    Principal Consultant (Mine Rehabilitation and Closure)

    Responsibilities:

    • Managing mine rehabilitation and closure, next land use, and post-mining economy planning projects.
    • Leading closure project teams
    • Conceptualising appropriate, feasible solutions to address complex closure related challenges and clearly articulating these using reports, spread sheets and drawings.
    • Develop mine closure strategies, plans, policies, and procedures.
    • Utilising a working knowledge of AutoCAD, QGIS Google Earth PRO and related software packages to compile reference maps that comply with the relevant regulatory and/or internal company standards.
    • Liaison with clients and financial auditors to address queries and finalise reports.
    • Build and maintain relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Health and safety
    • Willingness to travel in Southern, Central and Western Africa. 

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Minimum of six years’ relevant consulting experience in the fields of mine rehabilitation and closure planning and related management functions
    • Graduate degree in Environmental Management, Mining or Civil Engineering, Agricultural Management, Soil Science or Landscape Architecture, Honors’ Degree advantageous
    • Professionally registered and qualified in relevant specialist field, or able to demonstrate that qualification is in process.
    • Demonstrate working knowledge and understanding of various mining activities and aspects (e.g. legislations, and compliance, processes and layouts and mining terminology)
    • Advanced use of MS Excel is a prerequisite.
    • Proficient use of AutoCAD; MS Office suite of programs especially MS Projects; Google Earth Pro, and Adobe Acrobat Pro is required.

    Executive Head of Legal and Contracts / Company Secretary

    Requirements:

    • A Degree in law (LLB) and MBA or MBL.
    • Admission as an Attorney
    • 8 to 10 years relevant experience in a senior management position.
    • General knowledge of law which includes Corporate law, Civil Law, Interpretation of statutes, Constitutional law, Administrative law, Commercial law, International Law and Labour Law.
    • Technical knowledge of legal structures within infrastructure construction.
    • Excellent fluency in English

    • Conduct Legal research where legal opinions may be required by business stakeholders or the board.
    • Management and closure of all external litigation/disputes
    • Management and finalization of all insurance related matters in favour of the company, its customers and the Group.
    • Risk identification and mitigation thereof 

    Additional responsibilities as Company Secretary:

    • Implementation of the decisions of the Board of Directors
    • Acting as an advisor to the Board of Directors
    • Handle company share transactions, arranging dividend payments and observing all legal requirements
    • Liaison with auditors, attorneys, tax advisors, bankers and shareholders on board governance issues
