    Integrated Planning Advisor (Simulation)

    Job Description:

    As our Integrated Planning Advisor, you will be responsible to support the roll out and embedding of the Operating Model and become internal subject matter experts providing advice and guidance to the Operational and Leadership Teams on the application of the methodology by: 

    • Operational Planning (OP) assistance to be given to Kumba Head Office, and if needs be to Sishen and Kolomela
    • Develop, calibrate, enhance, and sustain the OP models to fulfil the Operating Model requirements
    • Assist in running simulations with the OP models for business and packaging information to support decision making.
    • The incumbent will be expected to assist the Specialist Operational Planning in interpreting the OM Operational Planning and Set Performance Targets (SPT) models to Set Production Strategy (SPS) for the following years
    • Provide AAOM process & Business Improvement advice to enable improvement projects / initiatives, including:
    • Identifying areas of improvement through data analysis
    • Assist with setting up improvement projects
    • Identification of key stakeholders and resources
    • Setting up objectives and tracking KPI’s
    • Assistance and guidance with data collection, analysis, interpretation, reporting and review
    • Identification of potential actions in response to outcome of analysis
    • Support the BEP process in terms of data analysis, trends, interpretation of data and reporting on findings

    This role is in the Business Improvement department on a band 6 and reports to the Principal Integrated Planning

    Qualifications:

    You will be required to have the following: 

    • B. Tech or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, Metallurgical, Civil, Chemical Engineering or Geology
    • Lean 6 Sigma, Project Management and Data Analytics Certification will be an advantage 
    • Solid Simulation experience is mandatory (SIMIO)

    Knowledge:

    • Advance experience in SIMIO or similar simulation software is essential
    • PowerBI Reporting platform competence is essential
    • Practical experience in mining (preferably open pit mining) will be advantageous
    • Relevant Project Management Experience.
    • Experience in identifying and implementing business improvement opportunities and projects at mines.
    • Advanced computer Literacy (MS Office, Projects, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Being able to provide improvement direction to multi-disciplinary teams

    Operator Grade 2 - JIGS Modular (Shifts)

    Job Description: You will provide operational service. 

    Your responsibilities will include: 

    • Adhere to all health and safety practices requirements and promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance and an environment where team members can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment. 
    • Building and levelling of slime dams and waste dump areas according to specifications.  
    • Maintain the waste dump and slime dam levels, and inclines to the waste dump accordingly  
    • Undertake to the hauling of waste and spillage material to the allocated waste dumps.  
    • Inspect plant equipment & machinery continuously & report on any deviations. 
    • Effective handover of relevant information to the next shift’s counterpart 
    • Monitor equipment behavior to prevent any malfunctions. 
    • Abnormal conditions are rectified and/or reported and followed-up. 
    • Production deviations, abnormal  and high risks conditions are punctually reported
    • The supply of material and water from different sources is synchronised in order to form a balanced beneficiation process 
    • Equipment is inspected and any deviation in condition is rectified and/or reported immediately. 
    • Maintenance artisans are assisted by performing pre-identified activities 
    • Provide assistance according to own level / area of competence and in accordance with company policies to the Supervisor and co-workers when instructed or during the absence of the responsible person, to ensure achievement of functional objectives 
    • Conduct inspection of earth-moving equipment according to prescribed standards and recorded in the inspection list.

    Permitting Coordinator Integration & Planning

    Job Description:

    We are currently seeking a Permitting Coordinator Integration and Planning to join our Platinum family. This is a key role within the team where you will be responsible for: 

    • Reviewing and maintaining the project pipeline streams emanating from Life of Asset Plan, Stay In Business, New technologies and social projects into a 5 year plus view for the site
    • Providing support for permitting screening, drafting of permitting plans and permit registers and link these to the integrated permitting schedule.
    • Integrating various permitting schedules into a single integrated schedule and ensuring that they are maintained and kept up to date.
    • Keeping the permitting manager informed of the potential risks and mitigation measures around permit acquisition processes for permits listed on the integrated schedule.
    • Compiling monthly updates on the status of the schedule and reporting on progress and identify issues requiring escalation
    • Monitoring the required feedback, input, and timeframe on permit acquisitions
    • Facilitating regular integrated acquisition meetings
    • Driving delivery of the sustainability activities as relevant to discipline and set out in the Life of Asset Plan to improve sustainability performance over time

    This role is in the Operations Department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Permitting Manager

    Qualifications:

    • Diploma/Degree in a relevant discipline. E.g., Environmental Management, Law, Mine Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Geologist, or related careers.

