    Job Purpose

    • The objective of this job is to perform the administrative duties related to postgraduate studies after student registration to student graduation

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • National Diploma/Diploma in Office Management Technology or Business and Information Administration
    • A minimum of 3 years relevant administrative experience.
    • Knowledge of policies related to postgraduate studies (Level 9 & 10).
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Advanced knowledge in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Database; Project; Sharepoint, Onedrive, Teams, Forms)

    Recommendation:

    Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

    Responsibilities include:

    • Secretariate for Faculty Higher Degrees Committee (FHDC):
    • Preparing agendas and minutes via the HDC digital platform for approving research topics, proposals, Student Supervisor Agreements, progress reports, examiners and final marks and submission of final thesis to library.
    • Communicate outcomes from the meeting to supervisors.
    • All communication with examiners when thesis is submitted for examination.
    • Submission of appointment contracts for examiners.
    • Submission of remuneration documents of examiners and external supervisors.
    • Send reminders that examination reports are due.
    • Ensure submission of final thesis to library.
    • Preparation and checking of graduation lists.
    • Prepare quarterly FHDC report to Faculty Board.
    • Maintain database of examiners.

    Job Purpose

    • To provide quality individual support to at-risk students with disabilities in- and outside the classroom environment and to ensure the retention and academic success of these students. This is done through liaising with at-risk students and academic staff, handling of timetables, verbatim capturing of lectures (directly or transcribing of recordings), filing, record keeping, database administration and scribing during examinations.
