    Systems Analyst – POS / OMNI

    Job Description        

    The Systems Analyst for POS / OMNI will provide effective analysis for system enhancements as well as maintenance and support (including out of hours) for the applications and systems in the POS / OMNI area of responsibility. The Systems Analyst will participate in system design, configuration, testing, and documentation to meet business requirements within the product scope according to Cape Union Mart Group best practices.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Effective analysis of systems and business requirements aligned with delivering key business objectives and IT strategy.
    • Technical support and maintenance of the POS / OMNI systems, through the effective resolution of incidents and problems, including after-hours standby and support where necessary.
    • Work effectively in a diverse team environment and create relationships for problem-solving and positive interactions.
    • Participate in requirements analysis, solution mapping, configuration, and documentation to meet business needs.
    • Identify the root cause of issues through trend and pattern analysis and recommend and implement appropriate solutions.
    • Work with Development and Engineering teams and Third Parties to design and implement robust Point of Sale (POS) and OMNI solutions.
    • Definition and execution of test plans and procedures to ensure the successful implementation of system changes.
    • Work with team members to configure, implement, monitor, and maintain QA and production environments.
    • Perform admin and housekeeping for POS / OMNI systems.
    • Design and develop bespoke features in MSSQL, PL/SQL.
    • Assist in end-user training.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience.
    • Technical or Related Tertiary Qualification

    Skills / Experience (Essential):

    • 3+ years of experience in systems analysis in a retail environment.
    • 2+ years of experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
    • 1 to 2 years' experience with MSSQL, PL/SQL development such as stored procedures, functions, data extracts, database backup and restore procedures.
    • Experience providing Tier 2/3 customer support in an IT environment.
    • Experience providing remote support and troubleshooting.
    • Exposure to Command Line, PowerShell and PowerShell Scripting.
    • Organizational skills.
    • Oral and written communication skills.
    • Analytical thinking and problem solving.
    • Ability to work well in a rapidly changing environment.
    • Ability to work independently but must also be a good team player.

    Skills / Experience (Desirable):

    • Experience with integration technologies such as API’s, XML, SOAP, JSON and REST.
    • Python experience.
    • Exposure to point-of-sale, ecommerce payment switching functionality.
    • Exposure to point-of-sale, ecommerce project implementations.
    • Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, TCP/IP protocols and application.

    • Establish a professional relationship with customers and provide friendly, helpful, courteous assistance and advice to all customers.
    • Report customer compliments and complaints to management.
    • Attend to all customer stock queries and ensure that they dealt with and resolved.
