    Doorman

    Description
    Often the first hello and the last farewell, our Front Office and Guest Services teams are the gatekeepers of the Belmond experience. Their commitment to going above-and-beyond ensures a stay that is incomparable. If you are a service-orientated, guest-focused hospitality professional, then we would love to hear from you. We are looking for a Doorman to join our team.

    • Create a welcoming environment for Hotel guests and facilitate their arrival and departure.
    • Assist guests out of their vehicles as they enter the port cochere.
    • Assist guests as they come in and out of the hotel entrance.
    • work closely with the Concierge and Front Desk to ensure the smooth handling of guest luggage.
    • Conduct all duties in accordance with departmental, Leading Quality Assurance and hotel standards.
    • Maintain all Front of House areas in an orderly manner – general upkeep of the area, which includes the entrance, sidewalk, back of house store room, the port cochere and surrounding area to entrance (benches, trash cans and pot plants etc.).
    • Monitor the workflow and activity of the porters.
    • Maintain and upkeep all departmental equipment, which includes polishing of the trolleys, umbrellas etc.
    • Assist with Porter duties as and when required.
    • Be well versed in all hotel services, hours of operation, key personnel, hotel policies, etc. in order to assist guests with queries.
    • Assist with other departmental and hotel duties as assigned by management occasionally or on a daily basis.
    • Ensure the free flow of movement in and out of the building and, if need be, help in the carrying of luggage and receiving packages delivered.

    Requirements

    • Previous Hospitality background advantageous.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Excellent listening skills with the ability to transmit information accurately.
    • Excellent customer service skills and a high level of attention to detail.
    • A decent degree of physical strength is required in order to carry luggage, as is an interest in helping people and providing excellent service at all times.
    • Should be genuinely personable and cordial.

    Front Office Shift Leader

    We are looking for a Front Office Shift Leader to join our team.

    • Primarily supervises the Front Office team members to ensure efficient and smooth operations for producing excellent guest satisfaction.
    • Responds in a professional and courteous manner to guests by providing accurate and timely information and services.
    • Attend daily briefings & follow up on any pending items.
    • Plan operations and allocate duties for the shift.
    • Assist with on-the-job training of all Front Office team members.
    • Perform all check-ins and check outs of hotel guests as per the standard policy and procedure of the hotel.
    • Ensure that all department & guest reports, dockets and correspondence are completed accurately and punctually.
    • Ensure all takings for the day is correct, balanced and banked according to hotel policy and procedure.
    • Maintain excellent relationships and professionalism among all associates.
    • Develop systems and procedures that achieve higher cost efficiency and guest satisfaction
    • Provide support and coverage to all areas of the Front of House division as required.
    • Assist with recommending activities and restaurants to guests when the Concierge team are unavailable.
    • Check the daily arrival list to have detailed information regarding arrivals and room requirements.
    • Be aware of all VIP’s – both in house and arrivals.
    • Stay up-to date about room rates, current promotions, offers and packages.
    • Ensure that long stay and regular guests are acknowledged and their preferences are actioned and retained for future stays.
    • Liaise with Housekeeping to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully-furnished to accommodate guests’ needs.

    Requirements

    • Hospitality management diploma or similar relevant qualification -preferred.
    • Must have 2-3 years’ experience in same or similar role within a luxury hotel environment.
    • Guest focused.
    • Team orientation.
    • A motivated individual with good communication and interpersonal skills.

    Night Auditor

    Description
    Often the first hello and the last farewell, our Front Office and Guest Services teams are the gatekeepers of the Belmond experience. Their commitment to going above-and-beyond ensures a stay that is incomparable. If you are a service-orientated, guest-focused hospitality professional, then we would love to hear from you. We are looking for a Night Auditor to join our Front Office team.

    Main duties include but are not limited to:

    • Audit all daily revenue reports to ensure all income pertaining to each unit has been accounted for correctly and in accordance with company guidelines.
    • Ensures verification of actual departure report and scrutiny of guest checkout folios to eradicate all discrepancies.
    • Scrutinises front office allowances, rebates, discounts, paid outs and room transfers to ensure that they are correctly passed and authorised.
    • Reconciles the credit card transactions processed through electronic data capture and is responsible for its batch closing.
    • Monitors correct documentation of all transactions by Front Office staff.
    • Responsible for preparation and processing of all reports generated e.g., Daily Handover and Financial Reports.
    • Responsible of the balancing of all Food and Beverage pre-lists and report any discrepancies to the Front Office and Finance Manager.
    • Keep the Front Office Manager informed on all major operational matters.
    • Relieve the Night Manager in his / her absence.
    • Ensure all other outlets are performing during the night e.g. Housekeeping, In Room Dining, Stewarding and Security.
    • Check in guests arriving at night, handle guest requests and take reservations.
    • Respond properly in the hotel emergency and safety situations.
    • Provide accurate information to guests in a courteous manner, fill all reasonable guests request and requirements and anticipates guests needs.
    • Take messages for in-house or arriving guests in accordance with procedures.
    • Handle incoming and outgoing mail packages and faxes.

    Requirements

    • Hospitality management diploma or similar relevant qualification.
    • Proven experience as a Night Auditor or in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
    • Experience with hotel reservations software – advantageous.
    • Experience with accounting procedures and administrative tasks essential.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage staff & self.
    • To be well versed with Front of House & Financial procedures.
    • Excellent computer skills.
    • Good understanding of data entry, accounting, word processing, invoicing and billing procedures.
    • Self-motivated, proactive work ethic.
