Process Automation Specialist at Santam Insurance

What will you do?

The Business Process Optimization team has a new position available for a Process Automation Specialist. This position will be based in Cape Town, Bellville and will report to the Manager: Business Process Optimization. The Business Process Optimization team focuses on enabling business processes through workflow, optimizing processes through applying the Lean Six Sigma methodology and automating business processes through UIPath.

The Process Automation Specialist will take a leading and hands-on role in the design and architecture of Process Automation projects, design of components and libraries as well as taking responsibility for coding standards, code review and source code management. This person will also be involved in all facets of the software development lifecycle of automating processes.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the UIPath Platform and its functionalities.
• Lead the development team in the design of automation processes including the design of common and reusable libraries and components.
• From time to time design, build and test complex automation processes that will interact with multiple third-party applications.
• Establish and maintain coding best practices and standards, execute on code reviews. Ensure that elegant robust code is written.
• Provide guidance in troubleshooting root-cause errors in complex or mission critical processes.
• Liaise with the UIPath representative to stay abreast of latest products, trends and design approaches and frameworks.
• Interaction met world-wide user groups to identify new/future features and the sharing and exploitation of these to benefit our organization.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Engineering, computer science or relevant baccalaureus degree advantageous.
• UIPath certification advantageous
• Thorough understand of robotic process automation is compulsory.
• Deep understanding of software design and architecture, software development lifecycle and source code management is compulsory.
• Good understanding of the use of machine learning, computer vision and OCR as part of automation of processes is advantageous.
• Process centric thinking, quickly grasping business process steps, ownership, dependencies, systems involved and automation risks and challenges.
