    Solution Area Specialist - Azure, Apps and Infrastructure

    The Small, Medium, and Corporate team helps businesses achieve their digital transformation goals by matching customer challenges with Microsoft solutions. Located in either a Digital Sales center, or a local subsidiary, you will help our managed customers across industries, company sizes and territories to identify their needs and opportunities using the latest in digital selling technology. One of the fastest growing customer segments in the industry, you will help customers get to the Microsoft Cloud across solution areas like Modern Work, Business Applications, Applications and Infrastructure, Data and AI, and Security.

    As an Azure Apps & Infrastructure Specialist, you are a business leader with technical expertise working with our most important managed customers. You will lead a virtual team of sales, technical, and services resources to help customers realize digital transformation through cloud computing achieve/exceed quarterly Azure Apps & Infrastructure consumption targets for related workloads in your assigned accounts. You possess both a high EQ with executive presence, able to engage with senior decision makers to uncover digital transformation initiatives, and a passion to learning how Azure cloud services can deliver digital transformation. You will develop and maintain an Azure Infrastructure and application migration expertise, able to identify projects, build a compelling business case, and drive the consumption project to production. You will build and maintain relationships with customers, influence long-term strategic direction and act as a trusted advisor driving engagement at the CXO level with technology decision makers. You will help customers evaluate their cloud strategy, determine approaches to application and data migration and modernization, and recommend solutions that meet their requirements.

    Responsibilities

    Sales Execution

    • Accountable for driving new engagements by delivering Azure competitive positioning for Azure Apps & Infrastructure workloads. Position Security, Data, Apps and Support unique competitive edge

    • Brings impactful industry insights into customer engagements and closes deals with customers. Acts as a thought leader across solution areas to advise customers across business functions on digital transformation. Leads virtual transformational shifts to drive deployment and create business value for customers. May lead partner integration into account/territory planning and customer engagements. Provides thought leadership.

    • Orchestrates with team members on conducting personal campaigns to discover new opportunities and generate new leads. Leads conversations with strategic/high-potential customers (e.g., high budget, global account, highly competitive) along with account teams or partners. Facilitates the account team unit (ATU) and/or Specialist Team Unit (STU) to build pipeline in collaboration with partners and services. Guides others on social selling. Applies Microsoft's sales process (MSP) to determine the quality of the opportunity and whether to proceed, and educate the customers on how to best address their needs.

    • Generate and maintain a qualified consumption engagement pipeline by executing against territory plans and the FY22 sales priorities, leveraging key Azure programs to accelerate project wins (AMMP, ESI, FTA)Explores and assesses the needs of strategic/high-potential customers.

    • Articulates business value and long-term implications for customer business. Collaborates with internal teams, partners, and services to lead the proposal or development of solutions that align with customer and Microsoft priorities. Analyzes market trends to identify opportunities for new solutions.

    • Proactively builds and governs external stakeholder network and leverages internal partners to engage external stakeholders. Acts as a thought leader and subject matter advisor to the executive-level business decision makers at the customer's/partner's business. Guides others on identifying and engaging decision makers and stakeholders to expand the relationship with customers/partners.

    • Develops strategies for driving and closing strategic and/or prioritized opportunities. Collaborates with account teams to ensure alignment with the account strategy and plan. Leads deal execution with the deal teams across the organization. Coaches others on the implementation of close plans (e.g., how to map timeline, engage the customer, get customer buy-in and commitment) to de-risk and drive predictable deal closure.

    Scaling and Collaboration

    • Maximize new Azure customer acquisition in your territory working closely with DSRs and partners to land new workload wins and apply RACA practices for sustainable growth

    • Leads the planning and execution on opportunities with resources and partners to cross-sell and up-sell. Identifies, leverages, and coordinates partners and resources across solution areas. Validates partner solution relevance for customers. Provides input and feedback to One Commercial Partner (OCP) on developing partner strategies and connects the partner ecosystems to scale business results.

    • Leads the sales orchestration with internal stakeholders and partners (e.g., Enterprise Operating Unit). Applies a holistic approach to build network across territories. Positions opportunities to promote collaboration and participation.

