    Enrolled Nurse

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Clinical services:

    • Screen patients for STIs, TB/HIV and refer for further management
    • Facilitate established support groups for patients living with HIV/AIDS
    • Establish and implement adolescent ART support groups at all targeted facilities
    • Assist at alternative distribution sites to ensure efficient running of the programme
    • Support and perform monitoring activities including updating of registers, collection of statistics and validation of data
    • Compile and analyse patient data and statistics as required
    • Provide in-service training on facilitation of support groups to Department of Health’s (DoH) facility Enrolled Nurses
    • Compile and submit relevant reports weekly, monthly and quarterly
    • Assist with implementation of decanting modalities as facility level as per need (Cohorting, Phlebotomy, completion of register etc.) to ensure efficient running of the programme.

    Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

    • Registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an Enrolled Nurse including work in TB, HIV and AIDS environment
    • Ability to communicate in local languages an advantage
    • An interest in community outreach and skills development advantage

    Counsellor Linkage Officer

     Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide HIV testing services (HTS) to clients.
    • Be available to assist all clients tested for HIV in the facility and from the community outreach sites.
    • Ensure that all clients tested positive are linked into care.
    • Follow up on all facility newly initiated clients, for adherence counselling.
    • Keep record of clients who are initiated on ART.
    • Attend facility meetings as required to discuss HTS/HIV/TB/STI related issues.  

    Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required:

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • At least 2 years’ experience working as a HTS counsellor.
    • Certificate in Basic Hast, HIV Counselling, Adherence counselling.
    • Knowledge of DoH, HTS guidelines and protocols.
    • Must be able to work independently and in a team.
    • Be able to work with little supervision.
    • Good communication skills.

    Youth Ambassador X 10

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    Health Promotion:

    • Conduct age-appropriate adolescent-centred health talks to adolescents using existing IEC materials in the facility and the community.
    • Promote B-wise usage and sign-up clients.
    • Educate adolescents on their health-related rights and responsibilities, specifically HTS, AYFS, SRH and PrEP.
    • Do practical demonstrations on condom use, hand washing and other healthcare practices
    • Promote condom use and ensure condoms are distributed/provided to clients.
    • Conduct demand creation for outreach services and address barriers among youth to access contraceptives and GBV services.

    Linkage to the care of adolescent and youth:

    • Serve as a contact person and navigator for adolescents accessing healthcare services.
    • Assist in creating awareness of CBO service packages facilitating and strengthening referrals.
    • Promote the uptake of HIV testing and linkage to adolescent care and support them through the process.
    • Follow up to ensure clients attend their scheduled appointments
    • Identify, recruit, facilitate and maintain clients in Youth Care Clubs and support groups within selected facilities

    Improving retention in care and virological suppression:

    • Create a safe space for adolescents to discuss social and health-related issues affecting them
    • Support disclosure and adherence and refer for disclosure those with poor adherence and unsuppressed VLs
    • Recruit HIV-positive adolescents & youth to youth care clubs (YCCs) and adult services
    • Organisation and facilitation of Youth Care Clubs

     Health Facility Engagement:

    • Form part of the multidisciplinary facility team and work with the teams to ensure that the programme’s targets are met
    • Participate on the Clinics’ Health Committee/Forum and represent adolescents in these forums
    • Develop adolescent’s friendly forum where adolescent health opinions, concerns and expectations are taken into consideration
    • Act as a voice for adolescents in the facility/community for HIV related issues
    • Promote Adolescent and Youth Friendly Service Provision

     Community Engagement:

    • Serve as a link between adolescents, local clinics, CBOs, other NPOs and other health services within the community
    • Under supervision, establish or strengthen links with schools (when necessary) and actively engage in outreach programmes
    • Serve as youth representative for ANOVA Health Institute at various youth gatherings and platforms

    Administration:

    • Keep an updated record of number of clients supported to HTS, tested HIV  positive, linked into care and youth clubs, or HIV negative linked to PrEP service etc. in line with stationery used by DoH and Anova
    • Keep records including heath education registers, agenda, and minutes
    • Be available to work afterhours (weekends or Public Holidays) at DoH facilities and at community level when required
    • Manage project resources (airtime and data usage)
    • Attend meetings as required
    • Under supervision, be able to assist in file audits when necessary

    Reporting:

    • Ensure timeous submission of reports (workload etc.)
    • Adhere to DoH facility reporting format for data and report according to facility protocol
    • Report monthly to Technical Advisor and ensure that youth data is included in Anova facility team report

    Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required:

