    Purpose Statement

    Analytics Engineer II

    About the role: 

    • We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our Payments Data team. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and analytics, enabling high-quality, reliable data solutions that support electronic payments across retail and business banking. 
    • Although newly titled, this role builds on the foundation of the previous Product Data Engineer function, with an increased focus on seniority, ownership, and technical depth. The successful candidate will work within a small, collaborative team responsible for managing and optimising payments data across EFT, DebiCheck, immediate payments, PayShap, and international payments. 
    • You will partner closely with analysts, data warehouse specialists, and broader payments and card data teams, contributing to scalable data models and robust data pipelines in a cloud-based environment.

    Purpose Statement

    Analyst: Strategic Projects and Business Optimisation CA(SA)

    Purpose Statement

    • To contribute towards the enhancement of business and strategic capability through: 
    • Participating in the interpretation of business strategy and support the design and development of innovative solutions supporting strategy implementation
    • To analyse areas of business efficiency and design and implement solutions to achieve business excellence
    • To support the identification and maintenance of strategic partnership opportunities with external organisations (through research and analysis) that will enhance Capitec’ business offering 
    • To support the division/department and Executives with strategic focus, work delivery and problem-solving

    Qualifications (Minimum)

    • Honours Degree in Commerce or Business Management

    Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

    • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)

    Knowledge
    Minimum:

    • Understanding of Financial Services products and services
    • Commercial business knowledge 
    • ‘Start up’ type techniques and processes 
    • Applying innovative and creative concepts into a practical commercial environment
    • Business research techniques and models
    • Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook capabilities
    • Data and analytics

    Ideal:

    • In-depth industry knowledge, specifically in relation to developments (banking of the future, as well as opportunities directly or indirectly related to banking)
    • Knowledge of advanced financial modelling skills and methods
