    Deputy Head REF NO: 61000010

    Job Purpose:

    •  Responsible for the provision of a Corporate Human Capital service for the eThekwini Municipality in respect of Employee Wellness, Organisational Diagnostics, Employment Equity, Talent and Performance Management. 

    Essential Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Human Resources Management or any other related and equivalent qualification. Valid motor vehicle driving license.
    • 8 years relevant experience in Human Resources Management of which at least 3 years must be at a senior management level in respect of any of the following fields: Human Capital Administration, Organisational Diagnostics, Employment Equity, Talent and Performance Management, Staff Provisioning, and Employee Wellness.     Urban Designer/ Professional Urban Designer

    Job Purpose: 

    • Co-ordinates precinct/site scale urban design projects through the provision of professional guidance and support, conducting investigative studies, developing proposals inclusive of programmes and financial measures for approvals and monitoring and reporting on the implementation and outcome phases against original design intentions of Urban Design works. 

    Essential Requirements:

    • Masters (NQF Level 9) in Urban Design or Architecture or Landscape Architecture.  
    • Registered as a Professional Landscape Architect with the South African Council for the Landscape Architectural Profession (SACLAP) or Registered as a Professional Architect with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP).
    • Registered as a Candidate Urban Designer with the Urban Design Institute of South Africa (UDISA) within 6 months of employment.  Valid motor vehicle drivers license. 2 years relevant experience in Urban Design.  Computer Literacy.

    Safety Officer

    Job Purpose: 

    • To co-ordinate the implementation, maintenance and monitoring of safety, health and environmental system, policies, procedures, standards and safe working practices throughout eThekwini Electricity. 

    Essential Requirements:

    • Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Safety Management. Registered as Graduate Member with one of the recognised Health and Safety Professional bodies such as South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (SAIOSH) or South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) within 6 months of date of appointment.
    • Certified as a Specifically Trained Person by the Energy Management Directorate to enter electricity substations within 6 months from date of appointment. Valid motor vehicle driving license.
    • 2 Years relevant experience. Computer Literacy.  

    Special Conditions:

    • Hours of Work: 40 hours, 5 days a week. 
    • Shift Work as and when required and as per employment contract. 
    • Sustenance Allowance where applicable. 
    • Be prepared to work overtime to meet the exigencies of the service.
    • Subject to transfer to any of the Directorate’s depots/divisions as required. 
    • Protective Clothing as per the PPE Schedule.
