    Gardener- Somerset West

    Job Description
    Faircape Life operates 6 high-end retirement/lifestyle villages in the Western Cape. Locations of these estates are in Noordhoek, Kirstenhof, Tokai, Somerset West and Onrus.

    We are looking for Groundsmen/Gardners to work at our Bridgewater Manor in Somerset west. The Groundsman is responsible for maintaining the gardens and grounds of the village and ensuring an acceptable appearance of trees, shrubs, flowers, beds and lawns, and to keep the grounds free from refuse, weeds, harmful insects and plant diseases.
    Duties will include but are not limited to the following:

    Garden Maintenance:

    • Pruning of trees and overgrown shrubs
    • Reinstate plant beds and garden redevelopment
    • Turning over of plant beds
    • Cutting of grass and trimming
    • Weeding 
    • Hand/additional watering when required

    Tools & Machinery:

    • Inspecting tools before and after use (lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, brush-cutters)

    Housekeeping Supervisor- Noordhoek

    Job Description
    The Faircape Group operates 6 high end retirement/lifestyle villages in the Western Cape. We are seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor at Noordhoek Manor to carry out various cleaning duties and to ensure our facilities are in an orderly condition. 

    Job duties include, but is not limited to the following:

    Quality Control:

    • Ensure priority tasks are completed timeously such as cleaning rooms prior to admission of new residents. 
    • Perform room inspection according to the standard checklist along with the Unit or Nursing Services Manager.
    • Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards. 
    • Report complaints about service and equipment. 
    • Ensure corrective actions given by the manager are implemented.
    • Ensure that records of Housekeeping tasks are up to date and readily available.
    • Routinely check on the condition of work areas to ensure that the work schedule is meeting the needs of the facility and adjust accordingly.
    • Inform maintenance manager of any painting, repair work, replacements of furnishings and equipment that may be required.
    • Recommend changes that could improve service and increase operational efficiency.

    Personnel and Human Resources:

    Executive Group Head Chef- Cape Town

    Job Description
    Faircape Restaurant and Catering, part of Faircape Life retirement villages, is located in 6 prime locations across the Western Cape providing meals to village residents and patients in the onsite healthcare centres. We are looking for an Executive Group Head Chef that will work across all 6 villages to lead the service in the kitchen.

    You will be responsible for ensuring that this world class Lifestyle Estate and Healthcare Centre is maintained to the highest possible standards by implementing and sustaining efficient and effective management and safety processes.

    Property and Equipment Management

    • Be instrumental in directing the coordinating, planning and of all essential amenities and services such  as security,  gardens, waste disposal, recycling, etc.

    • Planning, Implementing & Expanding the network
    • Overseeing and determining timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages
    • New fibre rollouts, planning, budgeting, ordering, configuring
    • Customer base growth
    • Integration with other business units

    Maintenance 

    • Identify and plan network changes and upgrades
    • Ongoing maintenance of systems and networks to support the group and both commercial and residential clients
    • Scheduled changes
    • Google Suite cleanups and ongoing maintenance
    • New network hardware procurement

    Business Unit Support 

    • Manage network equipment stock levels and ensure that stock levels are sufficient for the business unit to perform both customer installations or infrastructure upgrades or repairs.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent

    Experience and knowledge

    • Proven work experience in a similar role
    • Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies
    • ISP or telecommunications background
    • Layer 2 protocols such as Vlans and including QinQ / Selective QinQ to support an open access fibre network
    • IPv4 and IPv6 addressing and subnetting
    • Routing protocols, e.g. OSPF and BGP
    • Routing filters
    • Tunnelling, e.g. EOIP / PPTP etc.
    • Brands such as Juniper, Mikrotik, Cisco, Dell, HP, Ubiquiti
    • Peering relationships
    • Technical IT based experience (Phones, laptops, PC’s, VOIP, WIFI etc)

    • Proven organisational and administration skills
    • Customer service orientated - ensuring corporate and residential customers are happy
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

    • Ability to convey technical knowledge, liaise with providers and deal with issues proactively

    Specific requirements

    • Must have a valid drivers licence and reliable vehicle

    • Vaccinated against covid-19 or prepared to be vaccinated prior to commencing work

    Working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 to 17h00 with a 45 minute lunch break.  Due to the nature of the position, you will be required to be on call on a rotational basis.
    With centrally located and modern offices just across from Cavendish in Claremont, we are offering a salary from R 80 000 cost to company per month.
