    Senior Consultant: FRM- Treasury

    Description of the role and purpose of the job:

    • Financial risk is an inescapable fact of life in the modern business environment and KPMG offers a broad ranging financial risk management service. In the current climate, enterprises of all kinds and sizes want robust financial risk management frameworks that satisfy compliance demands, contribute to better decision making and enhance performance.
    • Our Financial Risk Management professionals with backgrounds including actuaries, risk analysts, economists and banking professionals work with our clients to leverage and use their risk management and compliance experience to drive superior performance.
    • The team requires individuals to enhance its capacities around regulatory compliance, specialised internal and external audit support and market risk analysis and processes. 

    Key responsibilities:

    • The key requirement of the role is to complete regulatory risk assessments, specialised audits and compliance with processes to manage those risks.  This will require a general understanding of financial risk and compliance.
    • Accordingly, the role does require a general understanding of the financial markets, instruments, and their regulatory environment.
    • Working in close partnership with senior analysts and risk managers the successful candidate will be expected to:
    •  Contribute to the delivery of projects, gathering and documenting requirements, considering all stakeholders’ interests, regulatory constraints and any potential deficiencies in the current methods exposed by quality assurance and reviews
    •  Ensure the methods and results are adequately documented to support internal and external audit reviews, audit risk committees, regulators and other internal departments of an entity under review e.g. Internal Audit, by providing enough feedback from the client and practical solutions.

    Skills and attributes required for the role:

    •  Understanding of financial markets and financial instruments
    •  Knowledge of the regulatory frameworks that financial entities operate within e.g. FICA, Bank’s Act, Financial Markets Act
    •  Knowledge of payment systems would be beneficial, although not essential
    •  Ability to work in Excel, Word and prepare presentations using PowerPoint
    •  Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in team environments
    •  Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and focus on excellence
    •  Problem solver with good analytical skills
    •  Possess self-awareness, good listening skills, and ability to give and receive feedback well
    •  Excellent time management capabilities
    •  Have the ability to operate well under pressure

    Sustainability Services Manager

    Description of the role and purpose of the job:

    • The Sustainability Services team provides ESG assurance and a wide range of ESG-related advisory  services. Our multidisciplinary team works with a range of established methodologies to identify  strengths, weaknesses, and risks in organisations’ interactions with society, and uses this knowledge  to strengthen impact.
    • Due to the heightened awareness around ESG and its increasing importance for all organisations,  there has been an increase in ESG considerations and inclusions in proposals and client liaisons throughout the business. It is imperative that the Sustainability Services team works with teams  across all business units to ensure that each of the relevant ESG pillars are being considered when  offering services or delivering on work, which will ultimately result in increased value to the client. 
    • Sustainability Services requires a Manager to work with the current leadership team to deliver on the  upcoming workload of assurance and advisory projects. The Manager will need to project manage  the assurance and reporting engagements and direct, guide and supervise the allocated team. 
    • Furthermore, there is a need to work with the leads across the KPMG Business units to build KPMG  solutions in Assurance and Reporting as well as prepare and deliver on proposals.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Responsibilities include:
    •  Site visits
    •  Review of work performed
    •  Report writing
    •  Quality review of client deliverables
    •  Team planning and management
    •  Client liaison
    •  Management and delivery of sustainability assurance engagements
    •  Oversight of financial elements of projects (budget determination and management, billing, 
    • overrun negotiations with clients)
    •  Responsibilities for wider unit management within the Sustainability Services team (training, 
    • finance, planning, and performance management)
    •  Supporting and mentoring junior staff, both technically and personally
    •  Creating and maintaining close working relationships with existing and potential internal and
