    Interior Designer (ID - HO)

    Job purpose & Scope:

    This role is responsible for the development of high-level concepts for design projects in conjunction with Senior Studio Designers. It also involves working with internal and external clients. This role will be involved with the occasional presentations to clients, designing floor plans and settings as well as creating project budgets, presentations and programs.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the Studio designer to create concepts and storyboards for upcoming projects.
    • Take initial client meetings and put together briefs.
    • Development of design and develop it to reality through production of floorplans and internal spatial layouts. Coordinate fabric and finishes presentations; Execute and manage furniture drawings, bespoke product with sufficient technical details for manufacture.
    • Presentation and daily communication to clients.
    • Set up project budgets for hand over to the admin and finance department.
    • Oversee and manage manufacture of furniture, with regular supplier visits.
    • Provide quality control over concepts and projects.
    • On-going research and filtering of trends, building up a database of ideas and solutions that benefit the Weylandts Studio brand.
    • Various visual presentations as requested. This will include designing floor plans and settings, pulling together product and pricing data and working closely with the responsible project manager to ensure professional and accurate presentation material.
    • Responsible for running projects from start to finish as well as oversee and crit the work of the junior designers.

    Technical Experience:

    • A diploma in Interior Design.
    • 5 – 7 years’ experience in commercial and residential interior design, where 4 years was as lead designer / managing projects.
    • Experience managing and mentoring junior designers. 
    • Technical knowledge of design software, e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUP (or similar 3D software) as well as photoshop.
    • Comprehensive MS Office skills.
    • A valid driver’s license and own transport.

    • Able to work independently, yet be a team player
    • Must be positive, energetic, a self-starter with excellent problem solving and decision making skills

    Retail Manager (RM - KV)

    Job purpose:
    This position is responsible for the overall management and day to day operations of a Weylandts showroom.

    Main accountabilities: 
    Financial Management

    • Ensure that the store meets and exceeds turnover and gross profit targets
    • Ensure compliance with discount management KPI
    • Expense management
    • Stock control
    • General administration

    Brand Management 360°

    • Maintain general housekeeping and Visual Merchandising integrity (includes all areas of the premises)
    • Drive exceptional customer service
    • Execution of exceptional business processes
    • Ensure compliance with in-store music, dress code and customer engagement

    People management

    • Management and motivation of all staff
    • Training and development of all staff, including performance management

    Operational management

    • Ensure that processes detailed below are executed efficiently and as per company policy: Sales, Stock management, Point of sale, Visual Merchandising, Back of house
    • Ensure compliance with company/ internal terms and conditions

    Qualifications: 

    • Grade 12/ Matric
    • Relevant diploma/ degree

    Experience and skills:  

    • Minimum of 10 years work experience, with at least 5 years at operational management level
    • Previous experience in consumer-centric environment
    • Proven record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
    • Proven aptitude in analyzing and interpreting sales figures, understanding financial indicators and budget management
    • Comfortable working with different systems and technology, including POS and stock management systems
    • Must be available to work retail hours including weekends and public holidays
    • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle essential

    Behavioral competencies: 
    We are looking for a customer-centric self-starter with high energy levels. You will need to have excellent communication and motivational skills to partner with EXCO and senior management to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through the delivery of excellent business processes.
