    Company Secretary - East London

    Minimum requirements:

    • Law Degree (NQF 7) or equivalent
    • Registration with a relevant and recognised professional body
    • Registration as a Chartered Secretary will be an added advantage
    • Admission as an Advocate/Attorney will be an added advantage

    Minimum Experience:

    • 5 years’ experience as a Company Secretary

    Key Outputs:

    • Reporting to the Chief Executive, the appointee will:
    • Lead the effective and efficient provision of Board and governance support services to the Board and Board Committees
    • Ensure that minutes of all Shareholders, Board meetings and meeting of any Board committees are correctly and accurately recorded.
    • Plan and design the Board and its committee meetings agenda and prepare meetings packs in consultation with the CE and Chair of the Board.
    • Administer Board and Board Committees Secretariat functions.
    • Provide advice and guidance to the Board on ethics, good governance, and legislative matters such as PFMA, Companies Act, King IV Report Constitutional and administrative issues.
    • Ensure that the Board Charter and the terms of reference or any charter of the Board Committees are timeously reviewed and kept up to date.
    • Provide an update on legislative and corporate governance developments to the Board.
    • Advise and lead MANCO and Board on implementation of corrective actions / interventions to achieve full compliance upon completed gap analysis.
    • Undertake research on future developments in the legislative and governance standards environment and appraise MANCO and Board on the adjustments required to maintain compliance.
    • Advise on the governance and legal impacts of resolutions discussed and/or taken atMANCO and Board sessions.
    • Serve as legal advisor to Amatola Water Board.
    • Render legal advisory services to ensure that the Board aligns its policies, procedures,planning initiatives and activities within the relevant legal requirements.
    • Conduct research and compile legal opinions and/or advice as and when required.
    • Review progress of outstanding litigation and liaise with and manage external lawyers.
    • Manage the performance of the Company Secretary Office
    • Contribute substantively to AW strategic, integrated development and performance planningand reporting processes.
    • Manage staff performance, learning and development activities within the Office.
    • Formulate, manage, and control all related annual operating and CAPEX budgets
    • Compile annual budgets for the unit and monitor utilization against baseline
    • Carry out reasonable and lawful instructions as given by the Chief Executive Officer and/or Board Chairperson and Board Sub-Committee Chairpersons within the ambit of the position

    Other Requirements:

    Project Manager Level 2 - East London

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • BSc / B Tech Civil Engineering /Quantity Survey (NQF 7)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Project Management Qualification

    Professional Registration:

    Minimum Experience:

    Key Outputs:

    • Reporting to the Senior Manager Special Programmes, the employee will:

    • Initiate and Manage Feasibility studies to ensure high accuracy and transparency during the adjudication of the results

    • Manage consultant activity
    • Prepare regular progress reports for the CEO and Department of Water and Sanitation
    • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) to ensure that Amatola Water’s projects adhere to the regulations of the relevant Acts
    • Identify projects and actions, which may damage the environment
    • Know and understand the National Environmental Management Act
    • Confirm that projects conform to the environmental legislation
    • Management to ensure that resources are used according to maximum potential

    Labour Relations Officer - East London

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Labour Relations, Industrial Psychology, Human Resources or equivalent

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Learning & Development Officer - Nahoon Dam

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management (Training and Development) or equivalent related field

    Minimum Experience:

    • 5 years’ post qualification experience in training and development
    • Extensive knowledge of the relevant skills development legislation (WSP/ATR/BBBEE etc)
