    Job Description

    The Risk Management Analyst reports to the Head of Risk, Visa Sub-Sahara Africa and will be responsible for payment cards fraud prevention, management of fraud, ecosystem Risk, Enterprise risk, Payment Information security and acquiring risk in South Africa.

     

    The prospective candidate will support implementation of the global risk management strategy in the assigned market- South Africa. Further, this role serves as a risk services specialist who can provide client consulting, recommendation of best practices and implement strategies to mitigate fraud trends and increase client risk performance. This function collaborates extensively with a wide range of organizations, regulators, law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders in managing the payments ecosystem risk

     


    What we expect of you, day to day.

    • Support country risk initiatives and projects

    • Proactively analyze and assess clients’ trend to identify risk opportunities for value creation and improved performance

    • Support the enterprise risk management strategy for the country and region

    • Support the strategic focus and priorities of the country risk plan

    • Support client incident investigation and remediation effort

    • Conduct trainings through various channels including face-to-face and virtual such as Webinars for banking representatives, law enforcement, prosecution and regulators

    • Champion information security and acquiring risk self-assessment as well as substantive testing

    • Achieve market-level fraud targets (issuing and acquiring, cross border acquiring and CNP acquiring)

    • Support organization of Visa's CEMEA Risk Summits and Sub-Regional Risk Executives Councils

    • support Visa member banks in day-to day activities and execution of the banks risk strategy

    • Promote fraud risk management related cooperation with other payment cards brands if possible and legally permitted

    • Promote Visa Global Payment System Risk Strategy with industry stakeholders and governments

    • Support deployment of risk products and solutions (e.g., VRM, VCAS, VAP, other)

    • Support country management in overall business development

    • Support Credit Settlement Risk, AML, Enterprise Risk Management and Risk Strategy & Operations in risk identification and mitigation

    • Build relationship with industry stakeholders, government, and law enforcement

    • With Corporate Communications, support Visa's risk communications strategy

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • 3 years of work experience in Risk or related second line of defense roles
    • Prior experience in South African payment sector
    • Strong communication and collaborative skills
    • Strong understanding of Open banking requirements
    • Ability to assess data, interpret ambiguous situations, and make decisions under pressure
    • Knowledge in fraud prevention methods and detection tools
    • Understanding of mitigating online fraud, such as account takeover, phishing, online card testing, etc.
    • Risk Management experience with traditional and alternative payment methods
    • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize information and make clear, concise recommendations on a course of action
    • Understanding of cross-functional roles within an organization including vendor physical security, customer service, dispute processing, fulfillment, and fraud prevention
    • Creative, team-focused problem-solving skills with drive for deadline completion
    • Flexibility with schedule as job requires
    • Expert level MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, One Note, Access)
    • Travel maybe required but very limited

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience
    • Risk Framework creation / experience a plus
    • Knowledge of mobile and multi-channel commerce solutions is a plus

    Job Description

    Cybersource, Visa’s digital merchant and acquirer payment management platform, with industry leading global processing connectivity, risk and fraud management, and payment acceptance solutions. Cybersource is a strategic distribution platform for Visa products and services, and a critical value-added service for merchants and acquirers accepting many payment methods globally.

    Regional Solutions Management is the strategy and solutioning team that works with the regional sales, business development and marketing teams to understand market trends and opportunities and key client needs, and to develop product investment and go-to-market plans. The CEMEA Regional Solutions Manager serves as a liaison between Sales and Product, developing strategy and driving delivery of compelling solutions for our client segments and verticals.

    This role has overall responsibility for Cybersource Solutions within the CEMEA region, reports to the Global Head of Regional Solutions with an indirect reporting line to the CEMEA business lead. The person in role will be an active member of CEMEA Cybersource leadership team. This is an individual contributor role.

