    Shift Supervisor

    The Logistics team is looking for a Shift Supervisor for the Ladysmith area to join their team

    As Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following activities:

    • Supervise and handle the operations of the plant to ensure all depot / gantry activities and products received, handled and issued are done so safely and efficiently thereby contributing to improved controls.
    • Effective stock control to ensure: Stock gains/losses are within accepted norms/standards to minimise stock losses. Products are reconciled daily to maintain quality control.
    • Control the loading and issuing of all products in the plant to ensure: The right product, in the right time, at the right quantity against set service levels and transport KPI’s to meet customer requirements and improve the efficiency and optimisation of the transport.
    • Prepare incident/accident reports and perform regular gantry inspections for non-compliance by drivers to Work Instruction, housekeeping and vehicle operating requirements to ensure a reduction in incidents and compliance to transport legislation.
    • Supervise and control the offloading of product by checking tank capacities, correct pumping and completing relevant documentation to ensure no contamination of the tanks and effective stock and quality control.
    • Supervise operational crises and problems pertaining to the depot by activating contingency plans and advising all affected parties so as to avoid any/minimal disruption of the operational activity in the plant.
    • Ensure efficient customer service by resolving all customer queries / problems expediently thereby contributing to improved customer perceptions.
    • Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by the Depot Supervisor or Manager.

    HSEQ

    • Supervise the HSSEQ of the depot to ensure constant adherence and compliance to the Company’s standards, any local by-laws and government legislation. This to minimise all risk pertaining to the company’s assets and stock, be an excellent corporate citizen, remain operational and ensure the safety of all people.
    • Supervise operational crises and problems pertaining to the depot by activating contingency plans and advising all affected parties so as to avoid any/minimal disruption of the operational activity in the terminal.
    • To effectively manage and minimise the risk associated with depot operations by ensuring:
    • Compliance with all HSE Policies, rules, guidelines and legal requirements within area of responsibility;
    • Promotion of safe working environment and positively contributing to the company HSE KPI’s and risk reduction strategies
    • Ensure that HSE competency requirements are enforced within area of responsibility

    Legal

    • Comply to OHS-ACT 1 Appoint 8.2i b) legal compliance to national, environmental and local laws c) appointment and monitoring of Health and Safety Committees (including: Safety Officer, Fire Team and First Aid)
    • Assist with the Optimising of TSA’s use of Depot assets and ensure compliance to NERSA licence conditions.

    Plant Assistant

    The operations team is looking for a Plant Assistant for the Nelspruit area to join their team.

    In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

    • To dip tanks and record dips/ temperature accurately.
    • Ullage and decant rail tank cars
    • Assist with tank / valve preparation for product receipts.
    • To load/ decant bulk trucks and assist BVO’s in loading/offloading of bulk trucks.
    • To attend to COC customers, contractors and other visitors requiring service, and carry out administrative duties related to these services.
    • Replenish the bulk additive stock by decanting bulk additive trucks/additive drums.
    • To monitor and report any unsafe conditions and acts to immediate supervisor.
    • Conduct minor maintenance with guidance from Supervisor / Manager.
    • To ensure that the premises are kept clean and maintain housekeeping standards.
    • Comply with Depot safety procedures and work instructions.
    • Shift and weekend work to extend the offloading time at the depot as set out on the rooster by the depot supervisor as required
    • Report all accidents/incidents as per policy, using near miss booklet and Intelex system and implement corrective actions where necessary.
    • Conduct quality testing of product samples from road/rail receipts and any other samples requested by the Supervisor/Manager
    • Ensure compliance to TOM-TOM and invariants requirements
    • To perform any other duties as reasonably requested by the Shift Supervisor /Depot Supervisor/Fuel Controller or Manager.

    Contexte et Environnement
    You will contribute towards ensuring the operation of the depot are done within the framework of relevant legislation and regulations governing the Industry thus ensuring high customer service levels with the aim of contributing to the effective management and efficient operation of the terminal.
    Profil recherché

    • Qualification : Matric or National Diploma/BTech in Engineering / Logistics
    • 0 - 3 years experience gained in a petrochemical, production, and warehousing or industrial environment

    • Assist with the practical training of Operations and Management trainees and employees from other Terminals and Interns through on-the-job training and rotation within the plant that will result in meeting the objective of the training programme.
    • Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by the Terminal Supervisor or Manager.
    • Shift handover completed as per TOM- TOM requirements
    • Site handover log book updated daily
    • Maintenance and operation of VRU to ensure proper function.
    • Alignment and maintenance to Integrity management and TOM- TOM / EDOC/TRA requirements

    HSEQ

    • To comply to site rules
    • Contribute in achieving all set HSSEQ objectives (see attached Performance Objectives
