    Kitchen Sculler / Pot Washer Southern Suburbs, Western Cape

    This position will entail the successful incumbent to be flexible and able to work within all three the premises in the Southern Suburbs to ensure that the kitchen area is kept clean and hygienic at all times.

    Job duties include, but is not limited to the following:

    • To ensure that the kitchen is clean and tidy, equipment is clean and dustbins have been emptied
    • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans
    • Ensure fridges, windows and walls are clean at all times
    • Remove waste, placing it in designated pickup areas
    • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition
    • To adhere to the health and hygiene standards in the kitchen

    Experience and knowledge:

    • 6 months experience in cleaning, preferably in hotels and restaurants (advantageous)

    Qualifications:

    • Relevant culinary qualifications would be advantageous

    Occupational Therapist and Media Specialist Western Cape

    This role will be a combination and the successful incumbent's main responsibility will be to provide comprehensive Occupational Therapy services to the residents and patients at Tokai Estate as well as visit all six villages and ensure appropriate and relevant content is available in our residential common areas as well as available to all residents.

    Occupational Therapy duties include but are not limited to the following:

    • Direct intervention tasks: assessment, intervention planning, intervention implementation, group activity planning & facilitation, individual stimulation program planning & facilitation, support group facilitation, special event planning & facilitation.
    • Record keeping and administrative duties.
    • Attend and participate in monthly MDT meetings.
    • Ensure the department and program runs smoothly.
    • Meetings and communication.
    • Adhoc/temporary support services.
    • OT student supervision.
    • Volunteer coordination.
    • Development of written health promotion materials and newsletters.
    • Participate in staff training events as needed
    • Team participation in healthcare centre operations: pre-admission, admission, discharge, staff team building, staff evaluation & orientation.

    Media Content Specialist duties include but are not limited to:

    • Visiting the villages on a daily basis and ensuring that appropriate content is shown on the televisions.
    • Assist residents to communicate with their families on various platforms i.e. WhatsApp video call, Zoom, etc.
    • Arranging playlists of appropriate background music for the healthcare centres. 
    • Stay up-to-date with digital media developments.
    • Research trending topics on Netflix, DSTV, Shomax, Youtube etc. 
    • Interacting with the residents to get their input on what they would like to watch and ensure that appropriate media material on different topics are shown. 
    • Content streaming - Update and maintain a library of available material including latest films and music.
    • Compile music and slides for our club houses and healthcare facilities.

    Qualifications - Degree in OT and registered as an OT with HPCSA

    Experience and Knowledge - Experience in Geriatrics, Dementia, or mental health and facilitating groups, media content knowledge

    Buyer Assistant

    The buyer will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand.

    The Buyer should be analytically minded and possess excellent negotiating skills to secure the best prices according to budget. Knowledge of sales and marketing principles is advantageous.

    Requirements: 

    Duties will include, but are not limited to:

    • Build relationships with suppliers 
    • Assist the Snr Buyer to scrutinising costs
    • Evaluating and pricing of variations
    • Processing construction orders as per the order sheet received from Quantity Surveyor 
    • Processing requests for healthcare facilities repairs 
    • Preparation of orders, and emailing to suppliers
    • Making sure products/items are delivered on time and meet the required standards
    • Ensure all Orders are processed as per the requisitions received
    • Communicate any supply problems to the Snr Buyer
    • Provide analysis of costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities
    • Assist Snr Buyer, with contacting suppliers to resolve price issues, quality, delivery or invoice issues 
    • Submit payment request to the finance team
    • Processing logged items for healthcare and body corporate orders as per the purchase requisitions received 
    • Following up quote requests and approvals
    • Tracking and managing stock and issuing 
    • Processing staff uniform orders, tracking and following up on timeous deliveries,
    • Weekly stock checks of items stored at Claremont office 

    Qualifications:

    • Relevant degree would be an advantage

    Experience:

    • Proven work experience in a similar role
    • Experience within procurement in the construction industry highly beneficial

    Pilates Instructor - Independent Contractor (SLA Agreement)

    We are seeking a reliable, passionate and certified Pilates Instructor (Independent Contractor)  that can commit to an in-person part-time class schedule. Enjoy working with the senior community at our Heritage Manor in Somerset West.

    • Verbal screening: ensuring that all users are safe to participate and are advised of what to do if they are not.
