Role Description
Sanlam Business Intelligence (SBI) is a centre of excellence delivering data and analytical services to Sanlam’s retail businesses, which provide a comprehensive range of financial solutions across different marketing segments.

Your responsibilities will span all aspects of data analytics. From working with business representatives and product owners to define and elicit requirements, to preparing and analysing data from varying sources, to building dashboards that highlight key information and insights.

Qualifications
Bachelors degree (information systems/statistics/data or computer science/engineering) or equivalent
Functional experience in analytics, data visualisation or reporting.
Knowledge and Experience
1-2 years of experience manipulating data sets and building dashboards
Business experience in financial services would be advantageous
Strong analytical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with data in various data sources and databases
Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects), databases (SAP HANA, Cloudera), querying (SQL)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical terms.
Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.

Who are we?
Sanlam Group Technology and Information (GTI) is responsible for Group-wide Technology and Information Governance, Technology Architecture oversight and guidance as well as the Group’s Cyber Security oversight and governance. What will you do?
The role of the Cyber Security Operations Consultant: Security Operations will form part of the Sanlam team which focusses on Cyber Security Operations services to businesses on the Shared Sanlam Network. The team is responsible for the management of the PKI, Anti-Virus, Vulnerability Management, Security Configuration Management, Firewall compliance, Web and Email content filtering environments. The team also manages the Data Leakage Prevention, Network Access Management, and Privileged Account Management infrastructure and processes.
What will make you successful in this role?
On a day-to-day basis, the Analyst will be involved with the configuration, monitoring, and management of:
Anti Virus Infrastructure
Data Leakage Prevention system, rules, and reports
The Privileged Account Management process
Network Access Control – process and exception handling
Vulnerability Scanning, reporting, proposing remediation actions and tracking compliance
Security hardening baseline compliance scanning, reporting, and remediation
On an ad hoc basis the consultant will support businesses in:
Issuing, renewing and revoking PKI digital certificates.
Assessing internet and email use on request of Forensics or HR departments.
The consultant will also be performing scheduled tasks like review Firewall rule configuration and report
The consultant will be required to report on the status of the cybersecurity control environments on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
The consultant will continuously consider ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of monitoring and response controls.
The consultant will contribute to the Knowledge and Skills of the team, by sharing lessons learned and knowledge gained through research, conferences, training courses or interaction with experts.
Qualification and Experience
Completed a matric qualification
Cybersecurity certification (Advantageous)
At least 3 – 5 years in hands-on technical experience which includes:
Network experience (TCP/IP, Firewalls, IPS, NAC)
Operating System management and Hardening (Windows, Linux, CIS hardening baselines)
Anti-Virus System management and Configuration
Data Leakage Prevention tool configuration
Logical Access Management (AD, PAM)
Information Security Operations (Security+, CISSP will be beneficial)
Vulnerability Management (use of well-known vulnerability scanning tools and interpretation of CVSS scores)
Some experience working with Web and Email Content filtering systems
A solid understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) will be beneficial.

Guided by Senior and Lead Analysts, this role will be responsible for sourcing and transforming a wide range of data across the business into formats that can be used by end users to develop differentiating business insights.
We are looking for an individual with experience in using a variety of data tools, analysis methods and data visualization to turn data into actionable insights with demonstrable business impact.
They will assist in specifying complex business rules using the specified toolsets to enable the Data Modellers to create complex analytical models. Hence, they need to understand and continuously seek to build knowledge of data and information.
The person fulfilling this role will not only analyse data models, but also test the outputs, investigate & troubleshoot data issues and devise solutions in line with best practice. A high competency in problem solving capabilities is thus essential. They should be able to communicate business information to technical teams, as well as be competent in communicating challenges and solutions to the team.
The successful candidate will have to demonstrate flexibility across the BI team working on multiple data, digital transformation as well as analytics type of initiatives.
An understanding of data management solutions and a keen sense of the strategic value of information to an organisation will be of importance.