    Technical Expertise

    • Proactively deliver solution demonstrations, Whiteboarding, etc. of Azure Apps & Infrastructure platform and services to gain customer commitment through an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) and Business Case

    • Work closely with your territory aligned DSR, CSA an CE teams toto support delivery of technical proof required to win the technical decision and commercial ROI to secure new business

    • Leverage Customer Skilling Programs (VTD, CSC, ESI, OpenHacks , CSA-Led Workshops) to educate customers on Azure Capability & uncover new opp.

    Sales Excellence

    • Builds and transforms new markets by leveraging technical and industry expertise, partners, and resources. Leads a team to explore business and emerging opportunities to optimize the portfolio and facilitate customer innovation.

    • Reviews feedback report and sets long-term strategies aimed at maintaining levels of client satisfaction. Coaches others on ensuring customer/partner satisfaction and decreasing dissatisfaction by establishing recovery action plans to improve clients' overall experience. Manages and/or orchestrates sales and delivery success through the account team and pursuit team.

    • Engages with internal and external stakeholders on business planning, Rhythm of Business (ROB) meetings to review and plan for strategic accounts across territories.

    • Collaborates with extended sales team, partners, and marketing to lead business analysis (e.g., whitespace analysis, identify industry trends) to pursue high-potential customers and develop a target list of potential business. Acts as a thought leader and clears opinions and perspectives from business analysis.

    • Manages the end-to-end business for strategic accounts across the organization. Leads forecasting for accounts and develops a portfolio and territory plan to drive intentional selling with on-strategy engagements in high propensity accounts. Mentors junior team members.

    • Completes required training and obtains relevant product and role certifications aligned to the role and workload/industry. Proactively seeks training, including information that adds to the understanding of customers' business, and shares it with team members.

    Senior Data and Analytics Customer Engineer

    Responsibilities

CEs provide technical support including risk assessments and tuning to operate and optimize a customer’s cloud or on-premises environment. The Customer Engineer provides support delivery services as well as technical readiness through a Customer’s Support contract via dispatch by the account team. Customer Engineer services can be delivered either remotely or on-premises.

    About half your time will be spent in Support Management activities such as proactive account management, spot performance issues, analysis of customer needs and dealing with any technical issues or problems and solving them. You’ll be part of a larger virtual account team and get to work in partnership with them to strengthen targeted customer relationships and work on mobile-first, cloud-first strategies for immediate and long-term service delivery plans.

    You will also be involved in wider Support Execution which means lots of Teamwork to help our customers (and your colleagues) to be more successful. Therefore, we look for people who enjoy collaboration and can spot opportunities in their customers for developing even greater business value and grow those customer/partner relationships effectively. Other interesting areas would be to develop awareness of competition, modifying IP and creating new content.

    We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Customer Success Account Manager to drive program management for strategic customers that have a significant number of key cross-cloud workload engagements running concurrently. As the CSAM you will drive consumption planning & execution, as well as the acceleration of cloud adoption from Pilot/MVP to production for customer cloud engagements. This will be done by providing cross-engagement oversight, resource orchestration, and blocker escalation, all while operating in close collaboration with key account team unit members and business partners who are supporting customer success.

    Responsibilities

    Customer Relationship Management

    • Creates strategic relationships with key customer stakeholders (e.g., Line-of-Business leaders, Information Technology Directors, Chief Technical Office [CTO], Chief Innovation Officer [CIO]), partners, and technical professionals through a team of more junior Customer Success Account Managers (CSAMs) to enable quality solution delivery and health using partnerships with other account team leaders (e.g., Account Executive, Account Technology Strategist). Drives accountability for top-tier customer relationships. Expands and ensures strategic customer and partner relationships beyond the current support contract owners to ensure relationships exist to build the plan with a focus on the leading definition of business outcomes and how to align consumption strategy to customer priorities.

    • Synthesizes and combines various insights from their team and customer industry regarding business and Information Technology objectives for customer organizations using partnership with other account team leaders. Identifies customer needs and is accountable for the creation of shared plans to support outcomes that are specific to the customer and common to the industry. Captures and anticipates new customer needs and outcomes identified during the delivery of support programs, success engagements, and other projects across multiple planning horizons. Provides leadership to the team to execute support and consumption delivery programs. Uses industry trends and program delivery progress to identify priority area to drive customer environmental health outcomes. Ensures the customer is current on technology and ready to move to cloud, enabling cloud adoption and optimizing cloud solutions to manage change and continue to grow in the cloud across all solution areas.

