    Duties & Responsibilities    
    POSITION TASKS:

    The incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:
    Administration and Document Control

    • Ensure that all employee tax and Pay As You Earn (PAYE) processes are correctly and timeously implemented and executed
    • File employee tax (e.g. PAYE) source documentation and reports in line with legislative and business requirements
    • Conduct regular quality checks on documentation to ensure compliance and correctness
    • Ensure all employee tax related information is available and timeously distributed
    • Contribute towards continuous improvement and processes

    Compliance, Governance and Assurance

    • Make recommendations to ensure that all PAYE and employee tax related services delivered are compliant to SARS legislation and company business rules
    • Execute responsibilities in a manner that is in accordance to guidelines and standards associated with Human Resources (HR) services
    • Comply with HR service delivery metrics, standards and guidelines
    • Ensure compliance to applicable policies, processes, procedures and applicable statutory laws and regulations
    • Address discrepancies/unlawful practices by reporting it to the manager
    • Apply ethical principles in the practice and processing of HR relevant data

    Customer and Client Relationship Management

    • Liaise and manage internal and external relationships to pro-actively address and resolve PAYE related queries, obtain information and action potential changes timeously

    Functional Management

    Internal Business Processes

    • Approve and execute the PAYE and tax submissions
    • Reconcile employees’ tax (monthly, bi-annually and annually) and submit returns/tax certificates to SARS via E-filing
    • Reconcile and balance monthly tax and ensure that monthly payments and returns are submitted timeously to SARS via E-filing
    • Verify tax certificates against the year to date payroll statistical report per employee and report errors
    • Finalise the tax year end including reconciliation of PAYE paid and the PAYE deducted, submitting of the electronic IRP5 file to SARS, and reconciling of IRP5's
