experience
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the System Engineering and Product Development process
    • Good People Management and Communication skills

    Qualification

    • B.Eng Electronic or an equivalent qualification

    Maintenance Trainer

    Your role
    Development of SGD Maintenance Training offering that includes the analysis of customer training needs, development of maintenance training material and training devices, drafting of training plans and the presentation of maintenance training courses to customers at the appropriate maintenance level.

    • Ensure that the Training Plans are completed per programme and comply with the contracted baseline and deliverables (includes main equipment and support & test equipment) 
    • Ensure that the Training Material Development are completed per programme and comply with the contracted baseline and deliverables (includes main equipment and support & test equipment) 
    • Perform a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) per programme in order to determine and capture all maintenance training requirements and data 
    • Present Maintenance Training Courses as per contracted maintenance level on main and support & test equipment 
    • Develop training devises that will enhance the SGD training offering and ease the burden of transferring knowledge to customers 
    • Authoring of Service Letters, Technical and Service Bulletins per program 
    • Authoring of Technical Publications per program on an ad hoc basis when the Technical Author is not available or overloaded 
    • Participate in the development of the SGD training offering (workgroup) 
    • Support the Logistic and Safety Engineers with technical advice and inputs regarding safe and sound maintenance techniques and procedures that will enable the ease of maintenance and training 
    • Adherence to company business management systems, policies, procedures and best practices of ILS management. 
    • Provide the required support to Product Areas and other groups who interface directly with clients 
    • Assistance in identifying and evaluating vendors as part of the development and industrialization process.
