    Publishing Assistant | Uitgewersassistent (NB Publishers)

    The Publishing Assistant's key responsibilities are:

    • handling all administrative functions regarding manuscript submissions, payment of freelancers and competitions

    • general support to editorial staff, also with regards to e-book publications
    • general administrative support, including reception and general enquiries
    • liaison with authors and freelancers

    Requirements:

    • a B degree or relevant general administrative/secretarial experience

    Account Manager - Pretoria

    Main Purpose of the Job            

    Print and online advertising (Beeld, Rapport, City Press, News24 and Netwerk24) sales

    Responsible and accountable for managing the relationship, advertising activities and revenue inflow from advertising clients

    Job Outputs     

    • Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers
    • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs
    • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships
    • Reach out to customer leads through cold calling
    • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
    • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes
    • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments
    • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
    • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends

    The main function of a marketing intern is to support the marketing coordinator with the overall marketing campaigns and events (internal and external). The Marketing intern will typically assist with a wide range of tasks related to the overall marketing and communication strategy.

    The main purpose of the role is to support marketing in their develop and implementation strategies to create sales opportunities across Media24 News and Digital platforms.

    Key responsibilities:

    •  Marketing Strategy Execution: Aid in the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans, ensuring alignment with our brand's vision and goals.
    • Promotional Activities: Efficiently manage the distribution of marketing materials to enhance our brand's presence and engagement.
    • Event Coordination: Take charge of organizing and executing both internal and external events, ensuring they run smoothly and meet our objectives.
    • Campaign Management: Support the launch and monitoring of marketing campaigns for trade media partners

    Qualifications and experience:

    Main Purpose:

    Produce relevant, compelling and factually correct news, analysis, feature and other content on issues relevant and pertaining to KwaZulu-Natal for News24 and its national audience to strict deadlines each day.

     Job Outputs:

    • Investigate and research article content for news, analysis and feature stories on newsworthy issues and events in KwaZulu-Natal and South Africa;
    • Produce enterprise news ideas and stories focusing on court and crime, education, politics, social ills and human interest which will set the national news agenda;
    • Produce breaking news according to News24’s standards and norms;
    • Maintain and grow a diverse network of contacts across all sectors, including, but not limited to, provincial, local and national government, schools, universities, think tanks, NGOs and interest groups.
