    Specialist: Solution Architect

    Role Purpose:

    The Specialist: Solution Architect position is based within the Technology Business Unit.

    The Solution Architect is responsible for interpreting business requirements and producing system designs in Vodacom’s Contact Centre environment. This role will also assist with implementing projects and configuration changes as well as providing consulting to team members and other business users.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Accountable for functioning, well performing system designs
    • Providing timeous, accurate information to support Business Analysts
    • Compile System Design and Acceptance documents based on business requirements (BRS document), current system environment and architectural input
    • Perform proof of concept/feasibility verifications for features required by Business and Business Analysts; provide guidance on system capabilities
    • Assist with the implementation of new projects including liaising with other technical departments, installing software, creating configuration, troubleshooting and performing acceptance testing
    • Ad hoc development of tools or small interface components
    • Impact Assessments – Identify all impacted systems in order for the Solution to be delivered, eespecially if system integration will be required between different systems.
    • Identify Enablers/Capabilities that need to be developed in order for future Solutions/Features to be delivered.
    • Identify Technical Debt and prioritize with the Development Team in order for us to have Continuous improvement and bring stability to the environment.  

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    Senior Specialist Automation

    Role Purpose

    The Senior Specialist Automation role is based within Commercial Operations.

    The Digital Tribe team is responsible for designing and deploying digitised and automated business processes and across all of Vodacom Customer Operations channels. This is part of the Robotics Process Automation and Internal Chatbot squad. The purpose of the role is to ensure that through automation, Vodacom delivers an unmatched customer experience, reduces cost to service, reduces churn and drives revenue across multiple lines of business. This role requires experience with automation tools and methodologies, working in an agile, collaborative team, and working with other Vodafone operating companies to align, comply and implemented automation. The role is core to delivering exceptional customer experience across our lines of business and will have a direct influence on the headline Key Performance Indicators and efficiency metrics.

    The Software Engineer is responsible for creating prototypes, designing, and building modules and solutions in an iterative agile cycle, develop, maintain, and optimize the business outcome.  This role is responsible for estimating user and technical stories, designing, and developing code, writing, and executing unit and integration tests, and supporting testing of deliverables against user and technical story acceptance tests.  The incumbent is responsible for performing peer reviews, collaborating with architects and other developers to produce “just enough” design, and ensuring that enough technical documentation and training is provided for reference and operational support.  This role is responsible for providing software-related operations support, including managing level two and level three incident and problem management.
     

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Manager - Dealer Commissions

    Role Purpose:

    • The Order to Cash (OTC) function is responsible to correctly execute all trade partner incentive payments, reconcile all interfaces, and generate invoices and credit notes for trade partners. The end result is to accurately reflect the financial position of the organisation and to ensure local financial statements are compliant with accounting standards.The manager of Order to Cash should be able to lead a team, processes and information requirements to perform accounting responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with defined operating procedures, policies, SOX, compliance and business partner service level agreements. There will be a close relationship with a wide array of operational teams. The incumbent will take a leadership role to enable this achievement through application of best practice in sustainable continuous improvement, working collaboratively with Finops functions globally, Finance Business Partners and the wider South African organisation.The incumbent’s people, personal and operational leadership skills will be of a very high standard.  Past achievements will clearly demonstrate a capability to manage in World class transactional processing and business partner excellence.     Your responsibilities will include:

    Reporting

    • SAP & HFM reports.
    • Monthly Balance Sheet & Income Statement.
    • Monthly Management Reports.
    • Monthly KPI/KFIs.
       

    Month-end

    • Review weekly and monthly financial reports relating to Acquisition and Retention Costs.
    • Analyse the reports to derive insights and provide financial recommendations to Senior Leadership to support the operational strategy of the business to achieve the financial targets.
    • Reviewing accruals and provision calculations and identify areas of improvement to reduce accruals.
    • Review agreements between Vodacom and various stakeholders and engage with the Shared service centre on process optimisation relating to invoice processing.