    Experience:

    • At least 5 years in similar positions in mining or energy companies, law firms, consulting or in a public agency.
    • Extensive knowledge of new project development issues and or operation issues within the extractive industries or another relevant sector, if possible, with a strong focus on coordinating permit acquisition and managing permitting schedules
    • Strong understanding of the technical and non-technical factors that affect permit acquisition.
    • Obtain the projects detail as it relates to scope, time frames, activities etc.
    • Ability to engage across all the disciplines relevant to permitting acquisition and project management with conditions attached to permits and ensures effective coordination between these disciplines.
    • Excellent communication skills, orderly work.
    • Broad familiarity with regulatory environments in RSA.
    • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage projects schedule

    • Conduct the physical condition inspections as per schedule and associated documentation

    Accounts Payable Supervisor

    Job Description:

    Ensure effective and efficient service delivery of all Accounts Payable activities related to the scanning, classification of documentation, processing of invoices, queries and reconciliations to the Business Units in line with the Service Level Agreements.

    Miner - Postmasburg

    Job Description:

    As a Miner, you will be responsible for the following:

    • Drilled holes (primary and secondary blasting) are measured according to plan to determine accurate quantity of explosives and accessories
    • Accurate quantity of blasting accessories is obtained from the explosive magazine
    • Blasting holes are charged with the prescribed explosives to ensure required fragmentation
    • The blasting area is inspected for misfires & unsafe conditions after the blasting operation & declared safe for normal operations
    • All surplus and damaged explosives are destroyed after each blasting operation according to the Mine Health & Safety Act
    • Blasting report is compiled and forwarded to the supervisor within agreed
    • Exercising control over explosives
    • Exercising the necessary control over activities so that it does not have adverse effect on the environment and the immediate community.
    • Sub-ordinates are effectively deployed & their tasks proactively planned to ensure smooth production operation
    • Outputs are delivered within the agreed timeframes & add value to the business
    • Observe and enforce any codes of practice; any instructions, procedures, directive, permissions, exemptions etc. issued by the mine, the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy or any other person who is authorised to do so.
    • Good housekeeping standards are maintained

    Job Description:

    As Operator Shift Control Room, you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include: 

    • Ensure compliance to SHE requirements
    • Monitor CCTV cameras and initiate appropriate response to suspicious activities.
    • Monitor computerized burglar and fire alarm systems and initiate appropriate response to alarm activations.

    Senior Technical Services Manager

    Job Description:

    Manages and co-ordinates the Technical Services Unit (comprising of Project management, Engineering disciplines and Research & Development) to ensure sound technical support and technology, delivering operational efficiency and solutions that will maximize shareholder value and growth in line with the De Beers Marine objectives.

    • Manage the establishment of Engineering standards, specifications and service levels according to organizational objectives to ensure maximum operational availability. 
    • Manage the provision of technical knowledge management services e.g. Document control, Configuration Management, Knowledge Database Management, Information Management etc
    • Deliver to and support the Technical Operations unit to ensure the effective delivery of shut-downs, rotable maintenance
    • Compile the Business Unit Risk Log and manage significant risk according to sound risk management practice and organizational requirement 
    • Management of the safety performance of the unit ensuring the continued enhancement of the safety culture towards Zero Harm

    Qualifications:

    • University Honours Degree in Engineering (minimum 4 years)
    • Leadership Development Programmes 
    • Experience at middle to senior management level (7 to 10 yrs)
    • Technology/engineering development experience an advantage

    Good knowledge and experience of:

    • Development of complex, sophisticated technical solutions to operate in extreme environments
