    Software Tester - Durban

    Description:

    • Test projects independently and see this to completion.
    • Test estimation of the test effort involved for each testing task based on risk considerations.
    • Extract test requirements from business requirements specifications or user stories.
    • Write quality test plans, test cases and bug reports.
    • Test software and report errors to ensure a reduction in live defects.
    • Work directly with the tech leads, Product Owners and developers to create and execute test plans and report any findings.
    • Mentor Junior Testers.
    • Test APIs thoroughly.
    • Query a DB to prove data correctness (MSSQL, MongoDB).
    • Articulate description of issues very well using narrative steps supplemented with screenshots and videos.
    • Ensure that the software that is deployed live meets an acceptable quality standard.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

    Requirements:

    • Computer science related diploma or degree is preferred.
    • Certifcate in software testing (ISTQB preferred).
    • Minimum 3 years experience as a Software Tester.
    • Must be able to work odd hours occasionally for deployments (e.g software updates/upgrades).
    • Basic understanding of UI automation using a web driver tool.
    • Basic experience using tools to automate repeatable tests.
    • High attention to detail.

    The detail 

    • Training preparation and facilitation - Update lesson plans, training material and versions to be used in facilitation of training in accordance with our curriculum, systems and/or product changes.

    This position will: 

    • Provide HR policy and procedure guidance 
    • Support the design, development and execution of full cycle recruitment plans and talent sourcing strategies ·
    • Analyse trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.

    Key Focus and Duties: 

    • Accurately prepare forecasts and budgets for call & non-call workloads and resource, monitoring drivers against business change & developing models to improve accuracy. 
    • Determine and communicate short term/medium term staff capacity and roster establishment for phone/non phone staff to 6 weeks in advance.
