    Technical Advisor: PMTCT

    The successful candidate will oversee implementation of PMTCT related activities in line with 909090 HIV/TB strategy at District, sub-district & facility level. This will include serving as an expert resource on PMTCT to both Anova and Department of Health Clinical Staff, Sub-Partners and to Sub-District Managers in ensuring that programmatic activities and goals are achieved.

     Key duties and responsibilities: 

    • Monitor PMTCT prevention and care and treatment programme performance, in line with set targets, identifying poor performance across 56 facilities for improvement plan implementation.
    • Utilize data to identify PMTCT performance gaps in line with prep and ART guidelines for care and treatment.
    • Provide technical support and overall strategic guidance for ANOVA and DOH clinical and non-clinical teams, at District level and across 56 facilities with the aim to improve PMTCT programme indicator performance (Prevention and Care and Treatment) .

     Minimum qualifications, skills and experience:

    • MBChB, Nursing degree or diploma.
    • Valid registration with HPCSA and SANC.
    • At least five years post community service clinical experience for Nurses and two years post community service experience for medical doctors.
    • At least 2 years’ experience working in technical leadership, oversight, design, and implementation of PMTCT, Prep or other HIV related programmes.
    • At least 2 years’ experience managing PMTCT and HIV/TB patients.
    • Good knowledge of Prep, Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART), TB, Chronic Medication and guidelines.

    Medical Officer - Vanderbijlpark

    The successful candidate will provide advanced clinical care to patients at DOH facilities. The doctor will work closely with Physicians & Infectious Disease specialists, to provide clinical assessment of eligible patients for ART initiation; start them on ART and manage those referred with complications of HIV or TB; in line with Department of Health guidelines.

     Key duties and responsibilities: 

    • Provide clinical care for all patients with HIV, TB and co-morbid non-communicable diseases (Adults, pregnant and breastfeeding women, children and Adolescents) referred to you by Anova & DOH clinicians.
    • Work closely with data team & facility-based clinicians to identify patients in need of advanced clinical care (Low CD4 <200; WHO stage 3 and 4; children <5yrs; unsuppressed VL on 1st and 2nd line ART regimen; unstable co-morbidities etc.).
    • Establish clinical services and or referral pathways for patients in need of advanced clinical care (e.g., Immunological failure/ 2nd line failure/ Renal impairment/ liver disease etc.
    • Provide clinical care for patients diagnosed with DS-TB and DR TB (Drug Resistant TB) managed at all sites, including decentralized sites.
    • Provide tele-mentoring and in-person mentoring for clinicians (DOH & Anova) in need of guidance on clinical patient management.

    M&E Officer - Hospital

    The successful candidate will be required to effectively lead and coordinate the implementation of M&E systems focused on data collection, analysis, and reporting of results within Anova APACE supported Hospital. The M&E Officer will report to the M&E (Technical) Manager and work in close collaboration with relevant programmatic technical advisers, as well as counterparts to ensure that quality data are available to program teams to guide decision making.

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Ensure that the hospital M&E data staff have the tools, access, and training necessary to perform their duties optimally. Problem-solve challenges
    • Engage Hospital managers and program teams on a weekly basis to discuss challenges with data collection, analysis, and reporting
    • Prepare and develop systematic and realistic hospital M&E implementation plans that outline processes for the capturing of quantitative and qualitative data to report on project performance indicators, and with input from the M&E Manager finalise for approval by the Program Manager
    • Coordinate the implementation of baseline surveys
    • Review and adapt existing, or develop new, project reporting templates that facilitate the effective collection of data and aggregation of information
    • Compile data from all Anova projects ensuring data is at the agreed levels of quality standards
    • Maintain effective information databases for projects

    Data Quality Improvement:

    • Conduct monthly data quality assessments/audits to identify data quality improvement and training needs
    • Develop facility data quality improvement project plans
    • Work closely with the Hospital Managers, M&E Data Capturers, M&E Manager, and Technical Advisors to implement data collection and data quality improvement plans
    • Measure and report data quality improvement project progress and outcomes
    • Support the M&E Manager on regular data quality drives, setting targets to reduce data capturing and reporting mistakes
    • Provide supportive supervision on data entry and capturing processes to the M&E Data Collectors
    • Work alongside with clinical staff to ensure adequate completion of clinical stationery according to latest Department of Health SOP/Guides

    Data Analysing and Reporting for Facility and Program Performance improvement:

    • Support managers and advisors in the evaluation and documentation of qualitative and quantitative performance measures at quarterly and yearly intervals, following completion of implementation of projects
    • Investigate and resolve queries regarding reporting form all programs and activities
    • Regularly analyse data trends at Hospital level to identify patterns observed, preparing monthly reports to M&E Managers and hospital leaders
    • Prepare high quality reports and disseminate findings to the program teams to support evidence-based decision making relating to activities and focus areas

    Support to Program stakeholders (DOH and other Health stakeholders):

    • Collaborate with the M&E Manager to resolve any difficulties with program activities and program compliance
    • Contribute to the development of guidelines and standards for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all project interventions
    • Ensure adherence and compliance with relevant norms and policies
    • Actively identify successful activities and interventions and working with the M&E Manager, develop lessons learnt and document these
    • Organise and coordinate regular lessons learnt workshops to contribute to knowledge sharing and improved data driven decision-making

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Grade 12 (Matric)

    Pharmacist Assistant - Vanderbijlpark

    The successful candidate will be required to support implementation of pharmacy activities in Anova supported facilities by ensuring that they are compliant with Basic Pharmacy principles, implementation and maintenance of stock visibility solution and alternative distribution models.

