    Depot Operator

    Job description

    Key Purpose

    To receive, store and move all products at the depots in a safely manner so as to avoid downtime on operations and avoid incidents.

    Key Responsibilities - Product Receipts

    • Quality Controls (Bulk Products)
    • Product storage
    • Product movements
    • Housekeeping
    • Stock-taking
    • HSEQ
    • General administration

    Specific Outcomes - Safe receipt of products

    • Receipt, Storage and Handling of all bulk products are done according to SABS standards
    • Products stored in accordance with prescribed procedures
    • Safe movement of products in line with procedures
    • A safe and clean working environment
    • Depot equipment maintained
    • Accurate stock-takes / Dipping conducted
    • Carry out periodic depot inspections as stipulated by specific checklist procedure
    • Reporting incidents
    • Meeting STOP quota
    • Record keeping

    Education & Experience - Matric or equivalent

    2 years depot/plant operations experience

    Knowledge, Skills & Attributes Knowledge

    • Knowledge of Depot lay-out, pipe configuration and tankage information
    • Knowledge of the Petroleum Industry
    • Working knowledge of inter-company supply and accommodation
    • Knowledge of Petroleum vehicle operating system
    • Be able to operate testing equipment utilized in the Lab
