    Manager: Academic Support - (1702)

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key responsibility areas:

    • Managing and implementing peer centered group and individual academic support programmes;
    • Ensuring alignment of all academic support programmes with the CSSS, SDS and UWC vision and mission;
    • Developing a range of relevant, innovative learning support material to facilitate student success;
    • Undertaking relevant research to stay current and relevant within the student affairs profession and higher education context;
    • Ensuring efficiency in the application of quality assurance systems;
    • Enhancing student engagement activities for academic success;
    • Ability to offer excellence professional development opportunities through annual internships;
    • Ability to manage team roles and dynamics towards alignment of functions and objectives of the department;
    • Compile and submit semester and annual reports on content, process and statistics of the Service;
    • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service offerings;
    • Understanding and skills in psychometric assessments;
    • Manage staff performance in alignment with university policies
    • Conduct benchmarking exercises to stay current and align best practices
    • Provide regular, ongoing progress reports for the Office, as well as produce relevant written operational and evaluation reports
    • Oversee monitoring and evaluation of relevant projects and programmes

    Minimum Requirements:

    • A Master's degree in a relevant field or NQF equivalent
    • A minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience, inclusive of people and project management
    • Relevant experience managing academic/learning programmes
    • Experience working with digital and predictive programmes
    • Experience in design of learning programmes
    • An understanding of relevant theories pertaining to student academic outcomes
    • Experience in coordination and facilitation
    • Competency in research
    • Experience in individual coaching
    • Ability to manage a budget
