    HR Manager

    Internet Solutions (IS) is South Africa’s most established and experienced Converged Communications Service Provider. Since 1993 IS have been providing end-to-end connectivity solutions and related services across the African continent. Internet Solutions is now also able to provide specific infrastructure facilities to customers, having received a full Electronic Communications Network Service (ECNS) license in 2009. MWEB was recently sold to IS as a going concern.

    We are currently looking for a HR Manager to support the business in achieving its strategic objectives.

    The HR Manager is a member of the Management team and works with business to develop a People and Culture strategy aligned to the business strategy. Enables implementation of the business strategy through a talent strategy that addresses attraction and selection of right skills, development and retention of talent.

    What we expect you to do

    • STRATEGY: Develop and implement HR plan in synergy with the company’s business strategy to ensure a high performance culture. Ensure that the HR plan is aligned to IS Group HR strategy. Actively contribute to the growth and success of the business
    • MANAGEMENT: Leading the HR team to ensure that all HR Business Plans and Functional Partnerships are effectively aligned, managed and implemented to ensure business results.
    • BUDGETING: Develops and monitors an annual HR budget and is responsible for the cost effective management of HR business plan spending within the budget.
    • EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP: Serves on the local management team and HR leader team and is responsible for effective reporting on strategic goal achievements. Act as a resource consultant to the business using people analytics, advising of trends in HR practices, the labour market and general developments that could impact on the human resources in the area of responsibility.
    • ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Manages organisational design that addresses issues such as staffing, job design, succession planning, workforce development, employee retention and company structure design.
    • COMMUNICATION and EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT: Contribute to driving the on-going engagement of employees through communication, information sharing and knowledge management.
    • Manages employee communication and feedback through meetings, climate survey’s and internal communication.
    • LEADERSHIP: Lead the HR team to provide effective service to the business in the areas of recruitment , performance management, policies and procedures , compensation and benefits and succession planning.
    • CULTURE: Identifies and monitors the culture so that it supports the achievement of the companies goals and promotes employee satisfaction.
    • EMPLOYMENT EQUITY AND DIVERSITY MANAGEMENT: Ensure the implementation of the Company's Employment Equity Strategy and implementation of functional business plans to achieve equity goals. This includes any compliance responsibilities with respect to Employment Equity legislation
    • PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT: Leads the implementation of the performance management for maximum impact on employee performance assessment and development
    • TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT: Establishes and implements a relevant business plan for employee learning and development that addresses company needs. This includes any compliance responsibilities with respect to Skills Development Legislation
    • EMPLOYEE RELATIONS: Management of Industrial Relations, including the management of tasks through the dispute resolution stages (CCMA).

    Here's what we are looking for in candidates for this job

    • Advanced Degree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology
    • At least 10 years’ experience HR leadership with a minimum of 5 years working as a HR Business partner managing across the HR value chain and leading a HR team.
    • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of international labour legislation and practices.
    • Demonstrated experience in working closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at different levels in the business.
    • Excellent Knowledge and understanding of current HR Talent Management practices, including Learning and Development, Recruitment and Engagement.
    • Demonstrated ability to serve as a successful partner to the management team that provides company leadership and direction that is business aligned; in addition having the ability to lead a dynamic HR team, including outsourced partners.
    • Demonstrated business acumen, contract negotiation skills and results orientation
    • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the areas of culture, change, talent, management
    • Project management and facilitation skills
