• The Field Support Engineer supports the Rockwell Automation Customer, Field Sales Force, Industry Sales Force and other GMS staff by interpreting complex technical information, providing systems programming assistance, informal product/system training, preparing accurate definition and specifications for integrated component systems quotations, troubleshooting, fault finding and co-ordinates hardware, software system projects and attends to emergency call

Qualifications Required

• Recognized Appropriate Engineering Qualification B.Eng., BSc. Eng. or B.Tech.

Experience Required For Professional Level

• Control systems PLC, Software and SCADA Fault finding and configuration
• Communication Networks (Ether Net, Device Net, ControlNet)
• MIS/MES – SQL database integration, standard and customized reporting
• FT View SCADA Development
• Industrial Computers
• Executing RAMS Solutions within local mining and metals industry
• Excellent knowledge of the industrial automation product range and applications.
• Previous experience in a customer support role in an engineering capacity

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance by performing the following duties

• Application Engineering Assistance.
• Programming Assistance.
• Provide on-site consultation for customers with problems applying or using Rockwell Automation products. Recommend corrective actions and troubleshooting approaches.
• Increase customers’ awareness of Rockwell Automation’s available services.
• Carry out site visit and investigation at the customers’ request to rectify problems, determine warranty status for product warranty claims.
• Assist Rockwell Automation personnel to solve complex technical problems as appropriate.
• Provide feedback to the respective Product Manager relating to product quality, product performance during site activities as required.
• Provide technical assistance to Rockwell Automation personnel during product and system presentations, system design and design alternatives to meet customer requirements.
• Keep up to date on Rockwell Automation products by being available to attend technical training courses developed by Rockwell Automation and given by Rockwell Automation authorised trainers.
• Be prepared to travel to remote locations/sites, for extended periods, when the need for technical support or system start-up assistance is required.
• Provide administration and accounting reports as per the required formats laid down by the CSM Manager.
• Maintain thorough understanding of Rockwell Automation’s company philosophy and policies.
• Conduct in-house repairs.
• Update RAMSES / CLARIFY with any dialogue with customers and any new customer information.
• Be responsible and accountable for all company assets under your control.
• Will be assigned a 24 hour “On Call” status as per the published standby roster

The incumbent will be servicing the Mozambique territory and establishments.

Responsibilities

• Directs the activities of an integrated hardware/software systems design function.
• Designs and develops electronic, electro-mechanical equipment or systems-oriented products, and prepares related installation, operation, and maintenance specifications and instructions.
• Conducts feasibility studies on engineering proposals and related technical data for assigning new equipment or modifying existing equipment.
• Collects operational data and prepares customer application information.
• Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
• Travelling to our Mozambique establishment on a regular basis (travelling 80% of the year)

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Engineering discipline (Electrical or Electronic engineering)
• Previous people management experience required 5 to 8 years of experience
• Extensive experience with control systems application
• Proven success at simultaneously managing multiple complex customer projects
• Extensive experience with direct customer contact and suppliers
• Must be accustomed to regular travel and in possession of a Valid SA passport and SA driver's license

• Rockwell Automation South Africa is currently seeking a Senior Networks Consultant to join a comprehensive global team. The role is essentially based in Sub-Saharan Africa, with regular travel coupled with the responsibilities of the role.

The Senior Networks Consultant will be responsible for the following:

• Develops appropriate network based solutions to address problems of systems integration, compatibility, and challenges in using multiple platforms.
• Translates business needs into technical system solutions taking various factors into account.
• Performs feasibility analysis of potential future projects. Responsible for the technical correctness and completeness of system designs.
• Integrates network hardware, software and interfaces to form a system.
• Recommends products that will evolve the organization's technical infrastructure.
• Provides ideas to further enhance business offerings and drive consistency.

• Our Sr. Networks Consultant role encompasses the lead technical advisor responsibilities for interfacing with our valued clients on large scale, multi-site global projects to develop and deploy robust network solutions.
• The Sr. Networks Consultant will interact directly with key internal and external contacts on the deployment and rollout of network infrastructure and security related efforts.  These projects will be specific to enabling a Connected Enterprise by connecting the Industrial Internet of Things at our key global customer facilities.

Requirements:

• Degree or relevant Post matric qualification in the realm of Information Technology
• At least 6 years experience in the field concerned
• CCNA qualification or accrediation will be advantageous
