Key Responsibility Areas:

• Manages plans, leads, organises, and controls the divisional functions of Training/planning and logistics.
• Plans and co-ordinates divisional functions, researching appropriate programmes/information and submitting recommendations as it specifically relates to:- Training and development, Logistics function and Specialist functions such as workshop/garage functions, armoury functions.
• Controls the use of all specialist equipment within the command.
• Obtaining estimate/budget inputs from inspectors in charge of the various functional components, measuring such inputs against priorities and targets and submitting final recommendations to the Senior Superintendent with regard to such financial allocations.
• Supervision and control of staff.
• Researching appropriate programmes relating to operational police/law enforcement functions such as, Crime prevention, Road Traffic Control, Council By-Laws and Administrative support.
• Controlling enforcement of the Criminal Procedures Act.
• Liaises with South African Police Service in respect of Transport Department, road traffic procedures.
• Resolves specific problem areas/complaints which cannot be resolved at a lower level of command, including complaints from the public, other departments/ institutions and organisations.
• Compilation and preparation of internal submissions, memorandums, letters to the public, organisations, institutions internal/external departments.

Essential Requirements:

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Policing or related equivalent qualification.
• Registered as a Traffic Officer.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• Firearm Competency.
• 6 years relevant experience of which 3 must be as a Lieutenant Colonel.
• Computer Literacy.
