An established company in the construction industry is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their team. This role is ideal for a payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with high volumes, and takes pride in delivering accurate, compliant payroll every time.
If you have solid experience with Sage 300 People, understand the complexities of wages payroll, and can confidently manage payroll from start to finish with minimal supervision, this opportunity is for you.
Responsibilities:
Process monthly wages payroll accurately and on time using Sage 300 People
Import, reconcile and validate ERS-Bio time and attendance data
Capture and maintain employee payroll information, earnings, overtime, allowances, leave and deductions
Ensure employee records remain accurate, compliant and up to date
Manage employee onboarding, terminations and payroll-related changes
Monitor timesheets, attendance exceptions and payroll authorisations
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies before payroll cut-off
Generate payroll reports and assist with payroll audits
Liaise with site teams regarding timesheets, approvals and payroll queries
Provide HR administrative support, including employee documentation and record management
Ensure compliance with South African payroll legislation and company policies
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Payroll Administrator role, preferably within the construction, engineering or industrial sector
Strong working knowledge of Sage 300 People (essential)
Experience working with time and attendance systems, preferably ERS-Bio
Sound knowledge of South African payroll legislation, including BCEA, UIF, PAYE, SDL, COIDA and applicable bargaining council requirements
Excellent reconciliation, numerical and administrative skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organisational and time management abilities
Professional, discreet and able to handle confidential information
Able to work independently and meet strict deadlines
