    Process Technologist - Speciality Centurion

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Diploma in Food Technology or Degree in Food Science or a Btech in Food Technology
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a research and development or innovation function

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Product Development and Testing
    • Interpret the project brief to determine the plant-based technical development activities required.
    • Design the plant development programme to achieve the agreed milestones.
    • Identify and determine the best technical approach by consulting widely with both internal and external partners.
    • Confirm the feasibility of selected technology (including safety, stability, patents, processing etc).
    • Ensure raw materials, pre-mixes, in-process material, packaging material and finished goods needed for new products are in place for the work to be carried out.
    • In conjunction with the Plant management, coordinate and run volume plant trials (for new products, processes and formulation changes) and write up the trial reports.
    • Send samples to the laboratory for shelf life – micros testing.
    • Ensure that new products are properly developed and tested in the laboratory and in factory and production trials.
    • Responsibility for new product development and trialing within the designated processing plant Geographic responsibility

    • Management and control of capital and operating costs and all immoveable and moveable assets within the scope of responsibility
    • Prepare kitchen samples and courier the samples for taste sessions.
    • Compile the dHACCP studies with the regional team.
    • Compile the product and process specifications
    • Compile and update specifications for raw material, semi-processed material, packaging material and finished products and load them onto the PPO for approval.
    • Compile the product and packaging manuals.
    • Maintain and update the BOMS.
    • Meet plant expectations on training and understanding the product and process details thereby facilitating the plants’ ability to make products to meet the design requirements.
    • Work closely with quality and processing teams to ensure that the efficiency and quality norms are met on existing and new products.
    • Follow up new launched product for at least six months after the launch and set the standards for new and modified products.
    • Collect, develop and refine product attributes and requirements with input from relevant stakeholders (e.g. customer/consumers, internal experts, executives, etc.).

    Technical Expertise

    • Research/drive improvement initiatives in the plant.
    • Provide expertise in plant meetings and recommend solutions based on insights and findings.

    Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Compliance

    • Ensure all legislative standards are achieved during the NPD process and timeous action is taken where required to ensure that there are no areas of non-compliance.
    • Ensure that documentation required within the Total Quality Management System, is maintained and applied consistently.

    Team Coordination

    • Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning, prioritising and self- development.
    • Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.
    • Inform relevant parties in the event of tasks or deadlines not met, the potential risks thereof and provide appropriate resolution.

    Category Assistant

    Purpose

    RCL FOODS is looking for an incumbent who will be responsible to manage the entire pie warmer estate consisting of 1,132 warmers, Manages the revenue of the warmers, Manages, and provides insights on the asset register as well as Budget management.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • A tertiary qualification in Marketing or Finance would be advantageous.
    • Must reside in and around Durban.
    • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar environment would be advantageous.
    • A valid code EB drivers’ licence.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    Job Responsibilities

    • Installation of new warmers:
    • Receive warmer installation request from the outlet team/ NAM’s.
    • Lodge warmer installation request with agency RA to plan installation calendar and communicate to all parties involved.
    • Project Pie stop (Fresh stop’s Pie warmer project with customised branding) work directly with fresh stop (customer) to install warmers according to project Pie stop rollout.
    • Timeous rollout of R3m capex per year — project global warming is a strategic pie warmer project where new warmers are placed at Super Platinum, Platinum, Gold sites.
    • Ensure all new pie warmers are tagged so that the business can track the life stage of the warmer

    Maintenance, repair, and uplifts of existing warmers:

    • Receive requests from customers / outlet team / NAM's — requests related to any repairs, damages, or warmer upliftment’s.
    • Lodge request with RA and plan the calendar liaising with all parties involved.
    • Manag e weekly tracking report of RA's performance vs deliverables — ensure service level agreements is adhered to.

    Warmer Budget:

    • Manage the monthly warmer spend for installations, maintenance, repairs and upliftment’s. Budget may not exceed R200, 000 per month (R2.4m per year)
    • Motivate spend for new warmers (capex applications) —as per the joint business planning with customers.

    Weekly warmer tracker:

    • Set out monthly pie warmer placement targets for the outlet team.
    • Weekly tracker sent out to team to manage pie warmer placements.
    • and to indicate how many warmers are available for placement.
    • Monthly trends to be included in the reporting.

    Credit Controller (FTC) - Bedfordview

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Relevant Finance Diploma or Degree
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a credit and logistics environment
    • SAP or Syspro Expereince would be an added advantage
    • Experience working with exports accounts will be advantageous 

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    Credit Control

    • Generate and dispatch invoices or Pod’s on time to enable
    • Receive remittance advices from customers and allocate
    • Process all discounts and rebates for the Credit Supervisor to release before close of month-end.
    • Clear all allocated cash in the General
    • Prepare stock tolerance journals accurately, matching all debits and credits on the ERP system.
    • Prepare General Ledger accounts for authorization and release before statements are
    • Run statements on ERP prior to agreed monthly deadlines and distribute to customers.

    Customer Administration

    • Maintain compliance to credit limits for each customer and highlight possible non- conformance to the responsible supervisor before they exceed defined
    • Liaise with customers to inform them of the balances once statements have been distributed, to ensure interim payment is made or to assist with application/documents for increases in credit limits where indicated by the credit analysis report.
    • Report on all transactions on 60 days plus to the Credit
    • Process ‘stop supply’ instructions on ERP where customer non-payment payment has occurred, ensuring that all of the necessary instructions and authorizations have been received.
    • Where possible, liaise with customers to rectify account problems before “stop supply” instructions are implemented.
    • Advise customers when the account has been blocked and ensure that all necessary internal departments are aware of the status of the customer/account.

    Claim Processing

    • Schedule the claim on ERP for pricing where no valid deal exists and provide supporting documentation to the relevant team members for
    • Manage stock claims (returns, damaged stock, shortage ) by initiating the document flow.
    • Assess if credit has been passed on queries and, if it not, submit supporting documents electronically to the relevant

    Minimum Requirements    

    • A 3-year qualification in Food Technology, Biotechnology, or Consumer Science.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an FMCG/food processing environment.
    • Knowledge and understanding of QA systems TQM Knowledge.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric essential.

    • Technical Baking Training with Customers:
    • Provide formalized training align to the Outlet Targeting Model; at an agreed ranked coverage.

    • Compiling training plans for customers.
    • Carrying out a training needs analysis in store based on process and product.
    • Problem solve on product or process in the bakery environment.
    • Accurate record keeping of trainings completed.

    Product Extensions:

    • Works closely with Technical team in aligning implementation of innovation and new product development.
    • Works with customers to demonstrate extension of product to meet their consumer’s needs.
    • Test Bakes of Product Range/Customer Service:
    • Demonstrates the quality and advantages of the RCL Foods products towards potential and existing customers. Provides costings and yield results from test bakes.
    • Understand and present intrinsic product benefits aligned to profiled Outlets; according to RCL strategy.
    • Preparation of all samples required timeously; before scheduled demonstrations and/ or on site preparation.

    Complaint Handling:

    • Dealing with customer complaints and provide resolutions.
    • Reacts to complaint and strives to resolve issue timeously.
    • Ensures correct complaint handling process is adhered to.
