    Academic Programme Convenor (IT Faculty) - Cape Town

    Job Advert Summary    

    • Eduvos is looking to employ the services of a regional Academic Programme Convener (Faculty of Information Technology), to be based at our Mowbray campus, and also oversee Bloemfontein, East London, and Nelson Mandela Bay campuses, on a permanent basis.

    Minimum Requirements    
    Minimum qualification:

    • Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computing, or IT related  
    • Relevant PhD degree will be preferable

    Experience:

    • At least five years’ experience as a lecturer in the higher education industry 
    • At least two years’ experience in educational management and leadership

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Responsibilities:

    As the Academic Programme Convener, you will be primarily responsible for the following:
    Accountability areas – operating / financial results accountable for:

    • Accountable for the operational delivery of lecturing related to Information Technology programmes across campuses and offerings (lecturer performance)   
    • Accountable for the performance of the community of practice and alignment with development hub

    Operational process outputs:

    • Qualification related subject matter expertise
    • Fulfil the role of lecturer (ad hoc if required) – but the main focus of the role is to manage academic delivery / managing the lecturers

    Management:

    • Budgets
    • Input into academic budget  
    • SCA claims processing
    • Operational planning e.g., programme implementation planning and training (per mode of delivery) incl. sequence, prerequisites, etc. (academic planner)
    • Monitoring, control, corrective action
    • Reporting – regular feedback as per program manager requirements and Head of Programmes
    • Escalations / Decisions / Problem solving – 1st point of contact for student complaints
    • Resourcing and capacity management (people; equipment)
    • Leadership:
    • Assistance with talent acquisition, selection and onboarding 
    • Individual performance management - role clarity and objectives; reviews; feedback; corrective actions
    • Culture and climate and change

    Functional and Behavioural Competencies    
    Functional competencies:

    • Computer literacy – well developed MS Office skills 
    • Working knowledge of learning systems (LMS)
    • Good understanding of qualification frameworks and academic processes and governance structures
    • Good understanding of management principles and remote managerial abilities

    National Business Development Manager - National

    The Position:

    • The National Business Development Manager is responsible for the oversight of the part time division to ensure its growth and sustainability, effective academic delivery, sound operations management and impactful industry and community involvement.
    • It encompasses ensuring outstanding service delivery and a positive academic and campus experience for our students. The National Business Development Manager is also required to build a high-performing campus culture that is aligned to Eduvos’ philosophy and values, by supporting and developing engaged and empowered staff.

    Minimum Requirements    
    Minimum qualification:

     

    • Relevant postgraduate qualification (preferably commerce) is required; an undergraduate qualification may be considered for candidates with a proven track record of relevant experience.

    Experience:

    • At least five years’ management experience in a higher education / HR / hospitality environment.

    As the National Business Development Manager, you will be primarily responsible for the following:

    Academic and Student Experience Manager (Part-time Structure) - National

    The Position:

    To ensure and a positive student experience on a campus outside the classroom to ensure that a student is successful in his/her learning and teaching journey 

    Minimum Requirements    
    Minimum qualification:

    • At least an honours degree, preferably in management  

    Experience:

    • Minimum three years of managerial experience in an academic environment
    • At least five years’ of service or customer management experience, preferably in higher education environment  

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Responsibilities:

    As the Academic and Student Experience Manager, you will be primarily responsible for the following:

     Student retention - implemented student experience journey (social events, governance, physical and emotional wellness, academic support)
