The senior tax specialist role is an important one within Africa Zone Tax and will report to the Zone Tax Director.
Key outputs and responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Zone Tax Director, to deliver on zone tax KPI’s and transformational projects.

The key purpose of this role is to manage and control Silo activities, to Perform barley intake, effect malt loading, conduct barley and malt quality at source analysis, and manage the operation of the Pellet plant facility.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Ensure that barley samples are taken timeously;
- Ensure that barley trucks are only offloaded after with an “Authorization to Offload” slip has been issued by the laboratory and that unlike barleys are not mixed;
- Authorization to Offload” slips are collected timeously from the laboratory and that intake proceeds at >90 t/Hr continuously, no underweight trucks are offloaded;
- Pre-use checklist on shunting unit are used on shift;
- any deviations, if any, are reported to the artisan;
- Ensure diesel usage is recorded by updating graph (fuel efficiency graph);
- Ensure all safety and operating instructions are adhered to;
- Ensure movements of Contractor vehicles in the loading and off loading bay area are effected safely; and
- Rail trucks are correctly placed and safely moved on site.
- Ensure that trucks are suitable for malt loading are clean, properly sealed and signed off on Malt Analysis Dispatch Sheet in order to prevent loss of malt during transportation;
- trucks are accurately weighed;
- correct tonnage is loaded into all malt trucks (Rail=36 t & Road=34 t);
- all rail trucks are cleaned and sealed before leaving loading area; and
- no spillages occur on top of malt trucks.
- the correct truck number, depot, destination, product classification, first and second weights are captured for barley and malt trucks;
- information relating to the above is correctly printed onto weighbridge tickets;
- barley / malt data is correctly entered into Silo Reference Book;
