    Head of Function Exec: Business Performance

    Job Purpose

    We are looking for a Head of Function Business Performance to join our team. In this you will be required to use analytic processes that will closely monitor cluster performance against the key business drivers to effectively manage financial and non-financial objectives and measures in order to ensure that growth is achieved. You will also be required to provide guidance in various spheres of business, including corporate strategy, business transformation, digital and innovation capabilities.


    Job Responsibilities

    • Lead and carry out strategic insight projects to help explore and leverage Nedbank’s data assets to gain a deeper understanding of what our customers value.
    • Using customer feedback to ascertain how we should adjust to meet the changing landscape across the Cluster, by providing workable solutions to improve business performance
    • Take a holistic approach in managing Cluster performance of key business drivers across Cluster
    • Identify problems or weaknesses in the efficiency of business operations and advise ways to improve them.
    • Analyse and drive insights to help the business perform better e. g. NiR new revenue opportunity, operational metric to drive competitiveness
    • Monitor strategic initiatives and provide guidance and advisory to the business where there are gaps.
    • Ensure high quality, efficient and effective delivery of Business Intelligence, from different sources to provide a consolidated and integrated view of the business in new ways.
    • Assess past performance against current business practices,research potential solutions for lowering costs and increasing market share.
    • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
    • Conduct market sizing to determine market, banking and provide insight to the business on how these impact our strategic choices.
    • Conduct Internal analysis of ‘strategic assets’ and business data to identify and determine opportunities or threats.
    • Conduct a comparative analysis of competitors insights to understand key areas of differentiation and gaps to close.
    • Conduct scenario planning analysis on the impact of different strategic projects and the possible impact expected.
    • Manage team effectively and efficiently across the HR value chain including recruitment, performance management, retention of critical staff , succession planning and coaching and talent management.

    Essential Qualification

    • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
    • Honours Degree in Strategy or Research

    Minimum Experience Level

    • 7 - 10 years Business Planning experience
    • Implementation of strategy and problem-solving skills with an analytical, innovative, and creative mindset

    Head of Function Behavioural Economics Specialist

    Job Purpose

    We are looking for an experienced Behavioural Economics Specialist to join our team. In this role you will be required to build a new strong Behavioral Economics (BE) capability that will differentiate Nedbank in delivering a client centered strategy by deepening our understanding of both retail banking and business banking clients to improve and transform their money management behaviors.


    Job Responsibilities

    • Provide actionable, easy to understand insights in a practical manner without losing the essence of BE methodology.
    • Harness biases and heuristics to drive behavior change using techniques lapplicable to the BE methodology.
    • Design, implement, and analyze business experiments to identify causal relationships and drive behavioral change
    • Generate Insights from experimental and observational data using statistical analyses and econometric techniques.
    • Develop and test analytical solutions by iteratively prototyping and measuring the impact of proposed solutions.
    • Prioritise what will benefit the business by working strategically across the business with a commercial mindset to create differentiation that will be difficult for competitors to copy.
    • Collaborate with design thinking team to ensure BE principles are incorporated in how we design, solution and commercialise for clients.
    • Conduct review of best practices, key success factors, and lessons learned from the different behavioural insights units around the world; and make them applicable to Nedbank.
    • Collaborate with the Education and Advisory team to institutionalise BE across the organisation.
    • Deliver responsive, data-driven consumer and business understanding and insights to inform Customer Value Proposition Strategy (CVPS) and solutions taken to market
    • Prioritise where the team should focus to unlock value.
    • Conduct research and statistical competence to be able to set up an experiment robustly in a corporate environment, set hypothesis and be able to test them and provide actionable recommendations
    • Design & drive hypothesis to inform research questions and support research interventions in assessing behavioural engagements.
    • Collaborate with Data analysts to guide how they use data to test hypothesis identified .
    • Build a connected toolbox for behavioural data and research working closely with the Research & Insights team.
    • Connect the dots, synthesising the data from divergent sources and the theories and findings of the various specialists to help identify new opportunities for the bank
    • Collaborate on the design of new experiences, products, and services to improve people's financial well-being.
    • Build strong Stakeholder management relationships to gain buy-in and support for BE.
       

    Essential Qualification

    • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
    • Masters Degree in Behavioral Sciences, Applied Statistics or related field

    Minimum Experience Level

    • 7 - 10 Years Behavioural Economic experience
    • Implementation of strategy and problem-solving skills ,an analytical, innovative, and creative mindset.
