    Payroll Analyst

    JOB PURPOSE:

    • The role will function as the link between Payroll, Human Resources, Finance and IT. Ensure systems are communicating correctly and that optimum system performance is maintained. Analytics for decision making and reporting to management.


    KEY PERFORMANC AREAS:

    Duties include but will not be limited to:

    • Analyse compensation related data and system calculations.
    • Updating and configuring the system to comply with legislative and operational requirements as required by Management.
    • Weekly and monthly configuration check and escalating system issues tp prevent failure to Management.
    • Data Migration and set-up.
    • Compilation of system user guides.
    • Project Management on all Payroll and HR Projects.
    • Reporting and Analytics on Salary and Wage information and mitigation of risks associated with potential payroll errors
    • Data Analytics - system performance, staff output and training needs.
    • Maintenance and changes to organogram.
    • Manage flow of information between departments.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Project Management Certificate or Diploma
    • Certificate in Business Systems and Data Analysis.
    • SAGE 300 People experience (full payroll function).
    • Excellent understanding of the BCEA and Labour Legislation.
    • Excellent IT and Systems knowledge with SQL, Visio and Click sense experience.
    • Advannced Excel user.
    • SARS System knowledge.

    Efficient Cook

    JOB PURPOSE: 

    • Plans, prepare and cooks food items for crew onboard
    • Keep the kitchen organised and running efficiently
    • Proper food handling and sanitation in kitchen area
    • Following food storage procedures
    • Adhering to HACCP standards
       

    KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

    • In possession of an Efficient Cook SAMSA qualification
    • Proof of Seafarer Medical Certificate
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience

    Grade 3 & 4 Deck Officers

    JOB PURPOSE: 

    • Experience in Navigational duties
    • Have knowledge of SAMSA requirements for fishing vessels.
    • Assist with watch keeping and lookout duties
    • Responsible for onboard Safety reports, inspections, and awareness
    • To assist with all trawling operations on
    • Have experience of deck rigging and operations
    • To assist with repairs to fishing gear when requested
       

    JOB DIMENSION:       

    • Assist with bridge watch keeping
    • Have good understanding of SAMSA regulations
    • Assist with shooting and hauling of fishing gear
    • Have experience of Repair fishing nets and splice warp wires & ropes when required
    • Assist with factory operations when instructed to do so or during periods of heavy fishing
    • Have good understanding of all other deck activities, i.e. cleaning, painting, crane operation, rigging as well as watch keeping duties whilst the vessel is in port
       

    KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

    • In possession of a SAMSA Deck officer qualification (COC)
    • Proof of Seafarer Medical Certificate with no limitations
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience

    Human Resources Practitioner

    JOB PURPOSE:

    • To provide an efficient HR support service to the organisation by implementing relevant HR initiatives that address short- to long-term people development and functionality to ensure a motivated and directed workforce that’s able to function effectively and fulfil the needs of the organisation.
    • Continuous improvement of service, practices and delivery for BU's operational requirements.


    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
    Duties include but will not be limited to:

    • Monitor and maintain an improved IR climate:
    • Conduct disciplinary, appeals hearings and grievance procedures in line the Disciplinary Code and Disciplinary SOP at all times.
    • Ensure incident reports are completed in line with disciplinary procedures.
    • Update and submit IR report on a monthly basis.
    • Ensure line managers are addressing poor absenteeism in line the company policies procedure.
    • Provide recruitment and selection service to Management in line with Sea Harvest Policies and Procedures, BCEA, LRA etc.:
    • Ensure labour requisitions and advertisements are signed-off by the relevant department heads.
    • Advertising, selection, interviews, shortlist, appoint all in accordance with Recruitment and Selection Policy in line with the current EE 5 year plan.
    • Ensure correct appointment documentation are provided to the new employee at all times.
       

    Employment Equity:

    • Monitor and implement Employment Equity practices within the workplace:
    • Ensure EE targets are maintained through recruitment and training.
    • Ensure EE subcommittee forums represented by the relevant groups at all times.
    • Ensure agendas are sent out in advance and attendance registers are signed at all times.


    General Discipline:

    • HR Administration: Ensure all HR information filed and recorded onto SAGE where applicable, accurately at all times.
    • Manage Employee Wellness Programme/EAP:
    • Ensure the HR Administrator completes EWP/EAP task
    • Ensure expenses are always signed off by HR Manager.
    • Ensure meetings are attended by the relevant committee members and tasks are carried out accordingly.


    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in HRM
    • At least 3 At least 3 – 5 years’ experience in a related role
