    Marketing Manager (Milling)

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

     

    • As a Marketing Manager you will manage a team of Brand Managers and/or Assistant Brand Managers. You are the custodian of driving short and medium term sustainable, profitable growth at a brand level for your group of brands or category. You will achieve this by using deep consumer and shopper insights to craft brand/s that consumers love, and by developing compelling Category and/or Brand plans that are delivered through exceptional brand experiences in terms of innovation, communication and activation. This involves articulating and executing the full marketing mix for your brand/s. You are responsible for coaching and managing those working for you and your ability to provide leadership and inspire is what will set you apart in this role.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Lead cross functional teams to pull together a customer and consumer insights driven brand strategy that aligns with the agreed Category strategy
    • Translate marketing insights and analysis of key issues and opportunities into clear & compelling Brand Plans - detailing execution of Category Strategy, Pricing & Channel Strategy, Promotions Plan and Innovation Plan to deliver agreed growth agenda (volume, value, profit)
    • Drive your brand teams and cross-functional colleagues to hit the metrics approved by the Category Managing Director. Metrics could be volume, revenue, profit or market share driven and will be determined by category strategy
    • Track and monitor the performance of your brands against financial targets and plans, executing corrective actions when needed
    • Motivate your team to ensure that there is a focus on quality and on time delivery of brand plans whilst promoting cross functional working to identify interdependencies and potential efficiencies
    • Focus on developing and empowering people around you and developing great relationships within Tiger Brands and with our clients and suppliers
    • Lead creative agency through the Communication Strategy process for your brand(s), culminating in the deliver of a Communication Strategy sign off and campaign judging and sign off
    • Set pricing targets informed by your in-depth understanding of brand positioning and by leveraging pricing insights and guidelines provided by the Pricing CoE
    • Monitor all marketing communications and promotions around the brand to ensure consistency of message and clarity of information. You will work with the Marketing function to track the effectiveness of campaigns
    • You will work closely with the Customer team in order to align trade spend with your marketing calendar

    EXPERIENCE

    • 4+ years brand and marketing experience with a proven track record of working across functions to deliver marketing excellence and brand growth within a FMCG environment
    • BBusSc/BCom preferable
    • Proven record of successful brand development and Idea to Market strategies
    • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative consumer goods propositions based on rich consumer insights

    Production Manager

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

     

    • Responsible for managing all aspects of moderately complex manufacturing operations. Responsible to deliver results that meet quality, customer service, safety, innovation and cost criteria. Formulates or approves short- and long-term operating objectives in areas such as cost reduction, quality improvement, new product development and/or integration as undertaken at the plant level.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • The main objective is to manage your area of responsibility in terms of extractions, quality, maintenance, people and information.
    • Manage in the successful implementation of the milling schedule.
    • Manage Wheat intake and grading.
    • Manage Bran Sales.
    • Total responsibility over the milling operation, from intake to transfer to production plant.
    • Good housekeeping (responsible for key one on your shift)
    • Report all breakdowns exceeding half an hour to maintenance co-ordinator.
    • Continuously check the safety aspects of all the machines and areas
    • Make decisions regarding breakdown maintenance on all the production lines.
    • Decide if product quality is acceptable and make immediate changes when and where bad quality occurs.
    • Report all abnormalities to ensure pro-active scheduling of jobs
    • Determining of breakdown root causes together with Shift Millers and maintenance technician.
    • Implement the production plan; discuss with Shift Millers and plan production, change overs and maintenance accordingly.
    • Adjust the milling schedule in consultation with the supply chain co-ordinator when targets could not be reached or the plan has to be altered due to whatever reason.
    • Ensure that work areas are kept clean and tidy and that all materials and equipment are stored according to world best practice.
    • Responsible for the general condition of the production line
    • Constantly check the product quality, rectify deviations relating to maintenance, raw material, preparation, recipes, ingredients and processes.
    • Constantly check the condition of machines, conveyors and other equipment and report defects.
    • Assist in investigations concerning safety, poor quality, and poor performance
    • Be actively involvement in the
    • Continuously improving work methods to make-work easier.
    • Minimise change over downtime and report prolonged changeovers.
    • Listening to grievances and relieving tension between people
    • Chairing disciplinary hearings and disciplining subordinates when necessary
