    Sales Manager - Africa

    Job description

    The Africa Sales Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the sales strategy of PayU. The Sales Manager will assist with defining existing products and services as well as managing the team of Sales Executives and Account Managers across Africa. The sales manager will be responsible for formulating global, Pan African, multi country and local sales force strategy and competencies. The Sales Manager will also be involved in top tier key account management. The Sales manager must also be aware of competition in the payment space and staying abreast of changes in regulations that may impact PayU and the merchants.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES

    The Sales Manager is responsible for a number of sales related activities.

    Sales Responsibilities and Key Activities

    • Plan, implement and execute the sales strategy and ensure organizational sales goals and revenues are met
    • Determine annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies and analyzing trends and results
    • Determine department budget and analyze actual results against plans and forecasts
    • Assist with product strategy to align with market needs
    • Implement/improve processes, procedures, sales methodology and sales tools to ensure operational efficiency
    • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors
    • Manage inbound and outbound contacts to potential and existing customer base by telephone, email, and face to face, in order to qualify leads and sell products and services
    • Assist with educating potential customers with regards to eCommerce and the value of PayU
    • Manage technical and business objectives of prospective customers
    • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands PayU’s customer base and ensures it’s strong presence
    • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and forecasts to the Executive team
    • Build and maintain customer relationships
    • Develop an understanding of PayU’s customer base and help grow it
    • Assist with additional ad hoc projects
    • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
    • Staying abreast of regulation changes in the industry that might impact PayU and merchants
    • Staying abreast of competition in the market
    • Conducting various analysis across the sales stream
    • Understanding the CRM systems and ensuring that it is up to date with data

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

    • Entry-level Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Honours would be advantageous)
    • 5+ years’ of sales related experience with exposure to Internet or eCommerce selling techniques and processes
    • 4-6 years’ experience in a managerial role and leading a sales team
    • Extensive knowledge of the payments industry across Africa

    Professional Requirements

    • Experience in an eCommerce environment, preferably for a national or international entity
    • Experience within web, online and ecommerce / payments systems preferred
    • Experience in business process modelling would be beneficial
    • Experience working in a high paced, agile environment
    • Experience with high volume transactional systems would be advantageous
    • SalesForce and Pipedrive knowledge

    Head Commercial Negotiator

    Job description

    PayU Africa is looking for an excellent Head Commercial Negotiator who can grow PayU across Africa and develop and implement commercial strategy of the business.

    Commercial Negotiator will be key in generating revenue through partnerships and new ventures.
    This role requires someone who has a drive for building partnerships, is entrepreneurial and driven to achieve.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES :

    • You will be based in the Johannesburg office part of the PayU Africa team.
    • This position requires extensive travel in Africa on a regular basis.
    • You will be responsible for but not limited to the below, these tasks will vary from time to time.
    • Developing and implementing PayU Africa Commercial Strategy- end to end due diligence on potential M&A, partner and merchant
    • Building, maintaining and managing key partnerships and relationships
    • Business case and opportunity formulation for Africa - Understanding the market and ensuring business strategy is consistently aligned
    • Product and service positioning in line with the market opportunities in Africa
    • Managing complex program and project management to the end inclusive of implantation and handover
    • Business development – local, Pan African & Global - growing the business across Africa
    • Drafting of commercial and consultative agreements, memorandums and business cases (identifying reuse of templates, automation and development of additional resources)
    • Dealing with deal and contract negotiations - advise on highly complex commercial agreements
    • Return of investment models and opportunity prioritising in line with resource capability
    • Translation of business and product opportunity into technical capability
    • Liaising with CEO’s and Directors of businesses
    • Adhering to strict deadlines.
    • Full responsibility of the commercial elements within the team
    • Budget and financial modeling and forecasting
    • Africa tax knowledge
    • Africa legal and regulatory knowledge
    • Reporting to the Head of Business and Strategy of Africa

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • 5- 10 years’ experience in deal negotiations and consulting agreements
    • MBA or minimum Bachelor’s Degree preferably with Legal background
    • Proven experience in a commercial role – (Commercial Negotiator. Business Development
    • 5-10+ years’ experience within the Africa Market
    • Proven Sales and busness development experience
    • Africa startup knowledge
    • Proven experience of managing and building key partner
    • Experience and knowledge of managing high priority projects
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills

    Professional Requirements

    • Experience in an eCommerce environment, preferably for a national or international entity
    • Experience within web, online and ecommerce / payments systems preferred
    • Experience in business process modelling would be beneficial
    • Experience working in a high paced, agile environment
    • Experience with acquirers, payment gateways, banks and payment technology providers
    • Experience with local in country knowledge with multiples markets in Africa
    • Experience with deal formulation with global clients
    • Experience with product dev, integration and tech
