    Specialist Contractor - Mamatwan Mine

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    As a specialist contractor management you will be responsible to coordinate end-to-end Contractor activities and monitor compliance to HMM and South32 Contractor Management frameworks, standards and processes.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Conduct CM Procedure audits and 1st line verifications (integrate findings into G360);
    • Maintain and review CM related controlled documents;
    • Verify that all Contractors working for HMM have the appropriate qualification and skills for respective function, as predetermined by the Contractor Management Framework and Standards;
    • Provide Contractors with the information that they require about PPE and the correct tools to perform the job and liaise with HSER and Operations when required regarding related queries, complaints and escalated issues;
    • Verify that all aspects of Contractor onboarding have been followed, all related compliance has been confirmed, and that the Contractor is able to enter the premises and proceed with their work;
    • Track and flag contract expiry dates and engage with the relevant stakeholders six months in advance;
    • Verify documents waiting for approval on HSEC Online and communicate requirements to Contractor companies including inductions, training, copies of personal documents and risk assessments;
    • Perform monthly and quarterly audits to ensure that Contractors comply to all aspects of the Contractors Management Framework;
    • Provide monthly reports to operations - stewardship health checks;
    • Take part in ad hoc improvement projects as and when required;

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Must have a minimum of 5 year’s relevant safety, project or supervisory experience;
    • Computer literacy in MS Suite;
    • In depth knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation / DMR;
    • In depth knowledge and understanding of contractor management

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Degree/BTECH/National Diploma in Engineering or Business Management.

    Supervisor Recycling & Bath Plant MN - Richards Bay

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    As a Supervisor Recycling and Bath Plant you will be responsible to lead a Maintenance team within an operation area or in a specialised discipline over the entire Operation and ensure all maintenance activities on the plant, equipment and utilities under accountability are safely executed against schedules, plans, and specified standards.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Ensure compliance with statutory legislation, and South32 standards and requirements;
    • Implement effective risk management processes and engage relevant stakeholders to ensure adherence;
    • Identify and develop cost-effective processes to increase efficiency and reduce cost drivers;

    • Ensure that team members initiate appropriate master data changes (create, change or delete) to task lists and or work instructions.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • 4 - 6 years’ experience in Industrial Maintenance;
    • Supervisory Experience would be advantageous;.

    • Degree/Btech/National Diploma in technical field of study;

    Supervisor Production Drill & Blast - Mamatwan Mine

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    As a supervisor drill and blast you will be responsible to supervise a team of people (Employees & Contractors) within the relevant section by ensuring safe and cost-effective production at an operational team level.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Execute the production and/or logistics activities according to the mining Schedule;
    • Manage operator time and attendance;
    • Conduct daily lean meetings;
    • Ensure safe declaration is done for all active areas of responsibility:
    • Work with physical assets, plant and equipment as defined by the Operation’s standards and operating procedures;
    • Ensure compliance to the Global 360 & 1SAP Work Management process for work execution and capture related transactional data in these systems;
    • Adhere to defined standard procedures and apply safe work practices;
    • Review and update plans and equipment history and communicate status to appropriate parties;
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all events and hazards.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a hard rock mining environment of which 3 years should have been in a supervisory capacity;
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Drilling & Blasting;
    • Strong experience in developing commercial strategies and leading high value strategic negotiations, strong understanding of commercial principles;

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Grade 12;
    • Surface Blasting Certificate;
    • Sound knowledge and understanding of HSE & labor legislation;
    • Mine Overseer’s Certificate of Competency or Degree/ BTECH / National Diploma in a Mining related qualification is advantageous;

    Coordinator Master Data - Johannesburg

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Minimum 3 years relevant experience, preferably in a Shared Services Environment;
    • Experience within a large Global organisation would be beneficial;
    • Solid understanding of relevant SAP Modules (e.g. Finance/ HR/ Supply);

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    As a administrator hserc you will be responsible to provide professional administrative support the HSERC Department including the administration of the business, External incident reporting and the preparation of all monthly reporting.

    • Provide administrative support to coordinate the HSER team’s activities, including the preparation of monthly reports, materials for meetings and presentations;

    Miner - Mamatwan Mine

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    As a miner you will be responsible to mine and extract ore according to Mining legislation and regulations.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Taking charge of the opencast blasting operations within the designated area;
    • Ensure the delivery of quality product to the plant;
    • Achieve the daily production targets;
    • Manage operator time and attendance;
    • Conduct daily lean meetings;
    • Be familiar with the production process activities, trends and brief operators accordingly at the start of each shift;
    •  Handle explosives in the mining environment; lock up extra or unused explosives and accessories;

    • Must have a minimum of 3 year’s experience in a hard rock mining environment;

    • Open cast blasting certificate for Metalliferous Mines;
    • Valid drivers license.
