    Application Architect / Senior Developer

    Introduction    

    • The Solutions Architect contributes to the organisational goals through managed ownership and development and / or design of solutions architecture frameworks / roadmaps, enhances operational productivity through guidance / training, owning the governance and standards, making sure Operational delivery streams deliver responsive and cost effective solutions that enables business’s needs.


    Specification    

    • Responsible for complete solutions design, analysis and facilitate implementation roadmaps in conjunction with relevant internal stakeholders in order to ensure seamless delivery. On a continuous basis conduct a risk / impact analysis on current or proposed technologies and capabilities to mitigate risk and ensure stability and continuity.
    • To proactively work alongside GIT Internal and / or Business stakeholders in order to identify technology solutions and capabilities which meet and improve operational and business requirements.
    • To ensure efficient documentation and governance of architecture landscape.

    • To proactively work alongside the GIT Monitoring team and identify whether the deployed Infrastructure operates and meets with the original design parameters once implemented and address any possibly capacity constraints thereafter on an on-going basis.
    • To mitigate Infrastructure risks (single points of failure, capacity constraints, security, etc) and maintain the improvement list within Telesure’s current and newly implemented Infrastructure and propose solutions on an on-going basis.
    • To work alongside the GIT Software development team so as to proactively identify hardware and network requirements for Telesure Business initiatives on an on-going basis
    • To provide support to the Enterprise Project Office by identifying infrastructure or process related improvements to ensure that new solutions are proposed and is effectively implemented as well as assist with the development and definition of business cases on an ad-hoc basis.

    Requirements    
    Level of Education:

    Essential:

    • Recognized degree / Diploma / Certification
    • Grade 12/ SAQA Accredited Equivalent (Essential)
    • Certification in a IT industry standard framework like TOGAF, ITIL and AGILE

    Desirable:

    • Project management certification (PMBOK / Prince2)

    Experience:

    Essential:

    • 5+ years’ experience in a production IT environment managing enterprise IT infrastructure, hardware, hosting service and network areas.
    • 3 years exposure to application development principles and support
    • 2 years exposure to ITIL disciplines

    Job Purpose
    Manage a small team that is responsible for delivering Data Science related objectives in collaboration with the TIH relevant business units, using mathematical and data related methods (e.g. machine learning, statistical analysis, optimisation, etc.). Responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, measuring the effectiveness of (e.g. ROI), and optimising models within TIH. These models should drive strategic intent and operational effectiveness.

    Specification    
    Advanced and Predictive Analytics

    • Employ machine learning techniques and build predictive, descriptive, and behavioral models to help achieve various business performance indicators and to help identify business opportunities, linking insights to actionable recommendations.
    • Manage the continuous optimisation cycle of these models including implementation, automation, reporting, measuring effectiveness, considering impact on behaviours, considering impact of external factors, redesigning, etc.
    • Monitor and quantify the impact of models on TIH business, its customers (e.g. customer experience)and other stakeholders.

    Data and Analytics Strategy

    • Plan all business and technical aspects of different data and analytics systems and platforms. Understand features and properties, ensure data integrity of new and existing tracking of these systems and platforms.

    Information and Business Advice

    • Provide specialist guidance on the interpretation and application of predictive analytics, resolving complex or contentious queries and issues and enabling others to take appropriate actions.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Develop stakeholder engagement through identifying stakeholders, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these to support the communication of business information and decisions.

    • Contribute to the design and creation of reporting strategies and templates.
