    Assistant Director: Patient Affairs 1 Post

    Requirements :

    • Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent. National Diploma/Degree (NQF level 6/7) in Public Management/Administration/Business Administration or any relevant equivalent qualification (NQF level 6/7) with 5 years and more proven experience in supervisory level.
    • 5 years’ experience in a senior position in Hospital Patient Administration environment will be an added advantage. Experience in managing people and projects with the ability to plan strategically.
    • Demonstrate computer literacy in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook), with the ability to compile presentations and draft professional reports.

    Duties :

    • Manage the following areas to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness: Patient Administration, Ward Clerks, Patients Medical Records, Mortuary Services, Porter and Registry Services.
    • Ensure that patient registrations are carried out correctly and accurately. Strategize and implement reforms that will improve patients flow, reduce waiting times and increase efficiency.
    • Implementation of integrated LEAN management philosophy into the hospital’s mandate, guidelines or policies. Ensure efficient and effective booking system throughout the clinical business unit.
    • Continuously provide report related to patient Administration. Develop patient Administration standard operating procedures and ensure that they are implemented effectively. Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and policies. Assist in ensuring that the hospital has appropriate and effective monitoring systems in place to guarantee value for money and high-quality service. Monitor staff appraisal (PMDS). Train, develop and monitor staff to improve service delivery.
    • Co-ordinate the drawing of strategic plans, business plans, and operational plans in patient administration. Ensure that controls are in place to prevent abuse of state properties.
    • Maintain effective and efficient utilization of all allocated resources. Ensure that patients are registered and their files are retrieved timeously and so that they proceed to their clinics.

    • Assist patients who are unable to walk to and from private cars.     • Receive patients from ambulances/vehicles to stretchers or wheelchairs in the presence of a health care professional.     Requirements :

    Requirements :

    • Grade 10-12 or equivalent qualification. A minimum of one year experience as a driver. Candidates must also have a valid C1 driver’s license and a valid Professional Driver Permit.

    Property Caretaker

    Requirements :

    • Remove weeds in flower beds and on pavement. Apply insecticides to weeds. Remove weeds, dry leaves from storm water drains and gutters. Creation of garden landscaping to beautify the environment. Contain and dispose of garden waste (rubble) to area of collection (Pick up bins at Gardening Department) daily.
    • Keep and maintain garden material and equipment. Report on broken garden equipment. Clean garden machines and equipment after use. Spray or dust chemical solutions, powders or gases into rooms, onto clothing, furnishings or wood and over marshlands, ditches, catch-basins at all Wards and departments. Set traps and place poisonous paste or bait in sewers, burrows and ditches.
    • Inspect premises to identify infestation source and extent of damage to property, wall and roof porosity and access to infested locations. Record work activities performed. Clean work site after completion of job by removing dead rodents. Remove all dead pets around the institution. Ensure to follow the fumigation roster. Comply with the rotation roster. Adhere to all legal instructions given to you written or verbally by a senior staff member. Adhere to timelines. Attend meetings and training as approved by the supervisor. Carrying out any lawful and reasonable instruction as instructed by the supervisors.
    • Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Comply with the rotation roster. Be willing to undergo continuous training and development programs.     Requirements :

    • Wear appropriate uniform and protective clothing. Operate and care for equipment's also report broken equipment's and any faulty equipment as well as any observed risks. Rotate to different areas in the food service units and undergo food service work related trainings. Ensure compliance with the Ideal Hospital Framework, Batho Pele principles, and patient rights and Infection Prevention and Control. Contribute to managing complaints and patient safety incidents