    Dealer Commission Accounting Process Management

    • Manage the Dealer Commissions Team to ensure that the information used to report results and provide analyses to Senior Leadership and decision makers is valid, accurate and complete;
    • Engage with the Executive Heads prior to finalisation of contracts to provide recommendations and impact assessments on working capital management/accounting therein.
    • Provide guidance on the content of Commercial agreements to ensure the business objectives align to the applicable accounting treatment.
    • Prepare and present reports and analysis on financial results to Senior Leadership.

    Working capital management

    • Review the cash flow forecasts for Dealer Commissions and engage with Senior Leadership on the forecasted position and underlying risks.
    • Review working capital KPI’s to determine whether forecasting models are accurate or require amendments.
    • Support the Business Unit team with setting budgeting and forecasting for Commissions.

    Reporting and insightful analysis of results to Senior Leadership

    • Analyse key trend analysis for Commissions and Incentives to ensure completeness, accuracy and validity of the results and provide recommendations to Senior Leadership.
    • Liaise with Senior Leadership to design robust management reports and information tools which will better assist them in decision making.
    • Review interim and year-end stat packs and financial statements within the Vodacom South Africa group of companies.

    Controls and compliance 

    • Risk identification and control implementation on all financial processes within the Finance Operations.
    • Maintain an effective control environment over Commissions and Incentives, identifying weaknesses and rolling out solutions.
    • Ensure a clean audit report for both internal and external audit and that any open items are closed by their due dates.

    Process improvements and issues resolution 

    • Identify KPI which will assist in the analysis of key areas and analyse the results of these KPI’s to provide input to Senior Leadership on the effectiveness of processes and controls. 
    • Utilise existing experience and knowledge to identify synergies within FinOps and ensure these synergies are efficiently incorporated.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Matric / Grade 12.
    • BCom graduate, in Accountancy or business related field is essential.
    • Qualified CA is an advantage.
    • 8+ years related financial experience e.g. accounting, inventory, audit articles etc. including supervisory experience.
    • SAP and HFM experience.
    • ICT industry experience.
    • Systems implementation and project management.

    Specialist: Data & Analytics

    Role Purpose

    • This role is responsible for advanced and exploratory data analytics, modelling and insights to:
    • enhance marketing efforts, campaign efficacy and portfolio performance
    • To drive business growth and profitability
    • To monitor product performance, and drive product development and product enhancements
    • To highlight process inefficiencies

    • BI Solutions: Partner with Qlik developers and solution architects to design transformational analytical solutions

    • Actionable Insights: Deliver daily and monthly insights from data models to support commercial action and financial steering
    • AI into BI: Incorporate new technologies such as machine learning and robotics to increase process efficiencies, enhance predictive forecasting and improve quality of insights

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Degree/ Honours/in quantitative fields like Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, or related disciplines.
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in delivering solid commercial impact advanced analytics projects.
    • Expertise in data manipulation: use of structured data tools (e.g. SQL), & unstructured data tools and platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL)
    • Expertise in major statistical modelling software packages (e.g., R, SAS) and multivariate techniques (e.g. k-means segmentation, multiple regression, factor analysis, time-series forecasting) - preferred
    • Experience in digital analytics and its applications, e.g., google analytics, adobe analytics, social listening, social network analysis)

    Specialist: Software Engineer

    Purpose of the role

    This role is directly responsible for ensuring scalable digital platforms within the company and will be actively involved in crafting and delivering software architectures that are fit for purpose into the future.  The role will have in depth knowledge of mobile software architectures and frameworks as well as web platform technology.  The role will be directly responsible for compliance to these architectures through manual and automated controls and will take a very deep and active role in managing performance and stability of assets, agile delivery frameworks deployed and devops methodologies

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Bachelors degree in a technical field – essential
    • 3+ years of Strong technical knowledge of Java and web and mobile based (IOS and Android) development technologies and suites required and associated frameworks
    • Very deep technical knowledge of Java and web and mobile based (IOS and Android) development technologies and suites required
    • Knowledge of emerging technologies/industry trends along with the ability to leverage them in application development and support initiatives
