    Visual Merchandiser

    Job Purpose:

    The main responsibility of this position is to ensure that the Weylandts shopping experience is further enhanced by maintaining an organized, visually appealing and welcoming store environment.

    Reporting to the Showroom manager whilst getting direction from the Head office Visual Merchandising team, great emphasis and attention to detail is required. Responsibilities include ensuring stock is correctly merchandised and implementing floor plans and displays. Following Head Office directives, the VM must decorate, install and use personal initiative.

    Main accountabilities:

    • Ensure that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in store, working with store manager and other store employees. Doing floor walks 3 times a day.
    • Consistently achieve the ongoing installation and dressing of the required merchandising plan within the prescribed time frame which will involve working with the basement team and will include some lifting, carrying etc.
    • Ensure a high standard of visual merchandising in line with the company’s vision and brand identity in the respective store.
    • Required people skills to oversee basement Staff. assistance ensuring that all tasks allocated are completed professionally and on time.
    • Merchandising monthly promotional settings according to the company’s design directives.
    • Ensure aggressive replenishment of homeware/ furniture. Constantly checking stock levels of homeware in cage and not on the shop floor to ensure items are urgently replaced
    • Be involved in Homeware stock takes if required
    • Ensure ongoing maintaining/updating of the furniture display settings and homeware shelving/tables as per last floor/setting changes and/or directives from Head office. This requires regular communication with the Head Office VM team.
    • Assist customers and maintain a professional approach, selling when required.
    • Work as a member of the store team assisting colleagues whenever you have opportunity and available time to do so.
    • Ordering the correct flowers and plants for the store(s) timeously, and within the set budget.
    • Ensure required photos of shelving/settings are sent timeously and without exception to the merchandising department
    • Assisting in receiving, unpacking and checking in of homeware when relevant basement team member not available or high stock volumes are received.
    • Be aware of new product arrivals and lines to be discontinued and plan for this in advance with Head office. Maintain superior product knowledge.

    Technical competencies:

    • This position requires education to at least Matric level (ideally post Matric diploma in Interior decorating field) along with a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role and environment/brand. The Visual Merchandiser is an integral part of the company’s overall performance; in terms of image, the shopping experience, perception and brand equity.
    • The job holder must have a good eye for furniture settings and homeware and be creative. He/ she must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of company and merchandising policies and procedures as well as an understanding of how a retail outlet or store operates. They must have strong administrative skills, excellent product knowledge and passion for Weylandts furniture and homeware. They must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.

    • The job holder must be able to demonstrate a creative, positive, hands-on, can-do attitude, pro-active ability. He or she must take responsibility for their work, be a team player, be accurate and have above average customer relation skills.
    • He or she must also be able to work well under pressure, manage floor and other priorities on an ongoing basis, and be able to add value to the Weylandts shopping experience. They must be physically fit as this position requires lifting etc from time to time.

    Graphic Designer (GD-HO)

    This role involves working within the Marketing team on a variety of different design activities.

    Main responsibilities:

    • Working alongside the Senior Graphic Designer on all creative assets
    • Involved in the brainstorming and creation of all digital assets
    • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas for installations, in-store signage, logo design, brochures, EDM layout design and highlighted installations, which are in line with each season’s concepts.  Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time.
    • Taking briefs from the buying team to design product packaging as and when required.
    • Providing visual communication to store visual merchandisers on in-store executions and concepts.
    • Responsible for managing and developing content for the Pinterest account as well as assisting with content ideas across all social media channels.

    Skills Required:

    • A 3-4 year degree/diploma in Visual Communication/Graphic Design is pre-requisite as well as excellent technical knowledge of Adobe Suite design software.
    • A minimum 3 – 4 years graphic design experience.
    • Below the line and branding experience.
    • Home and décor brand experience will be a plus, but not limited to it.
    • Incumbent must demonstrate a passion for interior décor & design; will be creative & passionate about the Weylandts brand, eager to use their skills to maximise the brand look and sales potential. Creative flair, originality and strong visual sense as well as a keen interest in keeping up to date with new developments in the design/retail industry is essential. 

    Competencies:

    • The job holder must be able to demonstrate positive hands on, can-do attitude. He or she must be able to work independently, yet be a team player. They must be positive, energetic, a self-starter and have excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.  Being able to work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines and producing a high quality of work is pre-requisite.

