    Artisan Fitter

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is searching for an Artisan Fitter to join our sugar team based at our Malelane Mill, Mpumalanga. The primary objective of this position is to provide mechanical maintenance of the plant. The successful incumbent will report to the Refinery Services Engineer.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric with Maths & Science
    • N2 Trade theory plus Trade test certificate in Mechanical Fitting.
    • Proof of the successful completion of a formal Institutionalised Training Programme is essential
    • Minimum of three years working experience as a trade tested Artisan: Fitter.
    • Must be able to perform RCA and fault finding
    • Working knowledge of planned maintenance systems.
    • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Be prepared to work planned and unplanned overtime.
    • To be considered for appointment, the candidate must be a South African citizen

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Maintenance and inspection as per job card.
    • Attending to breakdowns.
    • Work with overhead crane, including the rigging of heavy equipment
    • Performing standby duties.
    • Safety work and inspections as per job card (housekeeping).
    • New projects and installations.
    • Maintenance of valves, pumps, gearboxes and conveying systems, centrifugal, fans, and general mechanical plant.
    • Inspection and maintenance of pressure vessels.
    • Carry out detailed daily inspections on mechanical equipment.
    • Carry out scheduled and preventative maintenance.
    • Assist with off-crop planning and execute off-crop maintenance responsibilities.

    MRP Planner – Packaging

    Job Description    

    • RCL Foods is seeking a MRP (Material Requirements Planning) Planner for Packaging to join our Grocery Division. The role will be based in Randfontein and report to the Commodity Procurement Manager. RCL Foods is looking for a relationship building, analytical thinking problem solver.
    • The individual will be required to develop and manage the MRP plan for packaging materials required to meet the forward production plan & sales forecast.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric.
    • Preferably degree and/or a diploma in Procurement and/or Supply Chain or equivalent (or ideally studying towards).
    • 3 - 5 years FMCG experience.
    • Advanced computer skills such as MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
    • A sound knowledge of ERP systems such as Syspro, SAP, Barnton etc.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Key Responsibilities:

    • To plan and create orders for packaging materials required to ensure adequate stockholding to meet the production plan & sales forecast.
    • Ensure that call offs are done on time in accordance to supplier lead times.
    • Maintaining stock levels considering storage space, MOQ's, forecast and planned volumes.
    • Involved in packaging projects related to new product launches and/or existing packaging material changes.
    • Updating of packaging prices on a monthly basis and communicate to all relevant stakeholders.
    • Communicate rejected packaging to relevant suppliers as and when NCR’s gets raised.
    • The management of slow moving stock and write offs as and when occurs.
    • Manage service levels with suppliers.
    • Engage with Group Sourcing & Marketing to assist with new projects and price negotiations.
    • Communicate forecasts to suppliers on a monthly basis.
    • Assist plants with GRN queries and finance with payment queries.
    • Attend supplier, production planning & NPD meetings as and when occurs.
    • Do system maintenance on a monthly basis e.g. closing of old purchase orders.

    Maintenance Artisan

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is seeking a Maintenance Artisan to join our Vector Division. The role will be based in Linbro Park and report to the Warehousing Manager. RCL FOODS is looking for an incumbent to perform skilled maintenance, repairs of relevant equipment, including refrigeration equipment, and the inspection of work done across the site and also leading a team of handymen.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Electrical Trade Test or a Qualified Millwright
    • Wireman’s Licence (Optional)
    • Valid Driver’s Licence
    • 3 Years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of industrial refrigeration equipment.
    • Electrical experience is essential.
    • Mechanical experience.
    • Plumbing experience

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Maintenance and Repairs

    • Planning of work according to the maintenance plan and schedule and per breakdown.
    • Maintenance and repair of all site-related equipment in accordance with the maintenance plan and schedule.
    • Render assistance to handyman on faults that cannot be solved on their level of required competence.
    • Daily inspection of all work completed on-site including residential buildings.
    • Repair site-related machinery and equipment per breakdown.
    • Inspect systems and their components to ensure safety and identify necessary repairs.
    • Perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance as needed.
    • Diagnose problems and /or failures in refrigeration systems to identify equipment and/or systems repair and replacement needs.
    • Repair various items, systems and/or components to ensure that equipment is available and in safe working condition.
    • Inform the Warehouse Manager regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action, and/or complying with health and safety regulations.
    • Maintain tools and/or equipment to ensure the availability of equipment in safe operating conditions.
    • Respond to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns.

