    Asset Care Team Leader

    About the role

    • Work at the tier 1 & 2 to deliver Asset Care functional expertise across the area/site and lead the shift Asset Care Technicians and support asset care support team to resolve complex equipment problems    
    • Actively lead and sponsor capex and innovation activity at site level   
    • Lead and advocate good governance around internal and external compliance (health & safety, quality and environment).  
    • Continuous Improvement - accountable for specialist improvement activity  
    • Provide high levels of specialist support to the operations teams.  
    • Proactively lead on performance analysis that drives improvement actions that address adverse performance trends.  
    • Lead the MMS Asset Care deployment within the Asset Care areas of responsibility.  
    • Work with Operating Equipment Manufacturers to drive faster problem solving and greater plant availability   
    • Support in delivery of outstanding performance in all aspects of the balanced scorecard (Safety, Quality, Environment, Asset Care, Delivery, Productivity, Cost and Morale).  
    • Deliver and improve performance targets in safety, quality, service, cost and asset care.   

    Role Responsibilities: TE

    Experience / skills required:   

    • A qualified time served trade (Mechanical) or local equivalent is essential  
    • Relevant IBD qualification (General Certificate in Spirits/Beer Packaging) or willing to complete. 
    • Minimum N6 or Equivalent trade test  
    • Minimum of 5 years in an FMCG environment , Preferably bottling  

    Experience :   

    • Ability to manage people performance, coaching and development of a multi-disciplined team  
    • At least 5 years supervisory experience in an operations environment  
    • Proficient in use of standard business tools MS Office, SAP and Diageo specific systems  
    • Understanding of Asset Performance and maintenance philosophy with excellent Process Improvement and a solid foundation in process understanding and problem solving (eg root cause analysis)  
    • Thorough working knowledge and demonstrated expertise in all areas of plant   
    • Proactive structured problem-solving skills learnt through exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, TPM or Manex  
    • Expert knowledge of RCPS, 5S, Set Up Time Reduction, Autonomous Maintenance   
    • Basic financial awareness, understanding of business drivers, budgeting processes.   
    • Project Management skills & experience  
    • Track record of maintenance management - KPI improvement, planning effectiveness and adherence to ClI  
    • Functioned in an environment with FSSC accreditation with clear understanding of how maintenance influences food safety and quality.  

    Desirable:  

    • Good working knowledge of Environmental legislation and standards  
    • Best in class people management practices  
    • Commercial understanding of production & supply chain management. Financially aware - Capex, R&M  
    • Deep knowledge of ME, packaging, lean methodologies, process control, RCM  
    • SAP (or MRP systems), Planned Maintenance, Environmental and Quality and safety systems. 

    Accountabilities:

    • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Standards and compliance to maintenance regulatory standards at all times. 
    • Lead the deployment of the MMS Asset Care practices in the shift asset care teams and within the support team  
    • Lead the specialist support team to ensure maximum equipment availability. 
    • Ensure the asset care team execute all scheduled specialist improvement activity.  
    • Attend and lead T1 and 2 daily asset care review meetings, and take appropriate action to provide support to course correct non-conformance. 
    • Continuously drives for next level of performance through review of Autonomous Maintenance, Asset Care and Focussed Improvement.   
    • Ensure effective management of spare parts. 
    • Review RCM activity on a weekly basis  
    • Take responsibility for the asset care budget and ensure most cost-effective solutions are executed. 
    • Develop team morale, recognise great performance and take timely action to address under performance where necessary. 
    • Role model and coach team in the use of problem-solving tools  
    • Apply specialist knowledge to lead improvement projects using DMAIC/RCPS methodology. 
    • Engage with the Daily Operational Review meetings to raise, discuss and follow up on persistent performance issues to root cause problem solving and effective control. 
    • Add to the maintenance system by optimising work schedules to add value. 
    • Carry out standby activities as and when required. 
    • Carry out audits and inspections on equipment deems to fall under legislative requirements. 
    • Able to run with and manage projects such eg.FI improvements. 
    • Flexible to work additional hours and/or over time hours as and when required. 
    • Manage people performance, coaching and development of a multi-disciplined team.

    • Is experienced in working within the Performance Management structure of KPI’s and Tier Review Meeting Structure   
    • Has a proven track record in adherence to Core Process and Standards   
    • Demonstrates role model behavior and coaches’ others to follow a consistent approach and go beyond mandatory minimum requirements.  
    • Proactively leverages the learning curriculums and materials on Diageo Academy and other sources to continuously grow and develop in role.

    Job Description :

    Purpose of Role

    • The role of the Consumer Planning team is to proactively provide a holistic, end-to-end view of the growth opportunities in our market and to guide the development of interventions to harness these opportunities from a culture, consumer and shopper point of view. This team is expected to uncover deep penetrating insights about occasions, purchasing and consumption behaviours and use these insights to inspire marketing strategies and plans which ensure we drive purchase through all channels.

    Top Accountabilities

    • Leads the proactive identification and communication of opportunities for growth for categories and brand by ensuring consumer and cultural insight is at the heart of relevant strategies and executions. Ensure these opportunities are present in the Category/Brand Vision and Strategy, with compelling ideas for execution
    • Collaborate with the marketing teams to enable the creation and/or execution of outstanding growth drivers by unleashing deep consumer and cultural understanding in combination with previous learnings (on this and other brands)
    • Create a sustainable and vibrant consumer culture across the Brand/Category team by leading by example in having a deep immersion and expertise in not only the consumer, but specifically popular culture, to ensure that growth drivers are culturally resonant and the enable cultural traction and fame for the brand
    • Own and lead the Marketing Business Planning process: provide strategic leadership, insight/key learning throughout the annual planning process.     • Drive an M&E culture to ensure continuous review of growth driver implementation, performance and continuous improvement of brand building efforts
    • Own all stages of primary and secondary research, from methodology selection to vendor management to maintaining high standards of reporting to ensure learning is presented in an actionable, inspiring way. Make judgment on which information to use and the level of confidence people should have in using it. Importantly, ensure all research is compliant with our Responsible Research Policy.
    • Manage and leverage external research agency partners to derive maximum value of the data and insight they provide

    Qualifications, Experience, and leadership

    • Relevant Degree
    • Minimum 7 years experience in market research – ideally with both client-side and agency-side experience.  
    • Candidate MUST be comfortable with all types of methodology (continuous, ad hoc qual and quant)
    • Proactively Defines Growth Opportunities: Takes the lead in understanding consumer and market contexts, identifying opportunities and threats for brands across short and long-term horizons, and effectively communicates these insights.
    • Solid Consumer Insights experience is essential
    • Strategic Planning: Develops robust plans and briefs grounded in a comprehensive understanding of consumers and market dynamics, with a sharp focus on driving profitable growth.
    • Working with Agencies: Maximizes the potential of ad hoc and continuous partners to optimize marketing strategies and executions.
    • Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E): Guides the business in selecting the most impactful growth drivers while discontinuing less effective strategies, ensuring resource allocation is aligned with strategic objectives.