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Provide mentorship and support to ensure that adequate levels of stock are available.
    • Ensure compliance with good pharmacy practice.
    • Maintenance of stock visibility solution (SVS).
    • Mentorship on Repeat Prescription Collections (RPC) & Dablapmeds in supported facilities.
    • Monitoring and maintenance of performance of the Dablapmeds program.
    • Support the retention of accurate and updated records on pharmacy activity & decanting.

    General Assistant

    The successful candidate will help keep our offices clean and in hygiene condition. The incumbent is also expected to provide refreshments to our stakeholders during visits, audits and meetings etc.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform cleaning services i.e., sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, disinfecting our office, kitchen and reception area.

    Office Manager

    We are looking for a meticulous, detail-oriented individual to oversee the day-to-day operations of the office environment by ensuring that employees have what they need to be successful (e.g., supplies, admin support, a safe work environment) to support the productivity of the core business and meet the needs of the organisation. 

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    Office Management

    • Design, implement & maintain office procedures for Head Office (boardroom booking procedure, etc.).
    • Organize office operations and oversee implementation of day-to-day operational functions and activities.
    • Plan and implement office systems, equipment procurement and maintenance.
    • Maintain and replenish inventory at a cost-efficient level.
    • Review and approve supply requisitions.
    • Maintain all office equipment.
    • Prepare necessary work tool for new staff joining Anova Head Office (e.g., Main gate access tag, Laptops and bags, stationery, etc.).
    • Ensure that the office and storerooms are always kept clean and tidy.
    • Support programme activities as and when required (e.g., preparing for outreach events and campaigns, etc.).

    Maintenance and Service Management

    • In conjunction with the Facilities Manager, implement planned, preventative and emergency maintenance as well as disaster and emergency planning.
    • Supervise and oversee maintenance work in the office, including weekends when necessary.
    • Ensure that life cycle planning and preventative maintenance plans over a 3-year period are carried out.
    • Manage and oversee all maintenance, stock control inventory, spares, and tools.
    • Manage all services, monitoring the quality of services and deliverables provided by suppliers.
    • Conduct monthly KPI meetings with contracted soft service providers (e.g. security, garden services, air conditioning, etc.)
    • Conduct regular inspections, including technical, housekeeping, service contracts and take on and take back inspections of rented properties.

    Occupational Health and Safety

    Responsible for physical workplace and facilities as it relates to health, safety, and environment by:

    • ensuring workplace and facilities are in a healthy and safe state by keeping them clean, hygienic, orderly, in whole and leak free condition, free of obstruction, good state of repair, with good housekeeping; and sanitary compliant.
    • monitoring and ensuring workplace and facilities therein are always well lit, well ventilated, free of pests and have adequate sanitary provisions and drinking water.
    • Monitor and ensure that all Health and Safety representatives and other legal appointments and training are done in terms of Occupational Health and Safety Act, are always up to date.
    • Monitor and keep the Occupational Health and Safety file up to date with all mandatory documentation as required.
    • Monitor and ensure the adherence of implemented Occupational Health and Safety standards and measures at the office / workplace by employees, visitors, contractors, and any other persons.
    • Monitor and supervise the servicing, and maintenance of Occupational Health and Safety equipment and other equipment to ensure these are well maintained to mitigate risk.
    • Attend to and participate in health and safety meetings, emergency evacuation drills, health and safety audits or assessments, and the implementation of recommendations thereof.

    Financial management

    • Manage and control allocated maintenance budget.
    • Liaise with suppliers to get best services provided for Anova at reasonable prices.
    • Process invoices from suppliers, in accordance with Anova Finance and compliance procedures.
    • Process monthly rental and Service Level Agreement (SLA) invoices.
    • Prepare and process all office admin related requisitions.

    Administration

    • Design and maintain filing systems for filing of all relevant documents.
    • Ensure filing systems are maintained and up to date.
    • Define and monitor procedures for record retention.
    • Ensure protection and security of files and records. 

    People management

    • Manage staff (in line with policies, procedures, and standards) including submission of monthly timesheets and supporting documents by:
    • Partnering with HR on recruitment and induction of new team members.
    • Managing the performance review process.
    • Identifying training needs or staff support needs and ensuring that such training or support is provided.
    • Supervise and monitor the work of administrative staff. Including Mentoring and guiding staff as required.
    • Facilitate regular meetings with support staff.

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Diploma in Office Management, and
    • At least 2-3 years experience in operations management or healthcare consulting position.

    Counsellor Linkage Officer

    We are looking for Linkage Officer who will be responsible for HTS and ensure that proper linkage to care of all HIV infected patients is done according to DoH guidelines.

     Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide HIV testing services (HTS) to clients.
    • Be available to assist all clients tested for HIV in the facility and from the community outreach sites.
    • Ensure that all clients tested positive are linked into care.
    • Follow up on all facility newly initiated clients, for adherence counselling.
    • Keep record of clients who are initiated on ART.
    • Attend facility meetings as required to discuss HTS/HIV/TB/STI related issues.  

    Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • At least 2 years’ experience working as a HTS counsellor.
    • Certificate in Basic Hast, HIV Counselling, Adherence counselling.
    • Knowledge of DoH, HTS guidelines and protocols.
    • Must be able to work independently and in a team.
