    Retail Enviornment Manager

    WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

    In your role of RE Manager you will be responsible for the following:

    • Develop retail environment classification after validation with Consumer Insights and Customer Marketing
    • Management of research programs and developing shopper and channel insights
    • Apply shopper and trade insights and performance assessment to develop recommendations for product, pricing, promotion, placement and POP Media by retail environment.
    • Develop channel and account-specific strategies and in-store programs which deliver the brand and channel budget
    • Coordinate planning and execution of channel and account activities and timely communication of plans to relevant stakeholders
    • Track performance in retail environments and channel wise P&L
    • Track, review and modify channel and account plans to ensure Kellogg is driving consumption off the shelf cost effectively and brand objectives are achieved within channel and customer P&L guidelines.
    • Contribute and deliver as required to projects and initiatives
    • Development, tracking and activation of ‘perfect store’ standards by RE. Creation of relevant POS and visibility aids to engage / surprise the shopper, trigger impulse
    • Develop and track execution metrics for a merchandising organization which will maintain recommended planogram, shelf hygiene, category dressing and Kellogg assets installed
    • Ensure trade competitiveness by category in every RE. Create channel programs for engagement and impact.
    • Own the activity calendar and matrix with brand teams for shopper promotions/ delighters.

    • Experience of trade initiatives to include promotions, new products and pricing
    • Strong understanding of business drivers and how to apply the same
    • Sound judgment
    • Strong financial acumen
    • Ability to effectively network and ensure alignment with key stakeholders.
    • Ability to develop and execute commercial strategy
    • Ability to reduce complexity, via an analytical, disciplined, collaborative approach

    Key Performance Indicators

    • Channel strategy development and overall channel management to exploit incremental sales growth and opportunities in existing, emerging and new retail environments.
    • Developing and managing research programs for each RE
    • Developing shopper and channel profiles and & finalizing the POB solution based on these insights
    • Conducting pre and post analyses of promotions, adjusting business plans based on results to drive improved return on investment in all trade spends

    WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

    In your role as a channel Manager - Emerging Markets at Kellogg, you will be part of our success by:

    • This role leads the planning process which integrates the company, brand and strategy within the emerging market.
    • This role is the custodian of all business processes that relate to managing 3rd party suppliers in order to extract maximum value.
    • The role entails fast tracking the EM expansion plans over the next 3 years to create a substantial footprint to drive the Kellogg’s agenda.
    • Develop and implement a strategic 5yr business plan for the group that will drive the strategic Emerging Market plans to deliver budgeted growth and mix targets. Manage the trade support programs devised to achieve these objectives within budgeted marketing allowances and targeted GMROI.
    • Deliver on an annualised basis the company budgeted net sales and mix within the required marketing allowances
    • Effectively formulate and control marketing allowance spend budgets in a manner consistent with the company’s volume to value objectives, and to the maximum return of the company utilising pre and post promotional evaluation systems. Developing systems & programs that will enhance the effectiveness and controls.
    • Analyse and evaluate category performance for the Emerging Market to provide directional advice to the brand and customer teams on trade channel potential and opportunities, including unexplored channels and shopping occasions.
    • Development of the 5P strategy for Emerging Markets

    WHAT DO I NEED TO DEMONSTRATE?

    A hunger to learn and succeed in Sales as well as you must be able to meet the following requirements:

    Required

    • A commercial 3 year related degree (e.g. BComm), coupled with at least 7 years’ experience in FMCG Sales ( Emerging Market experience beneficial)
    • At least 5 years’ experience at a management level with customer exposure is required.
    • Legislative knowledge on SARS requirements and INCO terms not negotiable.
    • skilled in handling people, excellent communicator and demonstrate the ability to make decisions and work under pressure, which will enable guidance and influence to be exercised over individuals within the Kellogg’s and the 3rd party organisations serviced.
    • Ability to understand market dynamics, forecast results, and analyze and interpret data

    Preferred

    Strong negotiating skills and computer literacy are pre-requisites (sufficient proficiency in al MS office applications as well as SAP deal pricing modules)

    Flexible work schedule, including the necessity domestic travel, is part of the job
