Senior Developer – Cape Town at Pro Talent

• Our client in Cape Town, a warehousing, transport and shipping-container logistics provider is looking for a sharp, proactive Senior Associate Developer to join their team.
• The environment includes Microsoft SQL Server, .NET applications, Azure DevOps, mobile platforms, EDI integrations, Nintex Automation (K2), and cloud-native technologies.
• This Senior Associate Developer role is responsible for maintaining business-critical production systems while driving the migration of legacy VB.NET services and IIS-hosted applications to modern C# and .NET 10 solutions.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Lead and contribute to the modernization of legacy VB.NET applications, Windows Services, and IIS-hosted websites into C# and .NET 10 solutions.
• Design, develop, support, and maintain enterprise applications using C#, .NET, SQL Server, ASP.NET, MAUI, and related Microsoft technologies.
• Work extensively with Azure DevOps including Git repositories, branch strategies, pull requests, code reviews, build validations, repository governance, and branch/build policies.
• Create, maintain, and optimize Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Manage and consume Azure Key Vault secrets, certificates, and configuration settings securely across environments.
• Develop integrations using Microsoft Graph APIs and other Microsoft cloud services.
•  Create and maintain Azure DevOps Artifacts feeds and internally hosted NuGet packages for reusable components and shared libraries.
• Implement automation solutions to improve development, deployment, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain unit tests and support automated testing practices to improve software quality and reliability.
• Analyse business requirements and transform them into functional and technical designs.
• Handle change requests, incidents, and bug fixes from the support desk and business stakeholders.
• Debug, troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments.
• Support existing VB.NET, .NET Framework, ASP.NET MVC, Xamarin, MAUI, and SQL Server based solutions.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical mentoring within the development team.
• Support EDI integrations, reporting solutions, workflows, and operational systems critical to the business.

Qualifications & Experience

• 7+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Strong experience with C#, .NET (Framework, .NET Core, and modern .NET versions including migration to .NET 10 readiness).
• Experience migrating legacy applications from VB.NET to modern C# architectures.
• Advanced SQL Server skills including stored procedures, functions, views, indexing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, root-cause analysis, and production support skills.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
