    Job Description

    • To independently conduct Cold Chain Services according to standard protocols as prescribed through PPECB’s legislative mandate. 
    • Inspection of all cold chain equipment applicable to the region.
    • Monitor temperatures and supervise container loading at various loading points.
    • Ensure the correct application of quality management systems, procedures, and work instructions.
    • Perform administrative tasks.
    • Supervision of juniors and temporary personnel.
    • Provide technical support to subordinates.
    • Assist with training of subordinates.
    • Assist management to manage cost drivers
    • Identify and limit risks in all business processes
    • Build and maintain good relations with PPECB clients.
    • Communicate with various clients on own specific task and outcome of decisions
    • Participate in the relief duty roster
    • Accept the responsibility of continuous self-improvement in their area of responsibility according to the PPECB performance framework

    Job Requirements 

    • A Grade 12 certificate or relevant qualification with a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience as a competent Cold Chain Assessor. (verification of assessment required on two main products)
    • Thorough understanding and theoretical knowledge of the processes involved in all cold chain activities.
    • Knowledge and experience of all cold chain services relevant to the specific geographical area. 
    • Proven competence and experience on container loading, container inspection, temperature monitoring, cold store inspections, calibrations and cold treatment. 
    • Competence in Terminal Monitoring desk, CTI/Precool desk & En-route management will be advantageous.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • The ability to work independently.
    • Good overall soft skills - proven completion of Supervisory course
    • Proven track record of taking ownership enabled by responsible and accountable behaviour.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • A valid code 08 driver’s license and own reliable vehicle

    The Quality Controller will be responsible for the following:

    Qualification required:

    • Minimum 3 Year Post School Qualification in Office Admin/business administration

    Experience required:

    • Basic knowledge of and experience on MS Office – Outlook, Word and Excel

    Key responsibilities:

    Technical processes –implementation

    • Sample registration using LIMS.
    • Data collection for reports.
    • Creating Service Requests.
    • Creating Certificate of Analyses.
    • Participate in laboratory staff management review meetings.
    • Implement standard QMS protocols.
    • Compliance to statutory requirements.
    • Records all non-conformances observed for further investigation.
