    Shop Assistant and Cashier

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Overview

    The main purpose of this position is to always be available to assist customers. Offer a high standard of service to customers on the shop floor and at the till points by monitoring the stock levels on the shop floor, and by following up on availability of stock on the shop floor.

    Purpose and Objectives

    • To always be visible, friendly and knowledgeable so as to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction

    • To have a positive effect on sales by displaying good customer service interaction and following customer guidelines

    • By following stock management processes, monitor and improve stock availability

    • Maintain a high store standard by daily housekeeping and merchandising principles

    • Maintain high levels of accuracy when dealing with cash as well as to prevent shrinkage and loss

    • Always be vigilant and honest in daily activities 

    Requirements

    Experience and Education:

    • Completion of Grade 12 with a minimum of 50% in Mathematics (or 60% in Mathematical Literacy) and 50% in English

    General Worker | Cleaner

    Overview

    The main objective of this position is to perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties in and around our office building which is situated in Brackenfell.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Keep building in a clean and orderly condition;

    • Cleaning tasks such as washing walls and glass, mirrors, removing rubbish, dusting, mopping, sweeping and vacuuming;

    • Emptying garbage bins on a daily basis;

    • Ensuring that the kitchen is clean and tidy at all times, dishes are washed and fridge is clean;

    • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures;

    • Ensure that bathrooms are kept sanitary throughout the day, e.g. ensure that there is enough toilet paper in the stalls, hand soap at the basins etc.;

    • Informing management about cleaning supplies needed etc.;

    • May be assigned special tasks such as cleaning before and after big projects.

    Skills Include

    • Great interpersonal and communication skills

    • Proactivity and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

    • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to multi-task