    • Drive efforts to evolve overall Cybersource solution strategy and product investment prioritisation within the region, to establish business sponsorship and define execution criteria

    • Manage all aspects of demand, prioritisation, tracking, reporting and delivery of CEMEA region funded product under the Global Expansion initiative

    • Drive efforts to evolve the Cybersource local market solution strategy/prioritisation to establish business sponsorship and define execution criteria

    • Champion the adoption and commercialisation of new products into the region supporting the business with client evaluations of beta product

    • Participate in the commercialisation process for new products acting as the regional representative across areas such as pricing, packaging, solution marketing and sales training

    • Develop and maintain regional solutions roadmap informed by the solution prioritisation process and underlying product capability builds and specific project efforts

    • Support client teams with solution requirements and definition for strategic clients, acquirers and enterprise merchants, working with Sales Engineering and Global Services team members as required

    Experience

    • Advanced technical, business and operational understanding of banking and payment card systems and processes

    The Visa Direct Product team is responsible for leading Visa’s efforts to support all channels and extend payouts to cards, accounts and wallets in the future. Building on Visa Direct’s market leading platform, the Visa Direct service enables corporates, governments, banks. Fintechs, etc., unprecedented options to send payments to consumers and small business around the world.

     

    We are seeking a Product Solutions team member who can help drive critical growth initiatives in the SSA region working in a complex, matrixed environment.  The ideal candidate will be a structured, analytical thinker with excellent communication skills and a strong interest in how products are developed and delivered. S/he enjoys variety and collaborating with people. S/he is thoughtful, curious and analytical with a desire to make an impact. S/he is client-centric and oriented around finding solutions to complex problems.

    This product and solutioning role will report to the Regional Head of Commercialization and Solutioning for Visa Direct in SSA. The role holder will be accountable for development and commercialization of the Visa Direct capability across markets, new use cases and services for the SSA region. Equal parts product ownership and solutioning the role holder will plan, think through, develop and support commercialization of the Visa Direct cross-border capability with internal and external partners.

    The person is responsible for the solutioning of a suite of solutions (both to card or accounts or wallets) cross border payments. These are all payment services that Visa provides to clients (issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants and service providers) to facilitate fund transfers/disbursements to accounts around the world using push payment technology. Money Movement consumer and business applications include person to person (P2P) transfer, person to micro-business transfer (e.g. payments to landscaper), cross border remittance and funds disbursements (e.g., marketplace seller payouts, insurance claim disbursements, acquirer merchant settlement).  

    Responsibilities

     

    You will be responsible for working collaboratively with front line sales and account executives, client solutioning team in the hub and in-country Visa Direct team members.  Working within the organization for timely solution launches, you will lead engagements with senior client stakeholders, pitch value proposition and help create solutions for various cross-border money movement opportunities.  You will need to:

     

    • Consult with clients, partners and prospects to design solutions that accelerate adoption of Visa Direct

    • Support segment and sales leads for Cross Border, to sell Visa Direct products to banks, remittance platforms, digital partners, etc.

    • Provide business and technical solutions for new use-cases penetrating target markets, by assessing market/client/prospect needs, reviewing ecosystem readiness, collaboration with regional, global, and cross-border product and commercialization teams

    • Enable solutions by working with cross-functional stakeholders including Legal, Finance, Client Support (CS), Risk, Compliance, AML, and other product teams across Visa

    • Be a Visa Direct product SME and support client implementations

    • Monitor business enhancement releases and other product related changes and be a focal point of contact for the AP region

    • Represent voice of the client within the product roadmap and work closely with product development teams to ensure readiness in implementing new solutions

    • Support client pricing deal negotiations or incentives, operating under the regional pricing framework, aligned with global pricing strategy/policy, pricing operations, while taking into account the regional competitive environment 

    • Work closely with origination points (North America, Europe, other sub-regions of CEMEA) to drive inbound volumes for key corridors into SSA, CEMEA.  Work on driving intra-SSA volumes on the Visa Direct rails

    Qualifications

    • Experience in payments, banking or payment processing, having performed product management, or solutioning roles
    • Experience in developing a cross border payment flows business within the SSA region, e.g. with personal remittances or corporate/treasury payouts
    • Skilled at client conversations and can clearly articulate technical solutions
    • Ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to broad audiences in an approachable way.
    • Understanding of API and service-oriented architecture
    • Organizational and leadership abilities to influence, negotiate and drive results
    • Embrace change and ambiguity in an ecosystem that is rapidly evolving.
    • Consultative product solutions experience within an enterprise or financial services environment
    • Knowledge of regional market, competitive landscape and related dynamics
    • Ability to think creatively to solve problems with customer at the center
