    Unit Manager (Cellar) - Wadeville

    About the job

    We require the service of a Unit Manager at our Wadeville Production Plant, The Unit manager will provide management and leadership support in relation to performance monitoring, overtime allocation, working patterns and IR related matters in their unit. The incumbent is required to have good technical understanding of manufacturing. This person will report to the Cellar Manager.

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    • Management of the relevant Cellar division and accompanying personnel.
    • Manage production plan and production processes.
    • Manage and control annual unit budgets.
    • See to annual maintenance plan of all equipment within department.
    • Management of all quality systems ISO 9001/2000 and FSSC 22000.
    • Attendance of all external and internal product nosing.
    • Ability to liaise with all cellar managers and logistics within the Distell group to ensure timely production of all products.
    • Liaising with buying departments to ensure the correct product ingredients and lead times is adhered to.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of annual departmental business plans and assist in site’s business plan.
    • To establish a positive and disciplined environment with the workers and manage all HR issues within department.
    • To effectively manage performance and drive E2 practices.
    • See to skills development within department.
    • Actively participate in daily and weekly management meetings.
    • Innovation and business improvements in support of operational and segment goals.
    • Monitors operational efficiencies, recommends, and implements corrective action to improve operational efficiencies.
    • Identifies causes and costs of waste, contamination and inefficiencies and take appropriate action to reduce these amounts.
    • Identify, prioritise and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques that eliminate recurrence.
    • Ensure that quality is embedded within the factory's administrative processes and personnel management.
    • Safety – Implement recommendations from HSE. Ensures responsible management of HSE using the HSE Teams as Subject Matter Experts.
    • Utilise appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products and equipment to ensure a safe working environment for the whole team

    The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

    • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical) or relevant qualification.
    • 3 – 5 years’ experience within a similar role - production experience in spirits environment is advantageous.
    • Proven leadership capabilities with a strong technical aptitude.
    • Proven computer literacy in SAP & MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
    • The successful candidate must be innovative and drive best practices.
    • Must be able to work under pressure and see to queries associated with cellar department.

    Temp Management Accountant - Wadeville

    Applications are invited for the above mentioned temp position based at Wadeville. This successful person will report to the Regional Financial Manager.

    Purpose Statement Of The Position

    • To assist and support management in the process of continuous improvement by constant evaluation of the business to identify possible shortcomings or opportunities that may arise in terms of operational efficiency and risk.

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    • Ensure a cost effective and efficient financial support platform to provide a value adding financial function
    • Responsible for the operational cost management of the site
    • Render effective and efficient operational cost control at the site
    • Circulate guidelines on the preparation of budget and forecasts to the Cost Centre Owners
    • Build effective relationships with external and internal stakeholders
    • Support and assist managers in compiling OPEX and capital budgets / forecasts
    • Co-ordinate processing of budget / forecasts and effective financial control for year end
    • Management reporting of OPEX and Liquor and material variance explanations
    • Report on the status of the capital budget and manage and co-ordinate asset register
    • Assist and guide cost centre managers with financial information, proper variance declarations and the interpretation of expenses
    • Highlight areas of concern in OPEX or variances and recommend corrective action where possible
    • Ensure site complies with ICC(Internal controls), self-assessments, stock takes and internal audit programs
    • Ensure that the volume budget and forecasts are compiled in accordance with actual trends and future developments, circulated to DC & TX managers
    • Evaluate validity and accuracy of detail budget working papers
    • Ensure that the volume for budgets and forecasts are compiled in accordance with actual trends and future developments, circulated to DC & TX managers.
    • Analyse previous months / year expenses to ensure the completeness of budgets
    • Prepare the various KPI analyses and evaluate trends
    • Prepare regional budget for presentation to HO
    • Adjust budget after HO presentation if required
    • Perform internal audits in the region as per annual audit plan
    • Prepare audit report on irregularities, weaknesses and risks
    • Co-ordinate and evaluate monthly Internal Control Checklists
    • Ensure proper control exists with regards to ISO compliance
    • Assist external and internal auditors during audits
    • Ensure capital request forms are completed accurately
    • Ensure that all motivations & tenders given are appropriate and accurate
    • Ensure that requests are approved timeously by Regional management and sent to HO for final approval
    • If request has been approved inform applicant and track progress thereof
    • Ensure that all regional assets are maintained on SAP’s asset register and accounted for
    • Identify training and development plans
    • Perform projects as per: Regional business plan, Management request
    • Manage adhoc commercial requests
    • Perform financial analysis and generate insights which support business decision making
    • Perform the stand in function of the Northern District Management Account to manage the business requirements
    • Perform the stand in function for the Regional FM when required

    The successful candidate must have the following experience & qualification:

    • BCom Accounting Degree
    • CIMA/Postgraduate qualification will be highly advantageous
    • Minimum 2 - 3 years relevant business experience
    • Previous experience in Finance within the FMCG industry would be prefer
    • Advanced MS Office skills
    • Sound knowledge of SAP, Qlikview and Qliksense
    • Communication skills that include excellent negotiation skills, ability to network and excellent Presentation skills
    • High energy levels and a self-starter
    • Good analytical skills and ability to interpret and present financial and statistical data
    • Strong decision making and problem solving ability

    Temp Handyman - Gqeberha

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    • The stripping, assembling and repair of parts or components.
    • Starting, stopping and operating air compressors.
    • Lubrication of machines and equipment.

    • Relevant working experience in lubrication is essential, preferably in a production environment
    • Basic administrative abilities in order to complete relevant forms.
    • Working knowledge of safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
    • Ability to cope with the inherent physical demands of the position
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure;