    Retail Manager (RM-NEL)

    JOB PURPOSE:
    This position is responsible for the overall management and day to day operations of a Weylandts showroom.

    MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    Financial Management

    • Ensure that the store meets and exceeds turnover and gross profit targets
    • Ensure compliance with discount management KPI
    • Expense management
    • Stock control

    General administration

    • Brand Management 360°
    • Maintain general housekeeping and Visual Merchandising integrity (includes all areas of the premises)
    • Drive exceptional customer service
    • Execution of exceptional business processes
    • Ensure compliance with in-store music, dress code and customer engagement

    People management

    • Management and motivation of all staff
    • Training and development of all staff, including performance management

    Operational management

    • Ensure that processes detailed below are executed efficiently and as per company policy: Sales, Stock management, Point of sale, Visual Merchandising, Back of house
    • Ensure compliance with company/ internal terms and conditions

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Grade 12/ Matric
    • Relevant diploma/ degree

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • Minimum of 10 years work experience, with at least 5 years at operational management level
    • Previous experience in consumer-centric environment
    • Proven record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
    • Proven aptitude in analyzing and interpreting sales figures, understanding financial indicators and budget management
    • Comfortable working with different systems and technology, including POS and stock management systems
    • Must be available to work retail hours including weekends and public holidays
    • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle essential

    Marketing Traffic Co-ordinator (MTC-HO)

    Job Purpose:

    The Marketing Traffic Coordinator reports to the Marketing Manager and is responsible for managing the workflow and executions within the Marketing team, ensuring that deadlines and briefs are met.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • The Traffic Coordinator will ensure the workflow is efficiently directed to and from the marketing team. Coordinating the work of the Marketing team and managing the briefing process -  ensuring clear alignment on expectations and deliverables
    • Schedule and traffic work from external teams such as Homeware & Furniture Buying, Visual merchandising and Weylandtstudio teams into the creative team from small to large workflows across digital, BTL and ATL
    • Review and agree the scope of work, schedules and budgets with the Marketing Manager and Lead Creative to prepare a framework for planning workflow
    • Manage the product imagery lifecycle – ordering product to the photo studio to be shot for the website and content calendar in a timeous manner and ensuring that shoot briefs are adhered to
    • Assist the Marketing Manager with any additional adhoc marketing activities such as event coordination, photoshoot production admin, store requirements or market research
    • Be proactive in meeting all deadlines, ensuring projects are sent for proof, released, and approved on time
    • Plan and facilitate planning meetings to ensure team is aligned and deadlines are met
    • Managing the internal server to ensure that all completed work is archived in an organised fashion

    Requirements:

    • Diploma or degree in Marketing or logistics (advantageous)
    • 3-5 years of experience in a Marketing Production and traffic role within ad agency or in-house Studio
    • Experience and understanding of retail environment and a feel for décor, trends and the premium retail market advantageous
    • Strong administration and coordination skills

    Sales Administrator (POS-NEL)

    Job Purpose:
    Our Sales Administrators contribute to creating a fantastic customer experience for our clients. Through your enthusiasm and love for the Weylandts brand you will handle your responsibilities efficiently and with pride. Working with our Sales Consultants you will be responsible for ensuring that the customer experience is enhanced by a professional and timely sales admin service.

    Main Accountabilities:

    • Welcoming and engaging clients to our branch, creating a warm, friendly and professional environment, with excellent customer service at all times
    • Handle client sales and orders, including generating invoices and quotations, gathering delivery details and handling of payments
    • Handling cash floats, including balancing daily cash ups
    • Ensuring that all data gathered from customers and sales consultants is accurate (product codes, delivery addresses, etc.)
    • Answering telephones in a professional manner and answering queries efficiently
    • Generating various branch reports as required, carrying out all related administration, including stock requests from other branches
    • Assisting customers confidently with sales of Homeware products
    • Assisting consultants and merchandisers with housekeeping on the store floor when required (e.g. labels – items priced and displayed correctly)
    • Assists with stock takes as instructed by the manager
    • Handling customer complaints as far as possible, and escalating or referring appropriately when necessary
    • Ensure that all work, administratively or customer-related is carried out according to company policy and procedures at all times

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12
    • Excellent organisational and admin skills
    • Good understanding of sales, retail and distribution processes
    • MS Office, Syspro (or any other ERP)
    • Previous experience in a customer-facing environment (ideally in retail or hospitality)
    • Fluent in English