    Account Planning

    • Cultivates the image of Microsoft as a valued business partner by aligning the vision for Microsoft's offerings with customer's overall business and Information Technology objectives, as well as future industry needs, to balance strategic priorities across short-term, mid-term, and long-term objectives. Develops multiple complex programs and identifies executive sponsors for a contract and prioritizes engagements across solution areas to address strategic outcomes and drive customer success, taking into account deep insights about the industry as well as the customer. Challenges the customer and influences them to commit to major change efforts by driving the case for change to drive solution and operational health. Presents the strategic business and technical need for change, as well as insights from competitors. Supports account planning and acts as a change agent for the practice and advocates internally to help customers transform to modern digital approaches.

    • Takes a leadership role in a global team to plan a portfolio of work (e.g., Support programs, implementation projects, success engagements) to drive outcomes aligned with customer's prioritized solutions and workloads globally. Ensures there is a robust consumption plan as part of account plan. Leads development of consumption plan. Leads support contract renewals and transformation, aligns with local growth goals, scopes opportunities, and develops net new customer acquisition strategies or add-on business for some of the most challenging and complex customers (e.g., global, high-revenue generation, complex transformation, strategic accounts) in partnership with Sales and Account teams across solution areas. Manages multiple complex opportunities to support the efficiency targets of their portfolio through the delivery of contracts and customer value, leverages managed intellectual property (MIP), and enhances offerings in alignment with compliance policies.

    Opportunity and Pursuit Management

    • Leads the community or geographic area in recommending innovative opportunities for growth. Captures and communicates and brings forward recommendations from customer insights to lead sellers in identifying and producing cloud consumption and support sales opportunities. Directly enables cloud consumption revenue through consumption planning and participating in consumption opportunity development from envision to commitment.

    Consumption and Delivery Execution

    • Takes ownership for team coordination and leads efforts to connect identified opportunities, questions, and/or issues from the most prominent and/or challenging customer organizations. Leads matrixed internal Microsoft technical/sales teams and partners to address (e.g., involving a large number of teams, multi-technology), using a breadth of technical knowledge and industry experience to identify a broad set of internal teams in highly complex or unique customer situations and ensure progress across solution areas. Anticipates, identifies, and mitigates blockers to customer success goals. Develops widespread initiatives to coach colleagues on common consumption blockers in the industry and implements innovative approaches to address them.

    • Leads and is accountable for the strategic direction of solution deliveries across teams, mentors others, and secures resources to deliver on customer obligations. Accelerates production level consumption through the delivery orchestration by driving solution and operational health for prominent, challenging, and/or complex customer organizations (e.g., global, high-revenue generation, complex transformation, strategic accounts) across the solution and support lifecycle. Is accountable for delivery of support for the resolution of critical escalated issues by partnering with Incident Managers and Support team. Shares updates to the customer and manages their expectations at a leadership level. Analyzes and leverages support-related feedback across multiple practice areas within a country or community and works with the organization to implement long-term solutions that drive continuous process improvement.

    Technical Skilling

    • Leverages deep technical expertise to act as a technology advisor and visionary. Connects business to technology. Operates at the level of an enterprise architect for engagement with the customer. Articulates cross cloud technology, solutions, and services in a compelling way to all audiences. Tailors messaging to specific audiences. Forecasts resource needs and timing to help removes obstacles. Leverage experience as a practitioner of technology across two cloud workloads/areas from design through operations to lead program governance and execution oversight. Leverages experience leading large projects or small programs that include elements of global delivery and/or partners to apply systems thinking and help anticipate changes that could affect key projects.

    Customer Success Strategy

    • Contributes to corporate and Customer Success strategy, organizational direction, and customer initiatives to align managers and individual contributors. Adapts corporate and Customer Success strategies to build alignment with key stakeholders and drive toward achieving portfolio goals.
