    RMB Credit Analyst - Johannesburg

    Purpose: 

    • This role provides an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in a key growth area within a leading investment bank and to be involved with deals at the forefront of corporate action both locally and in broader Africa in both the listed and unlisted space. The primary purpose of the role is to work alongside deal teams and provide quantitative and qualitative risk assessments of both corporate and family office clients.

    Responsibilities:

    Unpack and critically think about the risk of new and existing debt and equity deals for clients across a broad range of geographies and industries, which includes:

    • Engaging with the client,
    • Interrogating a client’s business model and identifying risks, 
    • Assessing financial data put forward by the client, 
    • Building a financial model to forecast performance or assessing a model put forward by the client or the client’s advisors for accuracy and appropriateness, 
    • Working alongside the deal to structure a deal in line with the risk philosophy of the bank,
    • Assessing and managing overall limits for a client in line with the bank’s risk framework
    • Putting forward a deal for recommendation after objectively assessing all the facts. 

    Prepare and present the risk to risk executives in a committee sitting which involves:

    • Taking ownership of the application which requires strong report writing skills,
    • Managing the timelines of a deal in line with the agreed-upon submission deadline, and
    • Presenting a deal at committee and working together with the deal team to take questions and answers which require strong verbal skills, the ability to debate and manage differing views and ultimately influence and negotiate a good outcome for both the client and the bank. 

    Stakeholder and relationship management, which includes: 

    • Building and maintaining professional working relationships with all stakeholders, which includes working alongside experienced business and risk executives and acting as a bridge,
    • Adaptation of communication styles to meet the needs of different audiences, and
    • Conflict management.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Ideally CA (SA) or CFA with relevant credit analyst experience within Investment Banking, although a newly qualified CA (SA) or a graduate whose degree has a strong quantitative focus will be considered, provided that the graduate has had exposure to finance and/or accounting.

    Financial Reporting Accountant - JHB

    Job Description

    To maintain and update Group technical accounting frameworks, standards, policies, processes and procedures using current industry standards and regulations

    • Identify potential financial and reputational risks that may impact the business and put action plans in place to mitigate these risks. Address risks identified by the team to ensure effective mitigation.
    • Ability to communicate financial information to a non-technical audience.
    • Financial Data Entry involving the capture of entries to the General Ledger and customer accounts.
    • This includes passing correcting entries to bring unreconciled suspense accounts into balance.
    • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
    • Provide specialist advice and support to stakeholders.
    • Track and manage correspondence and queries received from the SA Reserve Bank. Ensure deadlines set by the SARB are met with quantifiable responses.
    • Plans, manages and coordinates projects on an ad-hoc basis.
    • Half and full year consolidations are completed accurately and on time. Annually assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and identification of significant issues as well as the segment report. Perform the timely aggregation and consolidation of period end financial information through.
    • Preparation activities for consolidation.
    • Review, reconciliation, quality control checks and validation of information and commentary.
    • Querying of movements with franchises.
    • Passing of relevant journal entries (including audit trail).
    • Currency and share capital conversions o Matching and eliminations (transactions and balances).
    • Assist in portfolio risk monitoring, foot printing, and general reporting. 
    • Ensure compliance with the Legal & Compliance Risk Management Framework.
    • Ensure that the governance structures are adhered to within the Group for minimisation of risk.
    • Ensure that risk and compliance targets are achieved enabling risk minimisation and/or loss prevention. Ensure that regulatory requirements are incorporated into operational management systems.
    • Analysing and preparing commentary on the financial result of FTP for Group Treasury and Business units (margin).
    • Preparing net interest margin analytics for the Group.
    • Collate, prepare and distribute reports, documents and presentations as per the needs of the manager.
    • Identify and escalate financial risks through analysis of financial reports and statements.
    • Critically review the Group budgets to identity weak areas and financial risks.
    • Accurate/ relevant/ correct information to be provided for financial reports and financial statements.
    • Critically review and production of monthly management accounts.
    • Critically review budgets from Segments and update and prepare exco / board presentations annually. Financial risks for the Group and its entities are mitigated.
    • Attend meetings on behalf of the area/function.
    • Liaise with CFO's and internal/external auditors when required.

    Sales Manager Broader Africa - Johannesburg

    Job Description

    Grow Treasury and Trade (TTS) wallet share for RMB, across Broader Africa corporate transactional banking countries of presence, by sourcing new business, retaining and cross-sell opportunities to achieve transactional banking revenue goals.

    Job Description

    To initiate and lead deal origination and structuring, implementation, and client engagement in the real estate sector to enable improved profitability, market share and competitive positioning.

    To articulate and set the desired products, services, client plan and specific client strategy to retain key real estate sector clients, grow their revenue, and enhance client experience.

    • Develop an intimate understanding of the real estate sector and client’s businesses

    Qualifications

    • Honours or Post Graduate degree in the relevant discipline
    • 5 to 8 years’ experience in a similar environment, of which 2 - 3 years ideally at specialist level