    • Completed Grade 12
    • Local youth between 19 and 32 years of age
    • Currently  not engaged in formal education
    • Experience in public speaking and previous leadership roles an advantage
    • Experience working with adolescents in facilities, community, or schools
    • Experience as a LoveLife Ground-breaker or peer-to-peer youth program, an advantage
    • Prior knowledge of HIV/AIDS
    • A recognised HIV counselling certificate would be a distinct advantage.
    • Ability to follow strict confidentiality requirements
    • Ability to influence young people towards behaviour modification

    Sub-District Manager

    Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Provide clinical advice to DOH and PHC (Primary Health Care) staff on HIV, TB, PMTCT & Paediatric management
    • Plan, develop and review overall strategy for the sub-district in line with the overall Health Systems Strengthening and 909090 HIV/TB strategy
    • Support Anova Non roving and roving team leaders (through mentorship, providing technical advice, conducting joint stakeholder engagement activities, conducting facility level support visits, etc.) to ensure that agreed upon activities are successfully implemented in facilities
    • Manage a diverse team of staff in conjunction with other line managers (e.g. M&E, HTS, Pharmacy etc.) in order to ensure efficient project delivery
    • Provide programme performance reports (verbal and written) to Programme manager, DOH, Anova management as agreed upon with the Deputy Programme manager

    Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required:

    • Bachelor’s MBChB degree or BCurr or B. Pharmacy with a Postgraduate qualification with Primary Health Care speciality (Nurse Clinician)
    • Minimum 3 years’ post community service clinical experience (for medical doctors) and 8 years for Nurse Clinicians
    • At least 2 years’ experience in a management or senior role within comprehensive HIV/TB programmes
    • Understanding of TB/HIV/(E)PMTCT programmes, programme indicators and monitoring & evaluate
    • Ability to analyse and interpret HIV/TB programme data to inform programme planning and implementation
    • Demonstrate initiative, and the ability to develop and carry out work plans and solve problems
    • Good knowledge of antiretroviral therapy, TB and chronic medication
    • Quality Improvement and project management skills, an advantage
    • Valid HPCSA registration as Independent Practioner or valid SANC registration
    • Experience in leading a team, management, or supervision of staff
    • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

    Payroll Manager

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    Payroll Management:

    • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
    • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations and changes to pay rates.
    • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
    • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
    • EFT transfers and costing to be generated through payroll.
    • Payroll Reconciliations of General Ledger, Bank Accounts and Salary Control Accounts, and resolution of discrepancies
    • Ensure maternity leave and changes are allocated correctly.
    • Provident Fund, Medical Aid and UIF functions are performed, and that all relevant paperwork are kept up to date.
    • Ensure that monthly and yearly PAYE, IRP5’s and IT3A’s deadlines are met.
    • Audit monthly payroll
    • Maintain in-depth technical and professional knowledge of the payroll function and legislation.
    • Co-ordinate, schedule and review payroll activities; correspond with employees regarding payroll activities and procedures.
    • Monitor compliance of legislative changes; recommend procedural changes as necessary; and design and implement the use of payroll-related forms.
    • Create guidelines on payroll-related processes, including timekeeping procedures, ESS and Infoslips.

    Reporting:

    • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
    • Reconcile monthly payroll general ledger accounts.
    • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual payroll reports.
    • Prepare ad hoc reports as requested. 

    People management:

    • Manage staff (in line with policies, procedures, and standards) by:
    • Partnering with HR on recruitment and induction of new team members.
    • Managing the performance review process.
    • Identifying training needs or staff support needs and ensuring that such training or support is provided.
    • Mentoring and guiding staff by facilitating regular meetings.
    • Any other tasks as agreed with line manager.

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Matric Certificate
    • Tertiary degree or Diploma in Accounting or related field required.
    • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
    • 8 to 10 years’ payroll experience
    • Minimum 5 years in payroll management role
    • Certification on Sage VIP Premier/Sage 300 People and ESS and working knowledge.
    • Knowledge of BCEA, LRA and related legislation
    • Report generation (Excel and VIP BIM/Smart)
    • Significant experience in a related position with increasing levels of responsibility.

    Rehab Care Worker - Strandfontein

    Key Job Responsibilities:

    • Assist patients in their daily activities, including personal hygiene, eating, dressing, and mobility, while maintaining their dignity and privacy.

    Outreach Team Lead

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Lead defaulter tracing activities
    • Conduct physical tracing.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Minimum of One year of work experience in nursing
    • Experience of working within community health programs
    • Up to date knowledge on South African HIV/TB programs, preferably in the public health sector
    • Counselling experience, especially HIV.
    • Up to date professional body registration
    • Confidentiality and discretion
    • Ability to work in a poorly resourced environment.
    • Ability to work weekends, as and when required.