    • Ensure that documentation required within the Total Integrated Management System (TIMS) is applied consistently within the scope of function.

    Packing QC Technician (Intern)

    Job Description    
    The successful incumbent will be responsible for :

    • Supporting the Milling packing production team with day to day on-site packaging analysis
    • Solving simple operational problems related to packaging
    • Identifying any opportunities that will improve processes/system efficiencies and propose a plan to implement.
    • Working alongside line staff and communicate through the Line manager observations and opportunities for improvement/correction where appropriate.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Packaging Diploma (IPSA)
    • Food Technology/Biotechnology Diploma/Bachelor’s degree (or studying towards degree)

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Packaging on-site brilliant basics:

    • Assist with Packaging Specifications, barcode verification reports and colour standards from suppliers to sites and capturing on the system for easy access and use in audits.
    • Packaging analysis on required dimensional / functional testing to ensure conformance to specs and quality expectations of packed product.
    • Line efficiencies in terms of: Standard operating procedures for start-up and during production, throughputs, efficiencies and wastages.
    • Assist with data collection to validate packaging & packing compliance.
    • Support with online trials with new suppliers and or alternate materials to match or improve on current packaging materials.

    Cost Accountant - FTC

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is seeking a Cost Accountant to join our Vector Logistics Division. The role will be based in Head Office and report to the Commercial Manager. RCL FOODS is looking for an experienced person who is brilliant at the basics and is able to lead with integrity and respect in order to provide management accounting support and insight for the relevant customer / principal / depot.
    • RCL FOODS entrusts the incumbent to manage and control the capital and operating costs and all immoveable and moveable assets within the scope of responsibility.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Minimum 2 years management accounting experience, including commercial reporting and costing
    • Minimum qualification is a BTech in Management accounting.
    • Preferably a B.Com or equivalent and studying towards CIMA/CA.
    • Sound financial and numerical acumen with commercial accounting experience.
    • Advanced MS Excel and working experience on SAP.
    • Experience using Power BI will be an advantage
    • Cost accounting principles and practices.
    • TM1 utilization.
    • Costing principles, practices and performance indicators.
    • Business strategies, targets, processes and economics.
    • Ability to multi-task with good time management skills.

    • Budgeting and Forecasting
    • Prepare budgets and forecasting timetables.
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecast pack for presentation to Management Accountant.

    Reporting

    • Collate information for timeous and accurate reporting
    • Streamlining existing processes and paper trails to reduce the risk of human error and improve speed of information delivery.
    • Ensure all reports balance and documented investigation of variances.
    • Developing a broad knowledge base of the organisational processes and policies.
    • Staying fully informed of operational objectives, performance and critical trends.
    • Engaging with Management Accountant through presentation of the monthly commercial report and follow-up sessions where appropriate in order to provide the business with the tools to make informed strategic decisions, implement change and maximise profitability.
    • Analyse and explain KPI fluctuations and variances.
    • Provide monthly commentary for submission to the Commercial Manager.

    ABC Model

    • Understand the ABC Model and cost drivers.
    • Understand the SAP cost centres and the upload into TM1 to assist in variance explanations.
    • Assist with annual escalations, efficiency measures and contracts

    Variance Analysis

    • Perform revenue recons to assist in investigations and audits to support accuracy & completeness of revenue
    • Provide commentary on the monthly reporting packs and variance analysis.

    Financial Management

    • Analyse costs against budgets and forecasts.
    • Provide input driving optimisation of efficiencies in the depot environment.
    • Analyse actual KPI’s versus budget and work with the teams to address areas of non-conformance or concern proactively and timeously.
